Reno Spotlight: Inside a Duplex Condo with Bali Beach Villa Vibes

In this week’s spotlight, we tour a duplex condo at West Coast that has the laid-back charm of a tropical beach villa, combined with the luxurious first-world comforts of an upscale hotel.

Despite its generous square footage (1798 sqft, to be exact), stepping into this condo feels like you’re entering into a cosy cocoon – one swathed in beige limewash and wood tones that evoke a sense of warmth.

And we’re not just talking about the walls; the limewash continues all the way to the ceiling, resulting in an ‘enveloping’ effect of sorts (and not in a claustrophobic way, of course).

Meanwhile, full-height sheer curtains add to the dreamy atmosphere resonant here.

Moving to the dining area then takes your mind to a Bali beach villa. From the raw-edged solid wood dining table to the built-in concrete bench that flows seamlessly into the wall, every detail echoes relaxed island living. Additionally, a recessed wall niche for flower vases and other decor adds to the resort-like charm, inviting you to slow down and savour the moment over a meal/cuppa.

Next to it, the dry kitchen has a peninsula that doubles as a coffee counter. Here, wood-look laminates and a rustic pendant lamp lend a similar resort feel.

What we particularly love about this area, though, is its double-height ceiling that makes it spacious and airy. This is then accentuated by the vertical columns/structural pillars that draw the eyes upwards – a design cue that instills a sense of calming openness amidst the hustle and bustle of city life.

Further in, the wet kitchen can be sectioned off with a glass door to keep the fumes in when heavy cooking is in progress. Chic and practical? Check and check.

While the master bedroom has a more contemporary look, it maintains continuity in design language through wood-toned shaker-style cabinets, similar to those we saw in the wet kitchen earlier.

You’ll also notice a bay window settee here, which is not only the perfect spot to cosy up with a good book, but also mirrors the aesthetic of the TV console in the living room!

Lastly, the bathroom is reminiscent of a 5-star hotel’s, with a wall-hung toilet, hanging rod mirror and bathtub to soak your stressors away.

Bonus: Given that this condo is located in the West Coast area, there could even be a seaview (or, at the very least, an unobstructed view) while you’re doing so!
