Ave was always highly responsive throughout the entire renovation process, responding to us and liaising with the contractors at all hours She is very experienced and made the entire process very easy for us through her insightful recommendations and skillful eye for marrying design and practicality. She went the extra mile multiple times to accommodate our requests and was frequently on site to check on progress and update us Would definitely engage her again in future. Highly recommended!

For our 4-room renovation project, we had to work around some challenging parameters: enlarge & brighten up the dining area while having a guest room, and keep the design harmonious while preserving the prior owners’ well-maintained living room cabinetry and floor tiles. On top of that, we also had a tight timeline to hit. Ave proved up to the task, combining a strong design sense with very capable project management skills. She was able to deliver consistent progress with transparency without sacrificing the creative flair of her proposed design. With the initial proposal, Ave impressed us with a distinct concept that incorporated our preferred aesthetic and solved our main requirements. She had strong perspectives on what worked and what didn’t, which matched what we were looking for in a designer. The initial mock-ups and floor plans were high-quality, and her detailed walkthrough gave us the confidence to go with her. During the actual renovation process, she was very organised and communicative, which was crucial due to our time constraints. She had an extensive network of contractors and a very structured flow of work, prompting us for discussions at the right timings (eg for electrical works, lighting, and carpentry). Progress was quick and visible, and we never had worries about being delayed. As with any project, there were some changes along the way. Ave recommended a few aesthetic additions that really brought together the whole design. For us, while we kept to the original proposal for the most part, we also decided we wanted a lighter overall look. After some back-and-forth, Ave was able to propose an alternative style that kept our design cohesive while lightening up the overall feel. Functionally, we had good collaboration on major considerations (carpentry, lighting, box-ups). There were some secondary items that we did have to raise ourselves (aircon drainage pipe placement, exhaust fans), but Ave was also able to offer solutions for these. I can’t stress enough that Ave was able to pull off this renovation project in a challenging time-frame, and the handover was actually done about a week before our deadliest deadline, and so we had the flexibility to move in over the course of a few days instead of cramming everything into a single day. Budget-wise, we went a bit over, but Ave helped us manage it well such that we were always aware of trade-offs with going for less or more expensive options, so there were no big surprises. The resulting output also feels premium and not skimped on. We went with Ave for her strong, opinionated perspectives, design knowledge, creative solutions, and eye for aesthetic. Through the course of the project, we were impressed by her strong project management skills, tactical problem solving, and strength of contractors. We appreciated her open sharing of trade-offs & recommendations during decision-making. We think she works the best with clients who want a very strong perspective on design, and who are willing to engage and challenge each other in order to come up with the best design & solutions. If you’re such a client, you’d do very well going with Ave!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Ave on a renovation project and couldn't be happier with the results. From the initial idea to the final execution, Ave proved to be a true professional who understood our vision and brought it to life seamlessly. - Project overview: We approached Ave with the challenge of transforming our space into a mid-century modern home with a touch of Japandi simplicity. Our biggest concern was the kitchen, which had an impractical layout and minimal countertop space for food prep. We needed someone to give us the best possible idea for the space we could work with, and Ave was up to the task. In fact, she went above and beyond. - Initial impressions: Our first impressions of Ave were positive as we browsed through her portfolio. It was evident that she had a good grasp on combining aesthetics with practicality, which was exactly what we were looking for. - Collaboration: Ave's approach was refreshing. She started with a Zoom meeting to get to know us better. She took the time to understand our lifestyle and the elements that would make our space uniquely ours. This is what set her apart from the other IDs we approached — while they just wanted to copy the “inspo” images we gave them, Ave took the time to understand why we chose the styles we like, and how we live our day-to-day. - Design concept: By giving her some visuals and the general types of objects, colours, and ambience that would be central to the home (a burnt orange sofa, indoor plants, bright and airy space), she managed to come up with a design that was lovely, taking into account things we have said. In the end, her design incorporated very "nature and stone" elements, evident in her proposed colour scheme (grey travertine, light wood tones), elevated by smooth, rounded edges. This was very much “us” in our eyes, so I would say she definitely nailed the concept. We were very happy with her proposed final ideas! - Execution: While it wasn't a lengthy project and it went by very fast, we never once felt like she wasn’t looking after the project. Communication was great. Any issues that her workers ran into would be brought up fast, and alternative solutions presented to us were sensible without compromising too much. Craftsmanship was good, with no major issues. Very impressed at how quickly everything came together. - Timeliness and project management: We do recognise that our project wasn't as big as a complete overhaul; we were mainly renovating the entryway, kitchen and dining/living area, and only adding small improvements elsewhere. Nonetheless, we were impressed by her organised scheduling. We also love that she was very frank with us quite early on before the renovation about what would be possible, what was not going to work, what we would regret in the future, and other considerations. Bringing these things up early in the planning stage is very important, and this speaks to her preparedness and experience. - Budget and cost transparency: Everything fell within our budget and her itemised breakdown of everything made it easy to figure out what we needed to cut out. Actually, we were more concerned with whether she could do everything within our short timeframe of 2 months. We had a very specific move-in date, so we didn't want to be too ambitious by adding too many things to the list. The fact that she completed the job well before the deadline told us we probably could have been more ambitious with adding more, but we were trying to be safe! That said, Ave certainly works fast! - The results: We couldn't be happier with the final result. The design was even more beautiful in person than in the 3D renders. Ave has done a truly great job, making sure to deliver something to be proud of! - Post-completion support: We had an early handover. After moving in we noticed some small things needed a round of rectification (as expected) and we were very pleased with how smooth, easy, and efficient the rectification works have been. - Conclusion and recommendation: Do we love Ave's work? Yes! Very much. She was easy to work with, has a professional attitude, provided the right amount of care and attention, and was very responsive throughout the entire process. We weren't looking for someone who could just replicate ideas blindly; we were looking for someone who could give strong input on design choices and functionality. The fact that she shared so much of her opinions during the design planning stage made us know very early on that she was the right person for the job. Would we work with her again on future projects? Yes, yes! 100%.

