We highly recommend Eric for renovation. Eric has been responsive and very professional pre, during and post-renovation. He went out of the mile to liaise with contacts beyond his own contractors e.g. door vendor and rectified on-site defects before we noticed them. He has been very patient and tried his best to accommodate us. I made a very last-minute request- to keep my table and changed the height of the headboard when the project was already underway. This caused him additional works. He could have firmly said no and I would understand it. Instead, he tried his best to meet my request.

Our home is close to 30 years of age and lots of work had to be done. We are thankful that Eric was on-site almost everyday to keep track of the progress. Eric also has a keen eye for detail. He kept some left-over quartz form our countertops and made them into mini shelves in our shower unit. Eric is also patient enough to come up with different designs until we are satisfied, and was flexible in many details.

After-service has been exceptional across all contractors. We requested to adjust the height of the internal compartments. The carpenter was willing to make multiple site visits and provided us with extra shelves. Eric even personally sourced a contact who provided us with a solution to our wet wall problem when he is not at fault at all.

Workmanship exceeded expectations. With his rich experience, he is sure of what can or cannot be done and provided us with practical solutions that meet our budget.

What can be improved on is that he can go through moodboards featuring different themes and laminates before the first rendering to reduce time spent in getting the theme/mood right and put everyone on the same page. His first rendering used alot of white with no laminate pattern which led to us thinking that just using 1 laminate may be insufficient. It was only much later that we realised actually one/two laminates was sufficient if that laminate is striking and nice enough on its own esp for the feature wall. Our requests for specific themes and colours for two rooms were also looked over, although we pointed that out and he revised it accordingly.

He also gave us the impression that he is conservative. We shared some unconventional (?) ideas most were deemed by Eric that they would go out of trend soon and were from a few years ago when they were the latest trending projects on Qanvast. It also took a lot of persuasion for me to convince him that I don’t accept purple lighting as a solution as an alternative to adding pops of purple to the carpentry although in the end, he still managed to do so.

In future, he can also suggest to clients unconventional ideas e.g. ceiling beams/curved cove light/coloured ceilings, hidden doors, special painting effects, subway/vintage tiles etc. and warn clients about the cost.
