We started our renovation with PHD Posh Home Design in September 2023 after consulting with 6 other interior designers. PHD stood out, primarily because of Johnny's compelling pitch. His design concepts aligned perfectly with our vision, and his genuine passion and sincerity were evident in his demeanor and work. Despite facing challenges during the renovation, Johnny and his team persevered, maintaining high standards and demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility. Special mention goes to Ian, the intern, who contributed significantly. Post-renovation, Johnny remained accessible for rectifications and advice, making our experience with PHD Posh Home Design a pleasure. We wholeheartedly recommend them for their honesty, responsibility, and passion. Kudos to Johnny, Ian, and the entire team of contractors.

It’s has been 3 months since I moved in to my new place that was renovated by Jayson, Johnny and team. While searching for reliable ID through Qanvast, PHD Posh Home Design was one of the firm that was recommended to us. Jayson did a fantastic job for designing our house, accommodating to our requests, provided his professional recommendations and most importantly, the whole cost fall within our budget. Prior to the renovation works, Johnny was our main POC between us and the contractors to arrange for all the works to be done. He was meticulous in ensuring the contractors delivered the final layout, up to the finest details. He was also able to provide his expertise and knowledge on various aspects of renovation tasks and accommodating to our requests. The whole renovation was delivered within 2 months as promised. Till date, he was very responsive to us on post renovation issue. Kudos to Jayson, Johnny and his team for their excellent works done. Never regret our choice to engage them. Highly recommended and they are definitely our first choice to recommend to our family and friends for renovation works.

Working with PHD Posh Home Design, Johnny has been an absolute delight, and I cannot recommend their services highly enough. From the moment we first met, Johnny displayed an exceptional level of professionalism, expertise, and passion for their craft. Love the work done by Team PHD. What's most important was that they ensure the entire renovation was smooth and completed on time with almost no defect. In fact, they go the extra mile to cater for my last minute requests to ensure that the handover could still meet the original planned date. I would like to thank PHD Team for the great job transforming my Maisonette gorgeously. Despite we gave them a short notice of lesser than 10weeks.. they managed to pull in off within the timeline. Great workmanship & the team kept us in the loop of every detail around the house. Our main objective was maximum natural light ard the house & create more space & storage in the kitchen area. We had to revamp the entire look of the Maisonette. PHD team definitely did what we wanted & even more than expected. They were so great in options & details. Open kitchen concept , island table , bar counter top near courtyard , cupboard storage space & even the hinges of the kitchen cupboard were branded that we were notified of. Thank you PHD TEAM for the top notch work. Definitely we would recommend to family & Friends.

Whilst searching through for a reliable and credible Reno ID, we chanced upon PhD posh home designs. Engaging them was a bliss in fact, from the first interaction to the very last end of tasks involved. Amongst many others, PhD seem to indulge us in an array of ideas for our condo unit and that too within our budget. From the presentation to the work done, team PhD have been very coherent and timely with their schedule. And further request for rectification of certain ideas were not turned down but was rather completed brilliantly within the stipulated timeframe. Considering to work around a small space in the current age of homes, PhD was excellent in creating a beautiful haven for us. Kudos ! Will strongly recommend

This is the second time I have engaged PHD Posh Home Design for my house’s renovation. This time was a smaller project but PHD maintains the same high level of standard. The assistant Johnny came down to do the measurement and discussion without much delays. The carpentry was done in less than 2 weeks time in order to cater to my schedule before my girl turns 1 year old. I have a last minute request of installing a CCTV at the corner of the full height ceiling and PHD acceded to my request without giving me any issue. Also, PHD gone extra miles to assist with the wall painting when there is a hiccup in the colour quote. Overall, I am very grateful that PHD has a very helpful and co-operative team to work with client and most importantly their after service is fantastic (to ensure that everything works well). I highly recommend PHD Posh Home Design to whoever looking for a responsible and quality assured contractor for renovation.

A very big thank you to both PHD Posh Home Design Pte Ltd and our designer Edmund for helping us to build our dream home! Nothing beat going back HOME after a hard working day, to our own personal spacious and cozy space…. Being the first time home owners, my hubby and myself were quite overwhelmed by the whole renovation process. We had our own ideas but we did not know how they should be executed. Edmund has been very patient and attentive to listen and understand to our needs and wants for a start before proposing his ideas. We have been involved throughout the whole journey during our discussion. He said he is not the only one to build our dream home, it’s WE doing it together. He never revoked our ideas as he mentioned we should let all ideas (good or bad) flow during discussion. His eventual proposal incorporated what we need and want, but also proposed alternate suggestions if he thought was not feasible or he had a better ideas which he wanted to share. After the renovation started, we basically hand off and let him manage the whole process. In between there may be some hiccups. However, he had been quick to rectify those issues. Any decisions needed to be made, he will also consulted us first before proceeding. We felt very respectful as he never made any major decisions without our knowledge. Overall, the whole renovation process had been smooth, and our dream home has been handed over to us earlier than the expected date, so that we can walk through and did the necessary rectifications before we officially moved in. We couldn’t be happier, and we will want to say a big thank you to both PHD Posh Home Design Pte Ltd and Edmund, and give them a big like!

Signed up with PHD Posh Home Design after meeting Johnny and Edmund. Able to communicate with them from the get go. Quotation was detailed and clear on what can be done and what would entail extra cost. Practical home renovation ideas were recommended which was what I needed. Edmund is very patient and responsible. He responded to all my questions and demands promptly. Edmund also made sure to communicate to me on changes and gave me timely updates throughout the whole renovation process. Johnny has been very helpful and assisted in fixing and touching up minor details above and beyond his duties. The whole renovation process was well managed and completed on time. We have an overall good experience with PHD Posh as communication and the arrangement between vendors was smooth. Although I gave them a short period for the renovation but they managed to complete it within the time frame. When we couldn't make a decision on certain design, they provide their view and share certain design for us to review. After the renovation, they still keep in touch with us providing assistance whenever we need. Thanks PHD.

