Steve Peh Zhi Liang of The Concept Pte Ltd is an irresponsible and untrustworthy person. He claimed and agreed to complete and handover in 5 weeks (on 10 Feb 23) for my new BTO. The flooring for my unit was already ready, hence 5 weeks was supposedly sufficient to complete all works. Extension was given numerous times (18 Feb 23, 23 Feb 23) and up till now it is still incomplete. Gave many excuses and stories on the delays and did not deliver as promised. Collecting payment was the only prompt action done, to the extent that when the bank's online banking was having a maintenance, he asked me to go to the ATM to withdraw cash for his payment, can't wait for the banking system to resume operation. After collecting payment, the works are not done and nothing was arranged. He continuously gives excuses to delay and does not adhere to the deadline that he himself has given to complete the works. Let me give you examples on the excuses he gives and how irresponsible he is. His carpenter had removed the kitchen counter cabinet, cabinet & wardrobe doors & drawers which had already been installed from my unit, and it is obvious that Steve Peh Zhi Liang did not make payment to the carpenter, hence the removal. He had told the carpenter that it was me who have not paid him due to my reno loan not being approved yet, thus he couldn't pay the carpenter, when the truth was that I had already made 95% of the renovation sum to him. Upon questioning Steve Peh Zhi Liang why the cabinet, doors and drawers were removed, he told me he had asked the carpenter to take back for amendments, then later said they removed wrongly and will ask them to send back to my unit on the same day. Then he said the lorry is out for the day so they could only return the next day, which they did not. After which he says he will not use back this carpenter and will find new carpenter to continue the incomplete works. However up till now, the new carpenter has never made an appearance or came down to my unit. Told me that I should liaise and pay the electrician directly initially but he himself liaised with the electrician and collected payment from me, and claimed that it was the electrician who chased him and needed the balance payment to purchase plugs. When I wanted to hold some amount as the works are not completed, he showed me an attitude and insisted on the full balance payment, which i insisted on holding a small amount (less than 9%). I do not know who is my electrician and I have seen different electricians doing the electrical works which are also left incomplete. I asked the electrician at site if he had chased for payment as mentioned by Steve Peh Zhi Liang, and the electrician told me that he did not do so as he have not completed the work. He will ask for payment only after the work is completed and he told me that he was called last min to the site. Steve Peh Zhi Liang had also told him that the previous electrician was engaged by me and wasn't able to ask them to come back to continue the unfinished works. He is also being dishonest to the electricians and carpenter he engaged to do the works, and using me as his excuses for not paying them. Steve Peh Zhi Liang came to the site the day after the cabinets were removed with his father to remove ALL the protection cardboard on the floor and said that he is throwing away the debris. When I ask why he removed the protection when the reno works are not complete, which may cause damage to my flooring, he told me he still left a roll of canvas to lay. I even ask him if he is wrapping up and leaving the works incomplete and he said he will not. But since then, he has not gone down to the site and there was no work progress up till now. When ask to meet him, he said he is in JB waiting for the lorry to get permit approval, till now there is no news. And he could even blame it on Malaysia custom, saying that it is always slow. He did not complete the works even after all the extended dates. I had asked for refund and he refused, and saying I could report as I want when I told him that i had made a police report for his breach of agreement. NOT RECOMMENDED, Deal at your own risk.

I came across this ID firm online, got his quotation and thought things will be fine as he is the one who matched our budget. But sadly to say the delays of work and all sort of empty promises from the ID firm. I would not recommend this firm as the ID itself is not responsible for his work and delay after delay despite making the payment to him. I wouldnt say work is all nicely done. But the workmanship and material use also not very good. Renovation has been done up for almost 1year plus thing is starting to far apart. Lesson learn. Never engage someone who is so irresponsible.

We decided to engage the concept (zhiliang), because we find that he know what we want and gave us alot of ideas and is within our budget. Throughout the renovation process, zhiliang is professional, patient, friendly and going thru with us all the renovation process like choosing the floor tiles to even all the small furniture for the house to match our house design. Everything goes very smoothly throughout the whole renovation as zhiliang will be always checking on the house while renovation was going on and update us almost everyday. We also appreciate the fact that when some defects were found, either by him or by us he will do his best to resolve them and as prompt as he can, even after he already hand over the house to us. Zhiliang is a responsible ID, and my family and friends is happy and impressed with the final renovation. I will be happy to recommend zhiliang from the concept and and wish to thank him for his effort and patience. Already recommend my friends and relatives to look for him.

The Concept provided the most reasonable quote amongst the ID firms that we shortlisted. Jaysie was the appointed Interior Consultant/Designer for our home. Jaysie was responsive and professional throughout the renovation journey. She offered all aspects of interior design, interior decoration and well project management, ensuring all timelines are met punctually. I did not have any concept for my house to begin with. Jaysie was patient in listening to our inputs and comments and came back to us with a few designs within a couple of days. I like her passionate towards design (She’s really good in drawing), and she is quick in responding to all my queries. She was also there with us while choosing materials, tiles, paint etc. Most importantly, Jaysie coordinated the work between her workers well and ensured everything went smoothly. We would definitely recommend Jaysie and her team. Thank you for your vision, professionalism and complete this journey together with us enthusiastically!

He given us a lot of ideas and incorporate with what we want to ensure the whole design came out astonishing and are within our budget. Before starting of renovation he brief us on the whole schedule of works ensuring every details are touch on. Throughout the whole reno they isn't any much thing to worry off as everything was taken care of by zhiliang. Reno are going very smoothly and was finished on the targeted time. Even though the workmanship of the reno are near to perfection but there was some minor defected found after which and zhiliang was able to settle and rectify all defect within the time given. Rating the company a 5 stars and for new couple getting their 1st house I recommend zhiliang as he was a really awesome designer with patience and plenty of splendid solution.
