The company (and thus, the building) was named after Tan Boon Liat, a prominent businessman and philanthropist who was also the great-grandson of Tan Tock Seng.

The nearest MRT station to Tan Boon Liat Building is Havelock MRT. Take Exit 1, and the building is just a few minutes away on foot.

No, Tan Boon Liat Building is not closing down immediately. Although it was sold en bloc to Kingsford Group in July 2026, there is no confirmed closing date at the time of writing.
