Review on Dreamcatcher Interior

Reviewed by Carine・Submitted 5 Dec 2018・ Project completed Dec 2018・Designer Shia

We engaged Dreamcatcher Interior Design on 31 December 2017 for the renovation of our new place. We paid $3,900 as deposit for a contract sum of $39,000, excluding carpentry works. We provided 2D drawings and inspirations for our house, and asked for 3D diagrams for our proposed design. In March 2018, Dreamcatcher wanted an additional $500 per drawing (limited to 3 amendments), and wanted us to pay an additional $4500 before they were willing to commence work. Our interior designer, Shia Lin, promised us that he will provide us the 3D in April 2018. This was delayed until June 2018, and work was not done. We asked for a refund of $3,900 as there was no work done. However, Dreamcatcher was unwilling to provide us the refund. Kaze Tan, the management of Dreamcatcher, did not reply our email for more than 4 months despite our reminders on whatsapp and emails. We went to small claims with their Director, Kwan Weng Hong, in November 2018. Kwan maintained that they will not refund us and challenged us to go to court. As first time homeowners, we had hoped that our IDs will hand hold us through the renovation process, and are taken aback with the attitude and the unprofessional attitude of Dreamcatcher Interior Design. We wish to inform fellow homeowners of our situation and before deciding whether to engage Dreamcatcher Interior Design / Shia Lin / Kaze Tan / Kwan Weng Hong for their renovation.