We have decided Ave as our ID after meeting up with multiple IDs. It turns out to be a great decision as Ave exercises great patience with our endless queries and advises us timely on the potential issues that we may face. On top of that, she will provide us with an alternative solution to overcome the potential issues. As homeowners, we have a rough vision of what we want in our house and she was able to incorporate her ideas into ours and execute it seamlessly without any devastating hiccups. At the start of the renovation process, a detailed timeline was given to us for each phase, e.g. tiling work, carpentry work and surprisingly, no works are delayed despite the festive period. Ave is also very detailed oriented and we felt safe by handing our house to her for our renovation. If opportunity arises in the future, we will certainly love to work with her again.

Started our home planning without knowing what we want. We met Ave, whom we showed our bookmarked interior design, she commented that the team we liked across are different. However, with that first meeting, she gathered other usability and requirements, then she brought back and drew a sketchup for us in no time. During the process, what I appreciate most is the information she provides on aesthetics vs. practicality aspects, especially when the decision was hard to make. She is also very prompt in response and watched the site closely when it was near the end of completion. As we had scheduled delivery, she rushed it out for us and even got workers to touch up on the day when we shift in. She informed workers to perform certain job out of the house to reduce dust. She has an eye for design and helped us to achieve a cosy home. She listens to the client and designs accordingly. She is not afraid of troubling herself and ensure things goes right the way it should be. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone looking for an ID.

Having worked with Ave is a pleasure. She is knowledgeable in her role as an ID, has the patience and listen to our needs. Not the pushy kind, always suggest only what is necessary. Thus good control of our budget. 😄 Response is quick and always there when we need suggestions or opinions on buying our furnitures. Quality is considerably good. Overall renovation progress was smooth with some minor hiccups from my aircon side, but she is able to react appropriately. Would recommend her definitely! 😉

We had Ave as our designer and our experience with her was fantastic. She listened to us and made sure to understand our envisioned style and needs; providing thoughtful and useful ideas and suggestions. Ave is evidently very passionate in her work. From planning and designing to final delivery, she was there every step to make sure that everything was executed smoothly. She was also very patient in answering all of our endless questions and was transparent in her communication. She definitely went above and beyond to create a smooth renovation experience for my family. We are all extremely happy with the our renovated home and very glad to have worked with Ave!

Ave was very patient in terms of understanding our ever changing requirements and guided us through the process in detail. She understood roughly what we were looking for and helped us with the designs with visuals and examples. She often visited the site and was on top of all the work that was happening updating us almost on a daily basis about the progress as well as highlighting any issues in advance while also proposing a suitable alternative. My husband and I were really impressed with her time management, she has a schedule detailing each phase and the renovation completed on time allowing us to move in within the deadline we wanted. Ave is very detail oriented and we really enjoyed working with her. It was a really pleasant experience for our first home renovation and we highly recommend her and would love to work with her again.
