This All-in-One Oven Cuts Down Cooking Time by Up to 70%

Sous vide, grilling, air frying, and more – this multifunctional oven can do it all!

Whether it’s for your dinner after work or for a party, cooking can get time-consuming. That’s especially the case if you’re preparing dishes requiring multiple steps – think of all the dishes and appliances you’d need, as well as the time it’d take to do so.

Well, what if we told you that it is possible to whip up a tasty dish in way less time than you’d normally take, and without any fuss? Allow us to introduce you to SMEG’s Galileo Omnichef, an all-in-one multifunctional oven that isn’t just useful for baking – it can also steam, microwave, air fry, and grill your food (among other things).

And get this – these functions can all be used concurrently and/or pre-set (from the get go) to be run sequentially via the unique Multitech and Multistep methods, giving you the ultimate hands-free cooking experience that takes the hassle out of cooking, in more ways than one.

To show you just how capable the Galileo Omnichef is, here are 2 tried-and-tested recipes that can be done in a way shorter amount of time:

Roast Chicken under 30 minutes (instead of an hour) with the Multitech cooking function

One of the most classic dishes you can have for everyday dinners and gatherings alike: a succulent roast chicken. Roasting a chicken usually takes you around an hour or more – but with the Galileo Omnichef, this will take you less than 30 minutes.

We know – this almost seems like sorcery. But it’s made possible due to the Omnichef’s Multitech cooking function, which simultaneously uses microwave, steaming, and traditional cooking technologies to cook your food quickly.

This gives you the benefits of each cooking technology in a single appliance, at the same time:

  • Traditional cooking: helps achieve gorgeous, even browning of meats and pastries
  • Steam cooking: keeps food moist throughout the cooking process
  • Microwave cooking: speeds up cooking time by up to 70% if using Multitech cooking

And together, that’s how you’ll achieve a gorgeous roast chicken under 30 minutes, as you’ll see in the recipe below:

Ingredients:

  • 1.2kg raw chicken, whole
  • Vegetables of your choice (e.g. onion, potatoes, garlic, etc.)
  • Seasonings of your choice

(Note: no preheating is required.)

Steps:

  1. Season your vegetables and chicken
  2. Select the Multitech cooking function, which you can get to by pressing the Cooking tab > Multitech
  3. Set up the oven as follows:
    -- Desired temperature: 240ºC
    -- Steam level: 40%
    -- Power level: 300 watts
    -- Cooking duration: 27 minutes
  4. Take the chicken out and let it rest for 8-10 minutes before serving.

And voila! One perfectly-roasted chicken, moist on the inside but crisp on the outside – done in half the time you’d take if done traditionally.

Baked pasta in 30 mins (instead of an hour) with the Multistep cooking function

Normally, a baked pasta dish would require you to pre-cook the pasta before assembling the dish for baking. But with the Galileo Omnichef, this step is unnecessary, as you can mix the uncooked pasta directly into the baking dish and have it cooked in the oven.

That’s all thanks to the Multistep function, which lets you choose different cooking functions and have them operate sequentially. This handy function does away with the need to manually change the function after each step, or transfer your food into another cooking appliance – which means that:

  • You can enjoy a completely hands-free cooking experience, without needing to manually check your dish every so often
  • You only have one baking dish to wash after cooking

SMEG’s Galileo Omnichef: a worthy investment that saves you time, space, and money

As demonstrated in these recipes, the Galileo Omnichef is more than capable of helping homeowners save time on their meals. Plus, the cooking methods mentioned above aren’t the only ones this oven can do – it can also carry out air frying, stone cooking, barbequing, and even sous vide, to name a few.

While there is, of course, a premium to such an appliance, it’s definitely worth it in the long run. As everything (and we mean, everything) can be done in a single appliance, this does away with the need to buy multiple cooking appliances (especially ones that you don’t use often), thus saving you precious countertop space.

And just like the Galileo Omnichef, the other combination ovens in the Galileo range make for great choices as well. While the Omnichef is ideal for those who use various cooking methods, the other Galileo models possess features that make them more suited for specific purposes.

For instance, the Steam100 Oven (a combi-steam oven) makes fat-free cooking so much easier with the help of its built-in algorithms, while the SpeedwaveXL is a combi-microwave oven that cooks food quickly – and more importantly, evenly.
