KEYWORDS | minimal chillex understated elegance curved natural marble light shadow In the tropical heat where every season feels like summer, this airy duplex unit basks in abundant sunlight and circulating air. A 'chillex' couple in their mid-30s, with a clear vision of their ideal home, entrusted us with the design once we reached a consensus. Their relaxed demeanor reflected a confidence that no urge to prove their status. We followed this sense of "ease" in our design, subtly blending it with functionality and materials. The overall space features open layouts, curved corners enveloped in natural marble, wood veneer, and slightly sheen materials like aluminum, softened by sheer curtains to temper the presence of light. We decided to lowered certain parts of the ceiling to create 'wide screen' views and enhance energy efficiency, while curved edges encourage light and airflow. Tall, slender white iron rods not only serve as safety barriers for corner cabinets but also highlight the spatial composition. Smart Wi-Fi controls and sensors govern lighting, appliances, door locks, curtains, CCTV, and also the smart toilet, silently attending to trivial matters, allowing the couple with two young children to effortlessly balance their career and family. The overall color palette remains serene, intended to showcase the characteristics of the materials themselves, accented by feature wall lights, table lamps, artworks, etc., complementing the owners' pursuit of quality with understated elegance. 在四季如夏的热带，这间空中的复式单位享受着充足的阳光与流通的空气。率性的 mid 30's 夫妇对家的理想型颇有概念，但取得共识后就放手让我设计，言谈折射出一种松弛感，一种不需费力证明自身实力的自信。 我的设计取向也就循着这份"松弛感"，轻描淡写让设计隐于功能与材质之后。整体空间以开放式间隔，以自然木皮包覆的弧形转角，反光面料如铝，云石等，辅以纱面窗帘调节，柔和了光的存在感。我让过高的天花局部拉低好营造宽阔视野和节能，同时用弧形处理边缘，引动了光和气流。白色的细长铁杆作为转角橱柜的安全缓冲之余也凸显了空间的构成感。Wifi智能遥控与感应概括了灯光, 家电，门锁，窗帘，监控器和马桶等，不作声息的把琐事安顿好，让有两个小朋友的夫妇对事业与家庭皆游刃有余。整体色调淡然处之，旨在呈现材料本身的特色，当中缀以些许造型特出的壁灯 、台灯 、艺术品等，以配合主人追求优质却低调的个性。 -- Nov 2023
