Get magic sponges, drain cleaners, and more – all for the price of $2 each!
Singaporeans love Daiso, and that’s a fact. With a myriad of products priced at just $2 each, it’s no surprise that most people choose Daiso to pick up home essentials – and that includes home cleaning products.
If you’re new to the world of Daiso cleaning products, look no further than these ones:
1. Mould remover
Given Singapore’s perpetually humid weather, mould and mildew are pretty common (and gross) sights. That’s nothing the mould remover spray from Daiso can’t fix, though. This potent cleaner can cover everything from your floor tiles to your walls in a few quick spritzes – just let it sit for a couple of minutes before wiping it off with a dry, clean cloth.
Tip: keep the spray nozzle once it’s finished, as you can use it for their replacement bottles that don’t have a nozzle of their own.
2. Jar cleaner
Here’s one for the home cooks. If you’ve been vigorously scrubbing your pots and pans to get the stains out, it’s time to put those worn-down sponges away. This jar cleaner powder will save you tons of time (and muscle aches) – all you need to do is to dissolve it in hot water within the pot you want to clean. It is, as they say, easy as 1, 2, and 3.
3. Wipes for home use
To say that Daiso has wet wipes is an understatement, because they have a lot. There are wipes for your surfaces, microwave, refrigerator….the list goes on.
On top of that, there’s also a dedicated section for mop sheets, with selections ranging from wet to dry and waxy types. Doesn’t matter whether your floors are layered with vinyl or ceramic tiles – you can almost certainly get what you need here.
4. Pet urine cleaning sheets
There’s even a multitude of pet wipes available. This particular wet wipe is useful in removing any stains on your floor should your precious furbaby, ahem, accidentally let loose in your home. Do read the information on the back of the packet, though, as some of these wipes are solely meant for cleaning purposes, and shouldn’t be used on your pet’s body.
5. Drain pipe cleaner
The next time you’ve got a clogged drain on your hands, skip the baking soda and get these nifty drain pipe cleaners instead. Coming in powder and tablet form, simply drop your cleaner of choice down your drain, let it work its magic, and voila! Clog-free drains.
Bonus: it even gets rid of any odours – so no worries of any foul smells lingering after your clean-ups.
6. Angled cleaning brushes
Whether it’s the area around your taps or the narrow gaps between your fans, these angled brush can get in there without much struggle on your end. They’re embedded with rough textures like glass beads or melamine resin, so rest assured that their ability to scrape off hard-to-reach grime stains is top-notch.
7. Mops and mop heads
Looking for a simple mop? This one will do just the trick. Note that the mop handle and head come separately, but fortunately, it’s easy enough to assemble. And because the head is detachable, simply buy a new mop head in the event your existing one needs replacing. Talk about efficiency!
8. Melamine sponges
Daiso enthusiasts swear by these melamine sponges, and for good reason. They do a much better job at cleaning than your regular ones, as the melamine material provides an abrasive texture that swabs dirt and grease in an instant. And all you need to make them work is to soak them in water. Yes, that’s really all.
Additionally, they come in numerous shapes and sizes – take your pick between little cube-sized pieces, long chunks that you can cut off, or even some adorable sea lion-shaped sponges!
9. Multifunctional cleaning powder
This multifunctional ecology powder is one useful item to have at home. For one, it can be used for almost any purpose, whether it’s to remove stains and scorch marks from your pots, or for cleaning your toilet bowl. For another, it can also be used as a handy backup in case you ever find yourself short of the product you need – like detergent, for example.
10. Citric acid for cleaning
Yes, the citric acid from oranges and lemons can also be used for cleaning! This particular cleanser comes in the form of a powder – just drop a spoonful of it into your kettles, bathtubs, or toilet bowls, and it’ll remove all the icky stains and water scale in minutes.
In the event that you run out of fabric softener on laundry day, this powder can also save the day. Simply dissolve a spoonful of it in some warm water and add it to your washing machine just as you would do with a regular fabric softener.
