FAVE Malaysia’s Fitness-Themed Headquarters Is Office Goals

September 5, 2017

If an office space is a reflection of a company’s culture, FAVE’s headquarters in Bangsar would probably be what you’d expect - a whirlwind of fun, creativity and innovation.

And it certainly rings true with the brand’s direction, which emphasises on bringing new, interesting experiences for people on the regular. Originally KFIT, a wellness-based app that offers limited time deals in beauty, fitness and leisure services, FAVE was launched to connect consumers with a wider spectrum – including food & beverage and travel.

With fitness elements thrown into the mix, the FAVE office space embraces its KFIT roots, and doubles as a motivating influence for their team to drive the FAVE brand (business-wise, and on a personal level, physical-wise). Even their office location is smartly apt – located in Bangsar South, a stylish suburban enclave recognised as a Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) Cybercentre - the area is a growing hotspot for bourgeoning local IT start-ups.

A Walkthrough

Step into the FAVE office and your ears will first pick up the catchy tunes of the latest songs. Then, you’ll also the distinct lack of dress code – a standard that’s creeping into more businesses. Staff can dress however they see fit or feel comfortable in; after all, the way you dress shouldn’t dictate how well you do your stuff!

All these add up to create a fun yet conducive work environment where productivity is prioritised over ‘image’. Don’t feel like coming to work? Staff are also given the option of working from home - as long as they can meet their deadlines.

The FAVE office comprises two floors - the lower floor is the “office” level while the upper floor functions as an alternative workspace which doubles up as a ‘rest and relaxation’ space.

While the lower floor is meant to function as an “office” area, it certainly doesn’t look the part, with an open concept layout. Constricting cubicles are replaced with communal tables, as the FAVE team are free to choose where they’d like to work in for the day.

When it’s time to take a break, the staff adjourn to the open bar style pantry to grab a cuppa. There are also various exercise equipment in the office so that staff can destress by throwing punches at a boxing bag or shooting some hoops. The running track design which is painted throughout the perimeter of the lower floor is another fitness element that is a nod to FAVE’s origins as KFIT.

Make your way to the upper floor and you will be greeted with a bright, airy space where beanbags are scattered across the space. This floor is also equipped with a pool table and a table tennis table for the FAVE team to use at any point of the day.

Looking at the furnishings and floorings – couches, bean bags, stools and even faux grass carpets – of the upper level, it is clear that a lot of attention was devoted to making the space comfortable for the team.

Explore further into the space and you will come across many rooms with different designs and furnishings that function as the alternative workspaces for the team at FAVE. Each room is also special as it is adorned with its own unique motivational quote.

The vibrant office environment and flexible work culture at FAVE has created a space where creativity and adaptability are nurtured. Perhaps, this is the reason behind FAVE’s success in Malaysia and Singapore, where it is recognised as the go-to platform for consumers to connect with local businesses.
