Begin with 5 firms through Qanvast, most contacted us initially but only Superhome Design continued to follow up. Superhome Design was sincere and did not request for any sort of downpayment prior sharing/showing their designs and ideas, unlike other firms that we sourced separately ourselves. The carpentry design in their showroom displayed workmanship qualities and captured our attention. Stephanie was candid, took our requirements seriously into considerations and came up with alternatives which saved us some cost in some areas. Although some designs in some areas were more of what we expected (cost too) but it turned out to be awesome! Most of our enquiries were addressed throughout the renovation, including design and dimensions for furnishing/stuff to keep. She also offered to source some of the items and liaising with other parties without having to involved us ,saved us a lot of our time. Overall the renovation process were fine, areas in tight spaces were well thought of and outcome was close to plan. Their carpenter was also skilful and able to point out possible issues during discussion stage. Some carpentry works were built and pieced together with lot of effort and patience rather than offering "bought off the shelf solution". Glad to have known Ethan, whom was also involved in some of design concept and appreciated his honest opinions. Really appreciate the relationship built along the renovation journey. There is no 100% perfect but could be improved with more timely planning of certain trades could shorten the whole renovation. Certain areas with more detailed workmanship would be great and improve overall experiences.

Nathaniel from Superhome Design is a young designer whom is very willing to listen to our needs and design accordingly to what we want. He also keeps our Budget in mind and does not overcharge us. We have a tight timeline to work with and he delivers accordingly. If you have any renovation work I strongly recommend him. He gives some positive feedback too and will make your money spent very well worth.

The experience was an absolute horror! From the first few rounds of discussions, we felt that as an ID, he understood our concept and what we were looking for, so after speaking to close to 20 ID’s, we decided to go ahead and work with Superhome. Once the ID received our job, he was late in delivering a lot of things. His attitude was also very bad, telling us that he doesn’t need to make so many revisions on the quotations/drawings, he has the right to stop as and when, and we’ve already asked him for countless of revisions, more than what is within his scope. Secondly, he started work without waiting for us to engage an electrician, when he was the one who told us to engage our own. When we said we want to do the wiring under the tiles, he said he didn’t know of such a thing. He ended up having to hack up the floor tiles which he has already laid, because he didn’t consult us on the timeline. I requested for hexagon patterns for the floor, and he couldn’t even be bothered to show me the design he is supposed to come up with. I had a mix of lighter and darker shade tiles, so I wanted to see the generic “look” and where he proposed each lighter spot before he started, but he told me he doesn’t do such things, I can just go to my house, and mark with masking tape on the sections I want lighter. We also searched for our own PE for hacking kitchen area. Upon submission of all materials to him, we asked for updates, he told me it’s not his duty to chase HDB, and I can easily google HDB’s number to ask myself. With door work, he decided to go ahead with handles decided by him, without consulting the home owners at all. Many things in my house, he just went ahead without consulting me or my husband. When it came to rectification, he hasn’t even completed the work, and he kept chasing for final payment. I was engaged with work, and he called nonstop 20 times. Acting like an absolute child. His attitude is the absolute worst I have ever encountered in a human being, not even ID, I believe any other adult out there will have more manners than him at anytime. I will ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend this ID firm, and definitely not recommend my ID. The experience was the worst I’ve ever had, and during the whole discussion until completion of the renovation, I was pregnant, so much so that I refused to talk to him because I was getting increasingly agitated at his lack of professionalism and attitude.

Renovation completion was delayed by about 3 weeks. Contractor was given ample time to complete but did not start work until very last minute despite constant checking & chasing. The painting job was badly done and ceiling fan was not well fix. Most unsatisfied was the main entrance wooden door painting was horrible, though the contractor try to redo but was half hearted work. I have to be very persistent & insist contractor to fix unsatisfied areas otherwise it will be ignore & not mended. Overall experience is unfavourable. Work quality does not worth the value.

