To anchor the space, The Grid Studio added a narrow mint green console table with drawer storage which adds a cheerful colour to the otherwise black and white space. As decorative touches, a ceramic vase and framed artwork are placed on the console table. Meanwhile, a small table lamp offers a soft glow at night when an overhead light fixture would be considered too bright.

Black-and-white floor tiles help to separate the space from other parts of the house and add a nostalgic mid-century modern charm, while a tall plant adds a touch of warmth to the space.

4. A bold entryway that nails the dark, luxe look

If you like dark moody colours, take notes from this contemporary condominium designed by MKR Studio. To add a dramatic yet sophisticated touch to this spacious entryway, the designer drenched it in black walls and installed matte black built-in cabinetry. Meanwhile, gold accents on cabinet door handles and the warm wood floor contrast with the black cabinetry and walls.

Upon entry, your eyes are automatically drawn to the round, oversized mirror and black upholstered bench that 'hangs' from black steel bars that reach all the way to the ceiling. Finally, black track lighting completes the overall look of this bold-looking space.

5. An entrance that doubles as a cafe-bar

Cafe lovers, this one's for you! To make the most of the space, Perfect Match Interior Design added a long floating counter and some stools, transforming the space into a cafe-style bar and giving the impression that you are entering a cafe, especially with the installation of a sliding glass door that connects the bar to the kitchen.

Aside from that, a slim built-in cabinet next to the bar area allows the owner to hide clutter and keep the space neat and organised.

6. A plant-filled entryway

This modern entryway by Dezeno is a green thumb haven! Drawing attention to the entryway is a wooden door with a metal frame and matching black louvre windows. We like how the cement screed and matte black steel elements give the space a rugged sense of the outdoors despite being indoors. A couple of potted plants are displayed on a stool, and more greenery can be found on the floor. There's also a metal wall storage unit where the owner can arrange their hanging plants however they see fit.

Last but not least, a water fountain/feature provides a peaceful welcome to guests.
