I met Oriwise/Michael Ng through Qanvast platform at GE Mall in late 2018. After further meeting with Michael Ng, I was finally ready to accept their quotation , and I signed on the dotted line on 1 NOv 2018. It take a few days of money transfer for me to complete the 50% deposit to signify the commencement of the project. Michael later on gave me the schedule. The idea is for the bedroom to be completed by 23 December, and the rest of living room and audio/game rooms by end of January. The whole month of NOvember will be for carpenter to build the cabinet before installing in the bedroom early Decmber. On the 7th of December, we were informed by Michael that Oriwise may not want to proceed with the project as the margin is too small for them. I told Michael that Oriwise should terminate the contract if they wish to. However Oriwise did not notify me officially. So I waited for the delivery of my room cabinet. Supposedly by the 10th, I waited on the 12th, also no news. By 15th I am still told that they are still doing the carpentry, and that they would be coming on the 17th after 2 pm. Later on I found actually no work has been done, and that oRiwise has not paid the carpenter, so no one is working on my cabinet at the factory whatsoever. I called Simon Tan on the 17th Decmber and he reiterated that the margin was too small. I told him to terminate the contract and return my deposit. By the 18th December I escalated this to QQanvast in hope that Oriwise will fully return my money. Later Qanvast told me that Oriwise will return my deposit. On the 26th Joyce contacted me with some document that I need to sign before they give me the cheque. I ask her to bank in the cheque quickly so that I could get a new contractor. I have by then wasted at least 2 months. They however did not act until the 6:16 pm on the27th Dec and the cheque was cleared only by 1 January 2019. Joyce showed me the cheque dated 21 Decmber, and yet they took 10 more days to do the needful even after I pleaded with Oriwise for them to promptly return my money, after I signed the document on midday 26th December 1. It was unprofessional of Oriwise to not honour a contract signed by their own officer. Why they did not inform the client early on in NOvember, and waited until 17th December when I contacted Simon Tan (when things are not moving) to tell me. 2. They also dragged their feet in banking the cheque. I have specifically asked for them to bank in by 3 pm on 26th, and when not done, by 3 pm on the 27th, and yet, they only did not at 6:16 pm on the 27th 3. I paid my 50% deposit and yet they kept my money and not paid their carpenter. 4. While Oriwise has been unprofessional, I applaud Michael Ng for being a professional through out the debacle. Renovation not done, contract terminated after nearly 2 months. Thank you. Rahman Hariri
