Project Details
“How do we maximise the daylight into this old apartment?” was the key design question we asked ourselves at the start of the project.
We designed simple volumetric forms to conceal all the required storage from sight, allowing daylight to wash the various textured surfaces in a big space.
As different light source washes the apartment, subtle texture from wall finishes such as cement screed and subway tiles respond differently.
Even the kitchen counter is simplified to a large cantilevered slab without any conventional table structure!“How do we maximise the daylight into this old apartment?” was the key design question we asked ourselves at the start of the project.
