In addition to these offerings, the shop also houses a remarkable collection of rare books, vintage artworks, and photographs to complete the look.

2. Koleksi Malaya - retro kopitiam tableware

Koleksi Malaya is a go-to for timeless goods. The shop is designed to make you feel like you're walking into an old kopitiam where vintage items such as old kopitiam tables and chairs, old kopitiam cups and saucers with their trademark green floral patterns, vintage televisions, radios,display cabinets, and antique cameras are neatly displayed. While these goods were previously used, they have been lovingly restored and cleaned to their once-original condition.

The owner is a local treasure hunter with a knack for finding unexpected pieces from his travels. These include collectibles such as old Coca-Cola bottles, tools, toys, clocks, and so on and sell or display them at this shop. 3. Central Market - small antiques and collectibles from Asia

If you’re searching for small antiques and collectibles, you’ll definitely want to check out Central Market. The mall is lined with rows of antique and vintage shops selling items such as vintage dinnerware, vases, clocks, metalware, coins, artwork, and retro toys. 4. Syarikat Tai Fatt Heng - vintage kitchenware, dinnerware and tableware

Syarikat Tai Fatt Heng serves as an excellent destination for discovering vintage Chinese-inspired kitchen goods.

For instance, you can buy plain ceramic plates (traditionally used in Malaysian Chinese families) with blue and white patterns around the edges, or the ones with a cockerel motif, hibiscus, or the tea rose. There are also vintage Peranakan tea sets in lovely pastel colours (pink, turquoise, and green) with intricate scalloped edges and phoenix motifs.

In addition to vintage dinnerware, they also sell modern dining plates and bowls with vibrant colours and unique patterns, so you’ll be spoiled for choice. The best part is that you can buy things for as little as RM10, so it would be a miracle if you didn't leave with a few items!

Located inside Bangsar Village II shopping mall, TriBeCa Artisan is a great place to shop if you want to add some retro charm to your home. Every corner of the shop is packed with stylish and unique items including drawers, lamps, tiffins, table runners, vases, rattan chairs, large mirrors, and partitions, just to name a few. While the items sold here are brand new, they are intended to pay homage to mid-century styles that were popular from the 1950s to the 1970s.

For instance, we spotted a set of PVC-rubber string chairs that we probably recall seeing in ourgrandparents’ homes growing up. It is such a nostalgic piece that is truly a blast from the past. According to the shop owner, Mr. Jimmy, every piece of item in this store is newly made and produced in China, and they are designed to look like furniture made in the 16th and 17th centuries (Ming Dynasty). Whether you’re looking for an intricately carved wooden partition to add a touch of privacy to your abode or an antique-looking vase to be displayed in your living room, chances are, you’ll find them in this shop.

With plenty of dressing tables, armchairs, wooden doors, console tables, cabinets and chairs, lamps, vases, mirrors, and decor, you’ll be literally spoiled for choice. Prices start from hundreds of ringgit onwards, and the best part is that they offer free delivery throughout Klang Valley.

8. Amcorp Mall Weekend Flea Market - a mix of everything

Amcorp Mall is a haven for shopping, not just for vintage and antique furniture or decor but also for other items in general. There are numerous shops in the mall that specialise in old coins, stamps, vintage music records, classic toys, jewellery, and even comic books. Among the list of antique and vintage furniture shops available at the mall are Teh Collectibles, Old and Interesting, and Victorian Rose. However, if you want to visit during the week, check the opening hours, as many shops are typically closed during the week.

While the mall is mostly quiet during the week, it comes alive during the weekend flea market. Located on the lower ground and ground floors, there will be rows of stalls selling an assortment of interesting finds, including sterling flatware, jewellery, glassware, ceramics, tableware, art, furniture, and lighting. Perhaps the most exciting part is that you never know what you'll discover here, so come with an open mind!
