8 Kitchen Appliances to Level Up Your Party Hosting Game

Because if it ain’t extra, is it really a party?

One of the perks of having a place to call your own is that you get to have people over whenever you want. And sure, there are lazy days where store-bought pizza or ordering in tze char will do just fine.

But if you’re out to throw a real house party, the following kitchen appliances – seemingly extra but really worth it in the long run – will definitely take things to the next level.

1. Bruno Compact Hotplate | From $199

Food just doesn’t taste as good when it gets cold – which is often a problem when cooking multiple dishes for a house party one at a time. Now that’s where the Bruno Hotplate comes in.

From grilling a steak à la minute at the dining table to keeping your casserole warm throughout the entire meal, the possibilities are endless. So, if you’re one to host often, this 2-in-1 cooking and warming appliance is definitely worth the investment.

Plus, it even comes with a takoyaki plate (interchangeable with the flat plate) should you be feeling a little Japanese. Why would you need a takoyaki plate? Well, why wouldn’t you?

2. KITH By Casa Indoor Smokeless Grill | $168

The thought of odours and grease covering our furniture is usually what gets in the way of us enjoying a barbecue in the comfort of our own homes. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Using patented infrared technology, the KITH By Casa Indoor Smokeless Grill lets you enjoy a nice barbecue without worrying about any of the above.

Noteworthy features:

  • Rotates for even cooking (bonus: doubles as a lazy susan)
  • Precise timer and temperature controls
  • Base tray for grease management
  • Detachable cooking tray for easy cleaning
  • Accessories for double layer grilling, desserts and more

3. Lamart Fondue Set | $31.90

If you’re a fan of international buffets, chances are, the fondue fountain is something you look forward to often. Realistically though, a fondue foundation requires copious amounts of chocolate (or cheese) just to get it flowing, and it can be a real nightmare to clean.

So, while this list talks about all things extra, we’re also advocating the smarter choice of a fondue pot set instead if you’re looking to enjoy the same experience at home.

Said to be able to turn almost anything into ice cream, sorbet, milkshakes and more, it’s not just the adults who’ll love the Ninja CREAMi Ice Cream Maker; the kids will love it too!

And according to reviews left on Shopee, one thing users really love about it is that you get to control the amount of sugar/ingredients used, which lets you enjoy sweet treats in peace.

5. Toyomi Up and Down Steamboat | From $118

Chinese New Year or otherwise, we all love a good steamboat. Having to fish for ingredients that go ‘missing’ in the soup midway? Not so much.

Make that a thing of the past with this innovative steamboat that has a metal tray which descends into the pot for cooking, and comes back up again with the push of a button.

On regular days, you can also use it as a steamer and rice cooker with a “Low-Carb Rice’ mode said to drain excess carbohydrates and impurities. Available in 2 sizes (2.5L and 4.0L).

6. Sushi Maker | $6.84

The idea of making your own sushi sounds really fun until you get clumps of rice that in no way resembles a roll. Trust us, that’s not how you’ll want to make a first impression.

But why get frustrated over something so small? Leave it to this fuss-free sushi roller, and free up your time to prepare the other dishes instead.

7. Electric Popcorn Machine | $60.48

Whether as a pre-dinner snack or having a bowl to munch on while hosting a Netflix watch party, popcorn is something we can’t say no to. And we all know that it just hits different when freshly popped.

8. SodaStream Genesis Sparkling Water Maker | $119

Does sparkling water actually taste better than regular water? Well, that’s one question we’ll probably never get 100% consensus on.

But here’s what we are certain about regarding SodaStream’s sparkling water makers: in addition to turning regular water into sparkling water, you also get to make your own concoction of sodas, controlling exactly how fizzy and sweet you want them.

There are several models available, but if you’re only planning on using it when hosting fancy dinner parties, we’d recommend the Genesis (pictured above) as it’s the most value-for-money model available. Do note, however, that carbonation is done via a manual pump instead of an automatic preset. But based on this YouTube tutorial, it doesn’t seem tedious at all!
