Project Details
Using three elements – serene white, sheen silver metal and warm red wood – has certainly created a simple yet tasteful gesture to the double stories linked house of the professional couple & their lovely daughters. The space, which is characterized by height ceilings and large windows, receives abundant natural light during the day. The renovation sought to maintain the ambiance bright and comfortable while utilizing every inch of the space in the limited room for their daily needs.
The new staircase come with tempered glass handrail and having the solid merbau wood steps extended to the 11-foot-long TV shelf, connected to fluted wall panel and a full height pivot door to delineate the study room from the rest of the space for client’s work-related online meetings while the kids can still enjoy their favourite TV show in the living room. An element that enables the visual reading of the space is certainly the joinery of hidden LED strips fixtures running through the staircase that soften the heavy tone of dark red solid wood from the white surrounding yet refining the entire staircase structure with luminescence & reflections of the light casts on the transparent glass handrail. The entire scene is carefully tailored.
Kitchen cabinets were furnished in anodised aluminium sheet & frame for easy maintenance while its slightly sheen surface reduce the oppression of full height storage in the tiny kitchen. The glass panel & sliding door divide the wet section from the dry kitchen.
The entire concept is all about detail and execution. Rather than a whole lot of stuff that just isn’t up to scratch, this house is designed to kept simple & less in everything, but all of good quality, and smart execution in playing with light & shadow.Using three elements – serene white, sheen silver metal and warm red wood – has certainly created a simple yet tasteful gesture to the double stories linked house of the professional couple & their lovely daughters.
