1. Broom Artisan Bakery

Broom Artisans Bakery, located in Petaling Jaya, is a great place to hang out, eat, and take aesthetically pleasing photos while surrounded by an industrial interior. This bakery's design is inspired by the tropical brutalist movement, with raw, simple structures reclaimed by nature.

The cafe preserved as much of the original structure and architectural interests as possible, highlighting the exposed brick wall and the odd pipeline that runs through it, as well as the exposed beam overhead.

The design focused on raw and natural materials such as cement and concrete - as seen from the floors, counter, and benches. Their tiled wall was hand-casted and hand-mounted piece by piece. To 'soften' the overall look of the space, potted plants and rattan furniture were added for that homely vibe.

Aside from providing the ideal backdrop for photos, the cafe's specialty is their wide selection of freshly baked breads, which are baked daily!

2. Mary Jane KL

If you are a fan of all things pink, you will enjoy your visit to the Mary Jane KL. Nestled in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Mary Jane KL is a dual concept restaurant and bar with an eye-catching interior that includes plush pink furniture, flower walls, and blush pink blooms cascading from the ceiling, making every corner of this restaurant (including their glamorous powder room) a great spot for a photo opportunity.

Their romantic, soft pink aesthetics are almost as lovely as their sweet treats and cocktail drinks, and you might want to dress up a little to make the most of your visit!

On the ground floor sits a stunning tropical rainforest-themed bar where a beautiful mural hand-painted by Penang-based artist Thomas Powell takes center stage. This results in an imaginative setting that is ideal for drinks and a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Apart from their visually appealing interior, they also serve irresistible local and western cuisine that will surely tantalise your tastebuds!

3. Poppy Kat Cafe

Located in Cheras, Poppy Kat Cafe is an incredibly cheerful looking cafe that, aside from their specialties, coffee and croffle (waffle+croissant), would certainly make a great backdrop for a photo session.

To create an interesting visual interplay, this picturesque cafe incorporates vibrant colours such as orange into a medley of tactile details such as grout lines, glossy surfaces, and fabric. This vibrant colour, according to the cafe owner, creates an arresting and energetic atmosphere that draws people into their eatery! Aside from orange, a red floor and a pigmented concrete bench help to tie the space together.

Aside from that, you'll be able to interact with the cafe's rescued kittens - Mochi, Mimi, and MeowMeow - making every visit worthwhile, especially if you’re a fan of felines!

4. Three Years Old

Three Years Old, despite its name, is a relatively new cafe that opened in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in April 2021. It is founded by three cheerful girls who wanted to create a coffee and dessert space that exudes a positive and laid-back vibe.

While the cafe is relatively new, the double-story building that houses Three Years Old dates back to the 1920s and is located along a row of old terrace houses in Bukit Bintang. The 80-year-old building has been given new life with clean minimalist interiors and plenty of white and natural sunlight that floods the cafe's interior and exterior. It makes an excellent backdrop for an upscale outfit photo for your social media feed or a tranquil space to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Aside from its aesthetically pleasing interior, the cafe also serves a variety of cakes and pastries to satisfy your sweet tooth, as well as comfort foods that are all made in-house, with love!

5. Planter Chin