Our ID Johnny has been extremely professional, friendly and responsive throughout our entire designing and renovation process. Even though our renovation happened during the Covid period with lots of limitations and restrictions, Johnny and his team did his very best to make necessary arrangements to rush through the work and accommodate to all of our requests. We also appreciate his professionalism and sincerity in proposing practical solutions and advice to meet our needs and requests. He has also been very patient in listening to our ideas and communicated promptly with us. The workmanship provided by the team is excellent and it was truly wonderful working with Johnny and the PHD team. We really appreciate all of his effort, thank you Johnny and team!

Engaging PHD has been painful with several lapses in their project management and quality of work. We engaged Johnny in 2019, and while the works were meant to be completed in early 2020, before Covid-19 had hit, until today, May 2021, it is still in progress. It has been a very painful 1.5 years of working on this, and we are posting this review because they have stopped responding after promising to rectify the issues that arose. The nightmare started once the works started - Johnny often went ahead with decisions without our consent. For example, he fixed up a glass mesh that was unsightly in the toilet, and after we had requested a change, he had insisted that it was the only one that was HDB approved and tried not to rectify it. It wasn't difficult to show him otherwise that there are other glass panels that could be approved. Many of these back-and-forths then resulted in some delays in the renovation works, and we had to push back the dates of handover. Also, the measurements that he had quoted us for vs. what was created were very off, and the lighting points etc. were also miscalculated - he overcharged us by hundreds of dollars, and if we were not careful and very precise in looking over the quote, we would have wasted a lot of money. Up to this point, things still seemed quite "normal", we understood that all renovations had some form of delays, and this form of marking up was quite common. Come early 2020, we did what was supposed to be the final inspection of the house before handover. The inspection eventually took a few days - there was absolutely no quality control or checks done on the carpentry made, many bumps and cracks were found all over, and we had to check it all one by one. Johnny had made no effort in ensuring that the works were properly done, even where there were very obvious quality issues (e.g., obviously warped sides, unstable shelves). This amount of work that we had to pour into the house was not what we had expected at all - after all we hired an ID for a reason. We chose to move into the place although it was not entirely ready because our rental lease was up. After moving in, life got even more painful. We started to realize that many things were already starting to fail us, even a month after living in this home. There were many, but we'll just mention the three here that was really terrible: 1. The laminate on the kitchen cabinet doors had to be replaced at least two times (and even now after it was replaced it is still warped - AGAIN). We had asked before the fabrication if the design would be an issue and was told no by Johnny. It is apparent that he is either inexperienced or made suggested quickly to get things done. 2. The curtain lengths were wrong. Granted, this was outsourced to a contractor, but what really got us was how the contractors came unannounced - mind you, this was during the pandemic. We live with our elderly mum and she had no way of communicating with them, and given that there was no prior notice it was extremely ridiculous that people would just show up at our door and expect to be let in. The first time they came, they came with a ready set of curtains to be put up, when they haven't even taken the measurements before. Unsurprisingly, after they put it up and realized the curtains did not fit again, they left with the same set of curtains. The next time they came, they came with the right lengths of curtains, but with holes in them, which defeated the purpose of the blackout curtain. It took them a total of 3 trips to get the lengths right. Yes, the quality of the contractor is the issue here, but the fact that the coordination of the dates that they would come was so painful and lacking on Johnny's part 3. We also told him that the balcony window partition had to be done properly as rainwater had seeped in previously. It was either ignored or forgotten because there were leaks, which seeped into the carpentry which resulted in water damage to our marble tiles and worse, termite infestation. We've lived in this house for more than 20 years, and we've never had such a problem before. From the first day we noticed the leaks, we had informed Johnny several times to rectify the issue but he was slow to follow up and had to be chased multiple times. When we finally got him to fabricate the carpentry, he committed to one deadline but delayed it again without providing a reason. When we questioned the delay, he blamed it on the workers he engaged. There would be days when we would go without a reply from him. There was no heads up that things were delayed, no proper scheduling (and even if there were dates given they were often not kept to without notice). The termite infestation was the last straw and we decided to stop working with Johnny due to his incompetence. We approached Jayson for help and he swiftly agreed to rectify all the mistakes that were made. He also agreed to reimburse us for terminal removal after acknowledging the lapse that had occured. We thought things would proceed more smoothly from there. My family stayed with this company despite how torturous it had been because we thought at least they were responsive and willing to make changes due to their errors, and it would have been more tedious to engage another ID. To our utter disappointment, in Mar 2021 after agreeing to rectify changes to the carpentry, Jayson had stopped responding with follow up. When we followed up, there was no response. We noticed that the number on their Facebook page had been changed and we messaged the new number. The message was read on 24 Apr but there was no response. We messaged another two times to no avail. Even if there are big changes within the company, there would have been at least a notice that you needed some time to respond. The bottomline of this is: PHD is unprofessional and irresponsible. They have absolutely terrible project management, are unreliable and untrustworthy. It has been extremely disappointing to work with them, and I would recommend looking for other IDs. No one deserves to have such a painful renovation experience. Jayson, or management of PHD - please respond to us. We are continuing to expect that you will honor your agreements with us to replace the carpentry given the amount of trouble that it had brought us.
