This 1850 sqft condominium by Interior+ Design illustrates how a basic palette of grey, dark wood and black can lend a dramatic effect and make a space look exquisite. In the living room, dark wooden panelling on the walls cleverly disguised the doors that lead towards the bedrooms. The bedrooms are tastefully designed with similar dark wooden materials and colour scheme tying the space together.

Despite the dark tones, the beauty of this home stands out during the day with the contrast of direct sunlight peeking into the space through the windows, and at night, when the ambiance of the space is created by an elaborate artificial light scheme. Meanwhile, gold details on the walls and furniture add subtle lustre and keep the space from looking too sombre.

2. A zen-like haven amidst the city’s hustle and bustle

This zen-like condominium by The Grid Studio is a cosy dwelling away from the noise of the city. It features uncomplicated furnishing design and glossy floor and statement wall which lend a subtle high-end look.

To create a visually neat and uncluttered look, the designer fitted each room with concealed doorways that blend seamlessly with the walls. It also aids in the elimination of the nuance of opening doors with door pulls or knobs. Furthermore, the floor-to-ceiling drapes filter direct sunlight into the home, while providing privacy. The use of materials such as marble, leather and oak give the space an organic feel, while the overall pared-down design promotes calm and tranquility.

3. An elegant contemporary home with muted tones

Well-appointed modern details lend this family home by Box Design Studio an elegant feel. In the living room, the L-shaped sofa, grey area rug, and oak panel statement wall behind the wall-mounted TV give the space a cosy atmosphere. It also includes a window bench where the owners can enjoy the outdoor scenery while reading a good book.

While earthy tones dominate the common areas, pastel pink and blue are chosen for the more private zones such as the bedrooms.

4. A cosy rental unit with functional (and aesthetic) loose furnishing

The owner of this condominium commissioned Interiorscapers to design this condominium to attract potential renters. The designer proposed a mix of contemporary and Scandinavian design, which allowed for a balance of form and function while also giving the owner more flexibility for future improvements.

To provide ample storage, built-in cabinets were installed, and the majority of the furniture is made of wood materials, which adds warmth to the space. Each room comes with loose furniture that is visually connected to the built-ins. The painted feature walls in each room elevate the bare walls, while the green curtains add a fresh feel to the space.

5. A minimalist home filled with monochromatic hues

This condominium by Josh Thompson Interiors features a minimalist monochromatic look which is very relaxing to look at, especially after a long day at work.

The light colour scheme pairs nicely with the low-height furniture, clean-lined custom built-ins, and minimalist lighting fixtures. The combination of these elements contributes to the illusion of free flowing space. Meanwhile, the natural light that pours in through the window in the living room helps to brighten the space and give it a homey feel.

6. A family home with spacious open layout

Surface R designed this modern space with an open plan layout that combines the living room, dining room, office space and dry kitchen in one large space. This enables all family members to spend time together even if they are doing their own things. A chrome mirrored partition separates the office from the dry kitchen while visually expanding the room.

The rest of the condo is designed in a similar neutral colour scheme of beige, grey, and brown, with plenty of greenery to make the home feel like a tranquil retreat.

7. An artistic home that proves there’s no such thing as too much decor

This 3600 sqft residence by Mil Design & Construction reflects the owner's passion for art and decor. The designer installed open shelves and cabinets in each room, allowing the homeowners to display decor pieces throughout the house. Meanwhile, the grey walls provide a neutral backdrop for the owner's artwork collection.

There are also many modern elements found throughout the house. This can be seen in the floor-to-ceiling mirror walls (which help to give the living room a more spacious feel), marble elements for the furniture and shiny metallic details on the light fixtures and decor.
