Japandi Design
The essence of this Interior Design project embodies the elements of Japandi. An interior art form that fuses together both Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian functionality. A blend of two cultures that are rooted in simplicity, nature and comfort. A space that innately communicates openness, clean lines and a ‘less is more’ lifestyle.
One that whispers the Nordic warmth of ‘Hygge’ and the eastern philosophy of Wabi-sabi, centered around the beauty of imperfection and natural symbolisation. A fine-tuned and well-balanced sanctuary that welcomes the owner to unwind amongst the peace and tranquility it so reflects. A room that dines with nature’s elements and aesthetics.
The high bar, relaxed lounge and natural, rustic dining area makes perfect for multi-functional living. Where craftsmanship meets purpose. Where visual meets sensory. Where each curated material and furniture evokes a feeling of calmness. Embracing muted colour palettes and tonal subtlety that pays respect to Giorgio Morandi’s work.
Behind this ‘intentional’ design is cement-based Pandomo flooring used to compliment the open, high ceilings and seamless interiors. Suzaka and Vasari paint were used for the walls to give a sophisticated, textured finish and Akemi Uchi fabrics for the curtains to bring out the ambience and purity of the home. To finish, the designer used Admira for the furniture for elegant quality and long lasting durability.Japandi Design
