I recently had the pleasure of working with Nurul Huda from Eight Design on the renovation of my 2rm BTO and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. From the very beginning, Nurul demonstrated a clear understanding of my vision and elevated it with her own creative insights. She was professional, easy going and understood my requirements fully. What stood out most was her ability to blend functionality with aesthetics which made the design not only looked great but also served a purpose. Communication was seamless, and she would helped to rectify any defects in a promptly manner. After the renovation was completed, I was very pleased with the end result as it looked exactly the same as the 3D drawing. My space now feels more cohesive, welcoming, and stylish all thanks to her. I highly recommend Nurul to anyone looking for a skilled, reliable, and truly responsible interior designer!

I was initially apprehensive about Eight Design as I found them online. Due to the time constrains and I am constantly in and out of the country during the period of the renovation, I needed a reliable and trustworthy ID to carry out the renovation with minimal fuss. Fortunately Candice and Victor came along and it was a real pleasure working with them throughout the entire project. They were extremely helpful in providing opinions on what is practical, suggestions on what works and how to be cost effective. They followed through the entire project by providing timely updates and communicated clearly when revision orders are required, all despite me being outside the country for work. The cost control was also excellent as I only have 1 alteration, which is what I wanted to fully utilized my kitchen space. Despite the time constrains, Candice and Victor pushed through and completed the project on time and the quality of the renovation work was also very well done. In fact they found minor issues which needs fixing more thoroughly than I did and meticulously rectified them before the final handling over. I must say I am a satisfied customer and will not hesitate to use them again in my next renovation project. Well done Candice and Victor and thank you for being so helpful throughout the whole project.

We wanted to re-do our entire 4 room flat and were looking around for a designer who can fulfill our ideas. We were sourcing for designers and came across Eight Designs. We went to our first meet up with Clement and Monday in January 2025 to see what they have offer in terms of our concept. it was a fruitful meeting as they made us comfortable and listened to all 3 of us of what we wanted. The excellent thing about both Clement and Monday is that they were able to feel on what concept we wanted and planned it the way we wanted. When we settled for the Scandinavian Design they made a 3-D model for us to visualize on how it will be and true enough the house that was handed back to us was completely what they had promised. Not only that they were there to help us make the correct choices in selecting tiles, kitchen equiments, toilet accessories and more. Hats off to both of them.

Initially was worried when looking for IDs to renovate my home. However Eight designs representatives Victor and Monday, who were assigned to my project, both put those worries to rest. They were extremely responsive and managed their contractors extremely well. The quality of their in house carpentry is also of better quality compared to what you find across the market. Absolutely comforting home designs to suit your needs and wants. They also set aside time over weekends to ensure that everything is addressed down to minor details. What was important is that they managed to over deliver on their promises which is a huge plus point. Overall would highly recommend.

Our ID rep Sky Tang was very helpful and suggested many good ideas throughout the renovation. We wanted a simple and low cost (about $22k) renovation and he managed to do it for us. Process was rather smooth and the works were completed within a month. I would recommend them to my friends and relatives for future works.

I don’t usually write reviews, but my experience with Eight Design compels me to warn others. If you’re considering hiring them for your renovation, please read this first. We recently endured an Eight Design renovation in our block, and it was nothing short of a nightmare. From morning till evening, the deafening hacking noise was relentless. This wasn’t just typical renovation noise—it was unbearable. The impact on residents was severe: adults experienced stress-induced nausea and pounding headaches, young children were crying inconsolably, and even pet animals had bloody diarrhoea from the anxiety. The noise was so overwhelming that even with windows and doors shut, it was impossible to work from home, rest, or go about daily life. Desperate for some relief, I reached out to the project manager, HP Lim (Lim Hooi Peng). She assured me she’d look into it and call me back with an update. That call never came. No follow-up, no courtesy text—just silence. After waiting in vain, I called her again. This time, she bluntly dismissed our concerns, insisting they had the “right” to proceed because of their permit. In other words, because the paperwork was in order, the suffering of other residents was not their problem. I was stunned. We weren’t asking them to stop the renovation—just to expedite the worst of the hacking. Instead, her response was: We’re allowed to do this, deal with it. What really struck me was her dismissive attitude. She even stated she “did not have to pick up (my) call”, as if responding to concerns about her own project was a personal favour, rather than a professional responsibility. Any basic customer service or community courtesy went out the window. I hung up that 2nd call feeling powerless and disrespected. To put this in perspective, most other ID firms wouldn’t handle things this way. We’ve had other units in our condo undergo renovations before, and responsible contractors coordinate with management, keep residents informed, and try to limit the most disruptive work to reasonable hours. Eight Design, however, was rigid, unprofessional, and dismissive. Frankly, this experience shows poor project management on Eight Design’s part. A project manager should manage not just the project’s timeline and contractors, but also its impact—especially in an older estate where many retirees, young children, and WFH residents are home during the day. Instead, what we got was a project manager who didn’t follow up as promised and then brushed us off because the paperwork was in order. Just because you can do something (thanks to a permit) doesn’t mean you should do it without consideration for others. The lack of empathy and basic courtesy was astounding. If this is how Eight Design handles a simple noise complaint, imagine how they might handle any issues that you, as a homeowner, might have during your renovation. Would they listen and adapt, or just cite “policy” and carry on regardless of your concerns? Bottom line: our encounter with Eight Design was a nightmare, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone—client or neighbour alike. If you are considering hiring Eight Design for your renovation, think twice. Renovation should be an exciting milestone, but their disregard for the community turned it into a source of stress and regret. No matter how good the portfolio pictures look or how attractive the quote is, ask yourself: Do I want a firm that treats neighbours this way? Because if they don’t respect the people living next door, what makes you think they’ll respect your needs as a homeowner? You deserve an ID firm that not only delivers on design but also respects people. Eight Design failed spectacularly on that front. I sincerely hope this review helps someone avoid the distress we went through. I cannot in good conscience recommend Eight Design to anyone.

We can’t thank our interior designer, Peggy, enough for her incredible professionalism and dedication. She managed the entire project timeline flawlessly and handled every change—big or small, even those unexpected last-minute adjustments—with such calm and efficiency. Her quick responses and proactive coordination with all the contractors took a huge load off our shoulders. We left the entire design and material selection completely in her hands, and the result was nothing short of our dream home come to life. The design she created was exactly what we envisioned—if not better. The contractors she worked with also delivered excellent workmanship, which really brought everything together beautifully. Truly a 5-star ID who made the entire renovation journey smooth and stress-free! A big thank you as well to the boss, Eric, for expediting our tight renovation timeline and giving our project the priority it needed!
