We were served by the “Dynamic Duo”, Shun Li and Desmond. During our first appointment, we were impressed by their friendly interactions. They showed enthusiasm and had great ideas after we proposed our theme. We were presented with a same day quotation. We decided to engage them because of the chemistry we had. During the process of renovation, we were kept updated daily of the progress. They were transparent with every detail and understood our concerns. As they are very experienced and well-coordinated, the whole reno process was smooth sailing. We are extremely happy with the transformation of the house, where we are proud to call it our DREAM HOME. Thank you, Shun Li and Desmond (Hokkien-Master), for your awesome efforts, wonderful services and marvellous workmanship. We would definitely recommend Jesigns as your future renovation ID! 👏👏👏👍👍👍

Geylang area Retro condo with Spaceship-designed boy's room

Reviewed by Bryan・Submitted 22 Mar 2023・ Project completed Jan 2023・Designer Shun Li / Valerie

Hi we are the proud owner of the “spacious” boy’s room in Geylang, but that’s not all Jesigns did for us. They also help to camouflage the master’s entrance so the TV wall is much longer, they did our daughter a nice modern-Victorian bedroom, a bunker bed for our maid so the space below can still be storage for our easy access, and most importantly, the lighting and smart switch system that, when you put together with the futuristic design of the boy’s room, really authenticate that 3023 vibe. We are in abit of trouble before we first engage Jesigns, our previous designer was having trouble figuring out the designs for the boy’s room, sceptical about the implementation part, and also cannot commit to the completion date of before CNY. I came across a news article on Jesign’s past project in Bishan HDB flat where they did a star-war themed living room and corridor. So I immediately contacted them for discussion. The discussion went quite smooth and Shun Li / Valerie the designer team was quick to pick up ideas and being able to suggest other options for our selection. We wanted to go ending scene in Thor “Love and Thunder” whereby Thor lives together with the villain’s daughter, that spaceship cum home feels quite cozy. Shun Li has since been working tirelessly on the design, even going frame by frame to extract cool elements that would be ignored by most. That’s how we arrive at the design for the entrance door. Valerie the co-designer has proposed quite a number of designs and solutions for the bunker bed entrance lighting. Out of which we chose the Asgardian sign with a 3D lightbox. It turned out great! A lot of people think assurance is about putting trust in your designer. I feel that is only half true. Jesigns has been able to provide alternatives on alternatives so we are never running out of choices. For example, we are not sure what to do with the little playarea where you have lighted steps with lighting on the sides as well, more importantly, the ladder to climb up also sits on the first step so we have to be careful the functionality as well as the Aesthetics of the playarea Arch. After many rounds of brainstorming we finally arrive at this one with the assurance that we have considered all other options. So assurance is not only about trusting your designer, but also trust in the process. After some time tweaking and confirming the quotation, we have officially kick started the implementation in end November. Due to complexity of the project, the carpenter and the electrician has been on-site couple of times together to discuss wiring and other features as these two go hand-in-hand. I also appreciate the fact that Jesigns has been diligent in confirming the details, making notes on the meeting and asking for our confirmation on the spot. On one hand it means that the owner confirms the design, on the other, the designer also confirms that their understanding is in line with owner. Having spent countless meeting to discuss the details, the carpenter was quick to implement the structure for the boy’s with precision, they were also tied up by the CNY and if they miss it, they would be back to work only after 2 weeks. They ended up finishing about 2 days before the CNY eve. The electrical part is tricky to say the least. Not only are most applications RGB, meaning you need 4 control signals instead of just 1 on normal lights. Also, smart applications means you need the right device for controlling all the lights. Shout out to Jack from DIYovation the lighting shop, their service is top-notch whereby he provided useful information with trial-and-error to make the whole system work. They are also constantly advising the electrician where some of them might have blind spots on the new technology. A lot of people are wondering you must need robots to implement a lighting project as complex as this one. You are not wrong. Inadvertently, there were a few mistakes and equipment mal-functions, but Jesigns was very quick to step in and handle it for us. The lighting was close to 90% done before the CNY barring some minor fixes. The project does not end after hand-over. When we compiled a short list of some defects during the CNY, they have already lined up the appointments to fix them. It is indeed quite assuring that they are committed to 100% finish the project to the satisfaction of owner. All in all, it was a great experience working with Jesigns. Shout out to Shun Li and Ms. Valerie Toh for doing such excellent job. Their handwork and dedication have put this project above and beyond with everybody else’s. If you are someone who looks to renovate your home in a modern / futuristic way, they should definitely be on the top of your list.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Jesigns for doing an excellent job as they have exceeded our expectations to make our dream house a reality. Our ID Shun Li and his team has been professional, helpful, accommodating and very passionate about their work. During our first discussion, Shun Li was patient in explaining the details and, willing to listen to our needs and desires. And not being over committed and pushy. He understood what we were trying to achieve and was able to incorporate our requirements into the design whilst keeping our budget on track. We were impressed by his talent where we thought we were quite firm on our initial ideas, but when he presented us with his ideas on the design, we were convinced! After the key was collected, the reno project quickly took shape and finished within 6 weeks even faster than the promised timeframe! Throughout the entire process, we never have to ask or chase for updates from Shun Li on the endless revision on the quotation, 3D drawings, almost-daily reno progress updates, and etc etc. He makes sure everything gets done, and done well. From concept to execution, the process was smooth and delightful. As a demanding perfectionist, we are pleased with the results. Although the deadline is short, the price is highly affordable, workmanship is not compromised. It’s worth mentioning that I’d never see any impatience when we throw him with tons of questions throughout the renovation, he always response promptly, and accommodate our needs and request like a wishing well! Really appreciate his patience and strong support. We’d heard too many horror stories about renovations, we are lucky that we didn’t have to experience these shits by entrusting our house renovation to Jesigns. We would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a responsible, reliable and professional ID. A great experience which we would do again in a heartbeat!
