Quick Read: 5 Reno Decisions Homeowners Say They DON’T Regret

Reading time: 1 minute

A renovation is meant to last you for years, and you won’t want to make decisions you’ll end up regretting. On the flipside, it helps to know what other homeowners who have gone before you would do all over again in a heartbeat.

So, we asked our Instagram fam for some of their renovation non-regrets, and here’s what they had to say:

1. Anything with curves

This isn’t just one person’s opinion though. According to IDs we spoke to, homeowners are increasingly opting for curves all around their home because they soften the aesthetic, in turn creating a more relaxing vibe.

Plus, eliminating sharp edges means it’s safer should you have little ones running around!

2. Building full-height wardrobes

No surprise there, given that full-height cabinets maximise vertical space for storage – something you can never get enough of. The bigger question is: how would you design yours?

3. Installing power tracks

Modern looks aside, power tracks are an uber practical feature to have.

Because sockets can slide along the track as needed, you won’t have to deal with a mess of overlapping wires or extension cords, particularly if you have a long TV console/kitchen counter.

4. Anti-fingerprint laminates

Fingerprints on cabinets are like smudges on a window: they may not be obvious from a distance, and some people are perfectly fine with them. But if you’re someone who gets an unsettling feeling in your stomach once you see them, it’s best to opt for anti-fingerprint laminates.

5. Retiling your entire bathroom

Many BTO owners have chosen to retile their bathrooms in order to achieve an aesthetic that blends with the rest of their interior, and/or with materials of their choice.

BUT: BTO bathrooms come with floor/wall finishes in order to protect the waterproofing membrane. Replacing these before the 3-year mark will void your warranty – so do so at your own risk!