I chose to work with Ethan as his quote was more attractive than the rest. Design wise, I was looking for a simple design, which wasn't Ethan's forte. His communication was prompt, but what could be better is his project management ability. He promised that it would be done by a certain date and there was a delay for over a month as he was waiting for several parties to start work. Liaising with the sub-contractors in this aspect can be improved. Workmanship wise, I would rate as above average, but there's room for improvement as there were stains and scratches on the finishing. He attended to it the moment I flagged out and post-reno rectification works are currently being carried out. If you're working on a tight budget, you may consider Ethan.

Communication was a priority for me and I felt I could click and communicate well with Stephanie. I felt comfortable speaking to her and could voice out my thoughts freely. On the design aspect, I could tell she had really thought through scenarios and could advise what was indeed best for us. She managed to deliver what I wanted, and her keen sense of design made selection of colours easy for us - I simply told her we wanted a certain colour and she could pick out the right shades. I find it helpful as I'm unfamiliar with interior design and could only see things from my perspective. She was also prompt in her response. Area of improvement; perhaps practicality - there was an oversight where we needed more outlets for wires in the TV console area. We thought she could highlight this to us before we proceed with the carpentry. When asked to drill an extra hole, she did it with no questions asked. The quality of the workmanship is good too. I'll definitely recommend Stephanie.

I chose Stephanie as we had good chemistry with her. During our first meetup, she understood my wife's requirements and hence we decided to go with her. Overall, the renovation was pretty smooth and easy. i've recommended Stephanie to a friend who is renovating.

I have decided to engage Ethan as they were pretty helpful and their proposal is very professional too. They followed up really closely too. Ethan is creative, responsive and willing to fix any problems we have. Project management is within expectations, although we overran for 1-2 weeks. I understand that delay is inevitable. Workmanship is decent too. His contractors were a little more blur though. They accidentally threw an important item for the kitchen hob and we had to dig through the trash to retrieve it. Ethan wasn't at the site on weekends when we visit too. Overall renovation was smooth and I'll recommend Ethan.

I was won over by the designs and colour scheme Stephanie proposed. The other interior designers I met didn't have the passion and I did not like their work attitude. Stephanie was friendly and responsible. After-sales service was good to. When one of the laminates on my platform popped up, she quickly arranged for her contractors to fix it within 1-2 days. Project management was good too; the only delay was from HDB side on the wall hack permit. Workmanship is good too. My renovation is smooth and I'll definitely recommend Stephanie.

I chose to work with Lyn as I had a good vibe about her. She is thorough and transparent in her work, and her quote was reasonable. She proposed good designs, knew my expectations and was prompt in addressing concerns and enquiries I have. But what I'm not too happy about it was the lack of timely updates on the renovation progress, and her presence at the site. I later found out that she was in the midst of transitioning from her previous firm to this, and was busy completing her projects on hand. Workmanship is above average; so far so good. I wouldn't mind recommending Lyn.

I chose Daniel because his quotation fit my budget. I knew what I had wanted in the design and was looking for someone to carry out the works. There were a bit of delays from HDB but Daniel and his colleague (assuming a project manager) resolved them. The renovation was overall easy for me. If I had any issues, I'd turn to the project manager who will then liaised with Daniel if need be. While the renovation turned out fine, they didn't come across as someone outstanding, I believe there are better designers out there.

Stephanie was the only one who understood our design requirements and tight budget without compromising on quality. Looking back, we had little issues with the quality of the workmanship despite living in close to a year! What stood out for me was Stephanie's friendliness and how she listened to what we wanted and delivered it. She did not push for designs that require us to stretch our budget. What was really commendable was, we were working on a tight timeline as I wanted the renovation to be done before I am due for labour, and Stephanie took the initiative to head down to the site everyday to push the contractors, making sure there was no excuse for delay. She provided timely updates and I could tell that she could manage her team of contractors when they started to lag behind the schedule. The project was delivered one week before I went into labour! The quality of the workmanship is great too, and she has the eyes for design details when it comes to the measurements and practicality. Without a heartbeat, I will recommend Stephanie.
