My wife and I start our ID sourcing process for our new condo unit in early 2024. After several weeks of research, we realised that it was an extremely daunting task given the vast availability of IDs and contractors in the market. After countless online review read ups, we finally decided to focus on several well rated reno recommendation platforms - Qanvast, Atap and Recommend.my. Despite focusing on just 3 ID platforms, we ended up contacting about 40 ID firms (out of which 20 of them expressed interest in our project based on alignment of our budget, design theme, required timeline, etc). Being an analytical freak by personality and profession, an evaluation matrix was created to further rate the shortlisted IDs based on 1. Design, 2. Fees, 3. Credentials & recognition, 4. Online ratings, 5. Designer personality, 6. Experience, 7. Timeliness and 8. Practicality and we then embarked on a tedious process of ID meetings and site visits. Throughout the ID selection process, we were left with a positive, yet lasting impression by ID representative, Jolin Chua of Loew Associates, due to the following factors even before formal engagement: 1. Jolin and the firm would make an effort to arrange a site visit and record thorough measurement of the project site (illustrating genuine interest in our project since Day 1 compared to some other firms that requires upfront payment to even make a site visit) 2. The site visit was highly interactive. Throughout the session, Jolin was proactively probing our design preference, living habits, colour themes, and was diligently noting every single details. 3. After several follow up discussions over WA, we were invited to their office for a mood borad presentation (again, quite a number of the other IDs were unwilling to come this far without a fee) 4. The mood board presentation was highly professional with a wide array of building materials lined up in the meeting room so we can visualise and feel the proposed reno materials alongside the moodboard design concept. What's even more impressive was that the designer actually took merticulous note of every single major & minor design requirements and succintly infused them into the moodboard! 5. Finally, despite all the effort from the ID to this stage without a single fee, their eventual quotation not only covered all our design / reno elements, they were also one of the most competitive among the 20 shortlisted IDs with reasonable payment schedule within our budget. As a plus point, our ID was also comfortable in meeting our 1.5 months reno timeline. Our ID was formally appointed subsequently and from that day on, we had the privilege to experience the true professionalism of Loew Associates. Jolin firstly created a WhatsApp working group and we were introduced to another instrumental team member, Ryan as our project director. The team then provided a detailed gantt chart that broke down every single reno task and timeline leading up to our target move in date. The team was extremely communicative almost on a daily basis to keep us updated on the reno progress with videos / photos. As we probably had expected, 99.9% of the reno projects typically do not go according to plan and in between the renovation, we went through multiple rounds of design amendment requests, advice seeking on furniture and fixtures selection and workmanship refinement requests. At times we would unknowingly left message in the WA Group during late nights (my bad, Ryan and Jolin) and the team never failed to respond to our countless inquiries in no time. What I appreciated that most throughout this process was that Ryan and Jolin were always willing to patiently listen to our suggestions / concerns and always finding the best possible solution. At times when we may come up with radical / non-practical amendment ideas, the team was still able to address them in a pragmatic manner and always strive to come up with a well rounded solution. Loew's commitment to quality was also highly commendable whereby the team would conduct regular merticulous QCs at every stage of the reno (Loew's OCD as Jolin puts it) and would instruct the contractors to make immediate corrections or amendments without us even noticing at times. These extra steps undertaken by our ID allowed us to smoothly complete the project well within the timeline with a full peace of mind. Our ID even offered to provide complimentary cleaning before the move in date. With the esteemed dedication of our ID team, we were finally greeted by our dream home in mid May 2024, which encapsulates everything that we've hoped for well within our budget. 3 months on since moving in, the positive feedback was also extended from all our visiting relatives and friends which is a great testiment of our ID's hardwork. In hindsight, appointing Loew Associates as our ID was one of our best decisions in recent times and I wish the very best for the firm in years to come.

For someone who is not based in KL, Apple as the ID in-charge, she is able to provide the necessary details and consistently arrange weekly virtual discussion to discuss all the suggestions. Ideas suggested are suitable without much comments. Apple is a trustable ID who is able to deliver the layout plans, quotation, monitoring of the renovation progress and following up on the tiny details. Well done!

The designer firm was introduced by Qanvast. My first meeting with my designer, Jolin, was via Zoom. My requirements were listed, and the design theme was noted. During the second meeting, estimated prices were provided, and the firm was chosen out of five other designers/companies. I was very happy with the 3D pictures shown, and Jolin began planning and arranging the materials needed. Any urgent rectifications during renovation were promptly attended to, and issues were sorted out perfectly. The service and workmanship quality are good. What I really appreciate is that she would accompany me during furniture purchases, helping to pick the color tone and even screening through materials to ensure that the designs matched well. I think she went way beyond her line of duty to ensure that my home is perfectly built and is as beautiful and comfortable as possible. Having someone like Jolin who not only listens to my requirements but also provides valuable input and assistance throughout the entire journey can make a huge difference in creating my dream home. Her attention to detail and willingness to accompany me during furniture purchases demonstrate her commitment to ensuring every aspect of my home reflects my vision and style. It was truly a very pleasant experience working with her.
