I was looking for an interior designer for my own home, and I’m someone with a very strong visual and photographic eye. I’m extremely sensitive to angles, proportions, and overall balance—when something is visually off, it genuinely feels uncomfortable to me. Because this is the place I live in every day, I knew I couldn’t take chances with an inexperienced designer. The opportunity cost would simply be too high. I shortlisted around five interior design firms through Atap, specifically focusing on those with proven experience in minimalist design. I took the time to meet them one by one, visited their studios, reviewed their portfolios, and paid attention not only to their design work, but also to their personalities. Compatibility matters—if we couldn’t communicate or align, it was a no-go. In the end, Dot Works stood out, and working with Jake felt right. His aesthetic met my expectations, and more importantly, he was able to understand what I wanted even when I described it in abstract terms. He could translate verbal concepts into visual form, and the design proposals reflected what I had in mind. The process did involve back-and-forth adjustments, but that’s part of doing things properly—and he was responsive throughout. The final result turned out exactly as I hoped. I’m now living very comfortably in the space and am genuinely satisfied with the outcome. As someone with a photographic eye, I usually notice visual “noise” or discomfort very easily—but in this home, I don’t (except for the occasional mess from living with a baby). That says a lot. Credit where credit is due. Thank you to Jake and Dot Works for delivering a home that feels right, balanced, and thoughtfully designed.

They are really good at what they do plain and simple. Highly professional and yet casual when the time calls for it. They do not force their opinions on you and instead collaborate with you to understand what works and what doesn't. They went the extra mile for me to get my place ready on time. I HIGHLY recommend them. My place now feels like a real home and everyone is impressed with the design.

We selected Dotworks after shortlisting 3 firms that gave their initial design ideas according to our budget and requirements. Jake was able to capture our requirements and translate it into a tasteful, contemporary yet functional design that gave distinct characteristics to each section of our home. Jake is meticulous, from ensuring exacting space utilisation, color coordination, lighting tones to careful material selection to bring the design to life. Some patience is needed for his artistic interpretations as that often can result in rework & adjustments. Our Reno was over the Covid lock down period, which added long delays between sections of the house being worked on. Jake communicated clearly and promptly and we had weekly checkpoints with his team to discuss progress, issues and solutions. Overall, we were delighted with the outcome of our home. Majority of the renovation was executed to a high standard of quality albeit with some minor imperfections here and there which his team tried to touch up/fix. Post moving in, Jake provided post Reno support whenever I had issues with any parts of the house. It’s been 3yrs and he provided prompt help when I had an issue recently. I am not sure if other firms would do the same but I am appreciative of this.

In my dealing with Jake and his team l find them to be professional and competent. I find that their ID work is creative and is able to meet my requirements . Jake is very passionate about his work and is very responsive to my suggestions and changes requested by me. I would not hesitate to recommend Jake and Dot Works to anyone who’s looking for good Interior designer for renovations work.

Dot Works and the team amazing to work with and they transformed my place into a cozy&warm place. Pricing was incredibly reasonable, particularly compared to another team that i engaged earlier. Ia m satisfied with the outcome. I will definitely recommend Dot Works to my best friend who’s planning to do a renovation for her condo.

We are happy with the outcome, although there were some miscommunication in between but we able to resolve it. Overall i think Dot Works is very responsible and worth every single penny that i spent.
