Project Details
This project delves into the transformative dark hues, exploring its potential to create a
luxurious living space that embodies masculinity, rawness and simplicity. Paperworks strong
use of black profile, natural stone and dark oak tone to mute the plain volume, soft lighting
form create drama within the space. The aim is to create a space that feels aesthetically bold
yet inviting, luxurious yet rooted in simplicity.
“Black is the new timeless luxury of modern”
The foundation of this design is a carefully curated color palette centered on black. Various
shades, from dark oak wood to marble dark grey tone, are used to create depth and interest.
To prevent the space from feeling too heavy, accents of metallics and shades of grey such as
brushed stainless steel, light grey paint and grey fabric are applied in the space.
According with Feng Shui advise, the entrance divider was designed to block the living room
window and separate the zones. Open shelf unit placed strategically is served as an alcove
display, by using brushed stainless steel to create attractive focal point at first glance while
highlighting the feature. Creating a pegboard hole pattern in entrance divider to produce a
light shadow effect for an added unique and artistic touch to the living space.
The living room sets the tone for the entire space. The full length TV feature wall is designed
by using dark grey marble and black fluted panels to create a sense of depth and texture. On
the opposite side, the wall to ceiling connection with a curve profile design are painted in
light grey provide a soft and airy for creating a versatile and calming backdrop that enhances
the placement of loose furniture like sofa and dining set. Designing a custom window
platform that maximizes storage for a robot cleaner while incorporating space for an
aesthetically pleasing plant. This combination not only creates a sophisticated and luxurious,
but also feels inviting and warm with soft indirect lighting enhancing the overall ambiance.
In the dining, the theme of black and grey continues. Combining black legs profile dining
chairs with grey fabric provide for comfort seating, paired with a dark grey marble dining
table, creates a sleek and timeless style. Custom made wall light illuminate the dining table to
create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Adjacent to the dining, the small pantry designed
serves as a dedicated space for coffee preparation and serving. It is designed with
functionality and style in mind, complements the same marble of the dining table while
providing a practical area for beverage service and storage.
Continuing the fluted panels design language from living to kitchen creates a cohesive and
visually appealing flow throughout the space. Maintaining consistency with a minimal color
scheme of three colors in living space, centered around a primary grey marble used for the
table top and backsplash, to serve as a masterpiece of the design. Planning brighter lighting
for the kitchen compared to the living and dining areas is practical and essential for ensuring
functionality and efficiency for kitchen activities.
The design balances bold aesthetic with grounded simplicity, offering a luxurious yet
understated environment that resonates with masculinity and raw elegance. This approach not
only enhances the overall ambiance of the space, but also integrates curved flow design
elements to achieve a harmonious and sophisticated interior. This project delves into the transformative dark hues, exploring its potential to create a
