If you find it suspicious that Oblivion Lab (a) no longer has an active profile on Qanvast and (b) has 4 perfect reviews submitted on the same date + refer to projects completed at the same time, congratulations, you are already on the right track. The next step is to heed your intuition and steer clear of anyone associated with this firm - past, present and future. The biggest mistake that my husband and I have ever made was to engage Oblivion Lab. We were sold by previous portfolios, the lure of aesthetics and "vibes", and the promise of professionalism. Unfortunately, what you see is not what you get. The ID that you thought you signed with turns out not to be the ID that oversees the project. The ID whose name is splattered on all the reviews ends up barely knowing what is going on with your reno, and can saunter in the house months later to be "impressed by how it all turned out". It's hard to condense into a single review just how bad the whole process was. But these are the main red flags: (A) Communication breakdowns: - Imagine having a group chat with 3 people from the same team who don't talk to each other first and give differing opinions at the same time (cross-talking over each other + giving inaccurate info). - Even with so many people in the chat, sometimes they can take more than 3 days to even open/acknowledge/reply a message. (B) Plain lack of accountability and responsibility + prone to gaslighting you - Even though they had access to the house before renovation works started, they made errors in judgement with regard to what could be done/ dimensions. - They have probably never said 'sorry' for anything. Even when their vendors physically destroy our things, their erroneous measurements result in changes to our design, and when they fail to deliver what we paid or even topped-up for. Most of the time they didn't even notice the mess-ups until we point it out. - It is never their fault. It is always yours for expecting too "perfect" a renovation. (C) Quality is poor for what you pay for - Regardless of who you are, it is probably widely accepted that paying 100K for reno (for a 5-room HDB flat) is substantial. Especially when there are very minimal built-ins. - Even so, we would be willing to pay that much if the quality of the fittings were well done. But there were so many parts of the house that we had to ask to rectify. And even now we live in anxiety that things will fall apart, simply because we don't trust their work and workmanship. It was really a nightmare of a renovation. Save yourself the trouble. Don't count on your luck to be one of the 'good' ones that gets featured. It's simply not worth the risk.

Getting a house is a huge commitment. But building a home is even a bigger commitment. As a first time owner, we were ever lost - which ID firm, which ID, which theme etc etc and the list goes on.. we met more than my fingers can count, we were close to giving up finding 'The One' to help us conceptualize our dream home - we wanted more than 1 theme in the house - we are a little crazy like this. Until we chanced upon Royston's Industrial Concept for the Joo Chiat Road, it was love at first sight. We thought to give it one last try. All we can say is - We are so glad we did! We clicked almost immediately, and our ideal themes within a house was as though both Royston and Cher could read our minds and understood we were building a personality home instead of building a typical house. And to them, having more than a theme home was more of a looking forward project than a challenge or a chore like how other ID portrays to us. It was such a delight conceptualizing the home with Royston and Cher. We would say, we arent the easiest house to conceptualise. They made things effortless, and even give us better ideas / finding things out of norm research. We were really impressed and we were so sold by some of their ideas despite being their first time trying it out in our house. That's a whole new level of trust. We love how easy it was to connect with both of them. And they were very prompt in resolving any issues, and they made entrusting them on our house so carefree. We love the craftman work of Chua and Jacky as well, really friendly, professional in products, very knowledgeable and helpful too. Both R&C are very creative and passionate in interior designing yet they are also very open and respectful when it comes to our selections / suggestions as well. We really love exchanging ideas with them. It was an amazing and fun renovation journey. The best part about working with Royston and Cher on building our dream home is that it didnt just stop right after the handover of keys. They assisted us in our furnitures / house decoration selections as well. They really went all out for us as home owners as though it was their own. We really like that additional part where not all ID does that. This duo is really the one to go if you are building a dream home instead of a house. They care for yours like their own and they are so fun to work with. We were so glad to have engaged them, and everyone has been talking about how beautifully our place is - the crazy idea that came true and everything fits so magically despite having 4 different themes in 1 house. With all these said, we would like to have a BIG shoutout to Royston and Cher, thank you for your amazing help to conceptualize and actualizing our dream home. We couldn't have this without you. Appreciate all your efforts and time in building our house. Highly recommend Oblivion Lab to add their magic touch to your dream house.

Unlike many who usually engage the IDs recommended by their friends or family who are tested and proven, my wife (mainly her) and I did our own research and were introduced to this tattoo ang moh beng Royston Ivan Ho that we were initially skeptical about, however he quickly proved himself and put our doubts to rest. Not only was Royston Ivan Ho creative, he was also sort of a visionary that brought to the drawing board fresh ideas and suggestions that none of the previous IDs we consulted shared. He takes pride in the designs he did for his clients and will not just recycle what he used in other projects and lift and shift over to ours. Every design to him was indeed truly hand-crafted. He has this endless bout of eagerness that is raring to go and by the end of the first meeting with him, we are already sold that this is the ID that we will want to work with! Throughout the entire journey, Royston Ivan Ho was professionally consultative and caring enough to be a true friend. There was no need to be haggling for prices as there is the element of trust that we know he wants the best for our home. The relationship developed into more of a partnership where we work towards a common goal. Don't be fooled by his tender age and boyish looks, Royston Ivan Ho displayed a sense of maturity and professionalism when is comes to the execution and delivery of the end product. Although there were some hiccups along the way (who doesn't) and some minor delays, we had faith that all is in good stead and will only make the dream home truly worth it. We are really glad that we had the privilege to be working with a young budding local talent and as first time home owners, couldn't have ask for a better ID to be working with. Thank you Royston Ivan Ho!

My wife and I were excited to transform our resale flat to our dream house after getting our keys; after setting up numerous appointments with countless ID firms, we were at the point of giving up on how our dream house should look like after being told numerous restrictions. Oblivion lab was the last firm that we walk into with no appointments prior. We met Royston ; the young designer who was able to visualize what we were trying to achieve and had workarounds to the limitations that we thought was not possible. Overall Project management was good, very responsive to our concerns during the renovation. There were minor hiccups and defects along the way which were quickly fixed. Highly recommended if you are looking for a breath of fresh air and something creative!
