Project Details
Designed for Bayu Sutera, this show unit terrace showcases an ordinary home with an extraordinary touch of timeless design. The use of materials of different nature, such as rattan webbing on timber and metal for the cabinet doors sets a rural vibe with modern twist.
Rattan is a traditional material used in various items from the beginning of civilization. It is a material that is soft to the touch and strong against force. Rattan is found in furniture, decorative items, stationary, cutlery and more. However, as new technology and new materials are introduced into our daily lives, we lose touch with rattan, and as such, we lose touch of of a part of culture and tradition that was so deeply rooted in our nature.
When we introduce rattan as a featured material to our cabinets, the act of opening these doors to the shelves subconsciously reminds us of our rural roots. Implementing rattan into our design transcends time, making it timeless and mindful setting a humble yet elegant tone when used with modern materials.
This double-storey unit with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths includes a connected living and dining space seamlessly connected through the use of similar colors and materials, harmonizing these two spaces. The rhythmic use of colors and shapes brings life into the bedrooms, making them warm, intimate and also exciting.Designed for Bayu Sutera, this show unit terrace showcases an ordinary home with an extraordinary touch of timeless design.
