With only RM35,000, AW Design Lab successfully transformed this 850 sqft condominium into a cool bachelor pad for an owner who enjoys collecting figurines.

The living room features a full-height shelf that allows the owner to display an assortment of figurines without crowding the space. Furthermore, the shelf provides some privacy from neighbours’ eyes while also separating the living room from the dining room while keeping the communal area open. Elsewhere around the house, numerous built-ins were incorporated to improve its functionality. This contributes to the home's spacious and well-organised appearance.

4. An urban abode filled with earthy tones in Selangor | Renovation Cost: RM40,000

Working with a budget of RM40,000, Airhost managed to transform an empty 840 sqft condominium into a modern space with marvelous details. In the living room for example, there are plenty of earthy tones such as dark green, brown and cream used for the furnishings and decor pieces, making the space feel like a cosy hideaway after a long day at work. The dark furnishings also grounds the space while allowing lighter colours to stand out.

The homeowner also decked the home with houseplants to add a touch of nature and to complement the green feature wall in the living room.

5. A Scandinavian-style landed home in Penang | Renovation Cost: RM20,000

With a renovation budget of RM20,000, the designer did not overwhelm the home with plenty of furniture pieces and decor by sticking to the essentials. The designer added punches of colours such as green (on the bedroom wall), red, yellow, and blue for the wall art and throw pillows against a neutral backdrop that is primarily used for the built-in units. These items are inexpensive and simple to replace whenever a quick refresh is required.

Exposed legs and clear glass are also used to allow light to pass through or under it, creating the illusion of a larger space. Given how luxurious this home looks, we were surprised that the total renovation cost was only RM40,000. This is made possible by incorporating metallic or gold trimming on furniture pieces such as the cabinets, side tables, and lighting fixtures.

Aside from that, the designer added eye-catching feature walls in every room. This helps to elevate the home and complements the gold trim on the furniture, tying the space together.

8. Small but homey condo in Bukit Bintang | Renovation Cost : RM19,255

Home extensions are a popular home improvement, but they can be expensive to implement. However, Interior Hunters managed to create an extra room in this petit 689 sqft condominium for less than RM20,000 without requiring costly structural changes.

The trick is by installing a sliding door in the open space living room. This small modification created an additional room within the living area for the homeowner to use when entertaining overnight guests or when other family members want to relax in privacy.

Aside from that, to avoid the space appearing flat or dull, the designer used faux-wood and brick wallpaper to add interest/visual appeal while keeping the renovation budget low.
