Patient and friendly, Kin was easy to work with and accommodating of our requests. During our initial meeting, despite us not signing a contract with Kome yet, Kin took the time to explain to us in detail regarding masonry and carpentry works. The actual renovation process went relatively smoothly. There were some hiccups along the way, but Kin was responsive and responsible in ensuring the rectification works were carried out properly. The whole renovation was completely timely and within our requested budget. We have been living in our home for 2.5 months and are pleased with the quality. Would definitely recommend Kin from Kome Interior.

We were referred by our friend to Kin. I was wowed by the workmanship that kome has offered. Altho Kin started our Kome on his own in 2017, he was very hardworking and honest. Very experienced and very accommodating during the whole process. He also gave very practical feedback to our ideas and explained the feasibility of the ideas for long term stay. He also followed up very closely and provided solutions even after our Reno has completed! Thanks Kin!

Kin; a friendly, trustworthy, patient, organized and efficient ID

We picked Kin to renovate our home in Kim Keat after going through the paces with at least 7 other ID firms all over the island. This was when he was still with his previous ID firm (Icon Interior) before he decided to strike out on his own. What made us pick him was his easy-going nature and know-how as to what can and cannot be done for our resale Kim Keat Link flat. He comes across as forthcoming and genuine, someone very likeable. Most importantly, when the grind gets real, he was able to deliver. The theme for our matrimonial home was raw industrial. While we already had a clear picture of what we wanted, Kin was also on hand to advise us accordingly as to how we should go about making our home unique and not cookie cutter ideas we got from most home renovation websites. At the same time, he did not impose his own ideas on us like a “take-it-or-don’t-work with-me” kind of attitude which we faced from other IDs. We wanted a design and feel that we want to truly call our own and Kin was fine with that. While we do know that as an ID, Kin would love to put his mark on his work. While 90% of the house was our vision, we left the bedrooms to Kin while only asking for a platform bed for the master bedroom. He delivered with a unique open concept, steel wardrobe for our master room which looks perfect and in sync with the rest of the house. To make things a lot more challenging for him, although we did not wish to do so, Kin had to juggle liaising with different vendors for our home. As we mentioned to him before, he is doing the groundwork and platform for the other fittings from the other vendors. While most IDs would balk at this arrangement as this would mean they will be earning less than what they would receive if they handled the entire project, Kin jumped at the chance. He worked very closely with Peng Handcrafted for our living room fittings and Topsteel for our one-of-a-kind stainless steel kitchen. From designing the different carpentry for another vendor to making sure everything fits during installation, Kin did a sterling job. We also got our air-conditioning units from Gain City which means more liaising. While other IDs would want everything to be done under one roof, Kin was fine with this arrangement even though it would mean more of a headache for him. In terms of keeping to the budget, knowing that fittings from other vendors were to be considered, we had to make sure that setting the groundwork should not be a purse-bursting endeavour so that there will be enough money left for furniture and appliances. Kin was able to keep within our budget while we had IDs quoting almost twice as much for very similar ideas. Workmanship and quality was never compromised as coming from a reputable firm, this was almost assured. In terms of putting it all together, working with two different vendors was one thing. Making sure they stick to the prescribed schedule was a tall order in itself. While it looked daunting, he came out golden. Everything was smooth-sailing and there were minimal hiccups throughout the renovation journey. When something was not done to our standards, Kin made sure that it was taken care of at the soonest possible juncture. Daily updates were also given to us via our WhatsApp group as to what was being done and what was coming next. We were very appreciative of this as we did not have the time to supervise the site every single day. At the end of the day, we received our fully-renovated home on time, with no delays. In fact, we made it a week ahead of schedule which was wonderful. All this was 4 years ago. Even today, we are still in contact with Kin. When we were faced with problems such as water leaking from upstairs neighbours’ renovation, breaking the toilet sink and such, Kin was available and ready to provide contacts to settle the issue for us as well as advise us accordingly. I overloaded our wardrobe drawer once. causing it to come off its rails within the first few months of us moving in. Kin was able to get someone down to repair it at no cost! Our toilet sink plug broke and we sought Kin’s help. He gave us the number of his plumber and it was fixed the next day! If this is not good aftermarket service then I do not know what is. He has progressed from being our ID to a friend. It has been a wonderful renovation journey with Kin. We recommended his services to friends and family and feedback is very much the same. Our home is still in great shape 4 years on and we are grateful and thankful to have worked with Kin. He turned our visions and snippets of our imaginations into reality. Thank you, Kin!
