Casa Tropicana, Selangor

2 Bedroom Condo designed by Pocket Square

New CondoMinimalistic

Project Details

The brief was to create a high-tech bachelor's pad where the owner also spends a lot of time working from home. The design intention from the get-go was to create a bright, practical spaces with seamless transition from one to another. The first bedroom facing the main door was opened up to bring in ample natural lighting, and turned into a library that includes two veneer cladded full height bookshelves & a bay window with a tucked in intimate corner for peaceful reading. The other two bedrooms were combined to become one main interlinked room. The dry kitchen is furnished with Marble top counters with solid Nyatoh cabinet doors. This open-kitchen concept eliminates the need for a conventional dining table with a feature island. Recessed ledge behind the sofa denies the owner the need for a coffee table, thus freeing even more floor space. Although seemingly simple or minimalist, the TV console packs a punch when it comes to practicality & usage. Compartments for consoles or media players at located on both wings, closed off with louvred door for ventilation and remote control usage. Media points (USB, HDMI ) that’s connected to the TV, are also available at the recessed ledge. As high-rise residential units becomes smaller, our strategy has always been to minimise the use of different materials and colours. With the approach, the detailed veins of the marble top, the grains & colour of all veneer cladding naturally forms the texture of the interior space.
