We engaged Gentlemen Crafts Pte Ltd for renovation works for our kitchen, bathrooms, living room, and my daughter’s room. This has been an extremely poor, costly, and unsafe experience. Before contract signing, they quoted a very low price and rushed us to sign despite many restrictive clauses. Once signed, we were subjected to variation order after variation order, even for basic items, inflating the total cost by more than 50%. They made no effort to understand our requirements. Renovation started based on their contractor availability rather than proper planning. Workmanship across all trades was substandard: Carpentry: Inferior materials and poor workmanship Electrical: Over-quoted, unnecessary wiring, no consultation on switch placement Tiling & plumbing: Worst execution and finishing They also showed complete disregard for our belongings. No existing furniture or appliances were properly protected, and there was extremely rough handling, resulting in damage to our sofa, refrigerator, monitor, and other items. Despite spending ~SGD 85,000, the renovation was left unfinished due to their mistakes in the altar design. They promised 3D drawings, but these were misleading and did not reflect the final outcome. The carpentry drawings were significantly different from what was built, making it impossible for us as homeowners to properly visualise or approve the design. The ID assigned, Joshua, was extremely difficult to work with. When we escalated to the CEO, Glen, the company focused on protecting itself rather than resolving the issues, ultimately abandoning the project incomplete. Most alarming was the serious safety lapse — gas was not properly switched off or secured, and gas pipes were left improperly plugged, putting our family’s lives at risk for nearly a month. Although recommended by Qanvast, our experience shows this company has no real interior design capability and operates mainly as a broker for low-quality contractors. Avoid Gentlemen Crafts Pte Ltd. Do not be misled by low initial quotes or positive reviews. If anyone needs details, I can share documentation and evidence via DM.

From the start, we knew we wanted a clean, timeless look. Something that feels light,and calming but still functional for everyday life especialy with our baby. One thing I really love is the built-in storage. Everything is super seamless — the bomb shelter door is now flushed and camouflaged with wood panelling. There are some delays with carpentry, and minor touch-ups are needed. However, Jayce was responsive and got things sorted out pretty quickly. Overall, super happy with how everything turned out. The house feels like us now. 10/10 would do it all over again.

I had a wonderful experience working with Jayce. From the first consultation to the final handover, everything was handled professionally and smoothly. The designers really listened to my ideas and needs, and they transformed them into a beautiful and functional space. From the very beginning, Matthew took the time to truly understand my partner and my visions, needs, and style preferences. I consider myself fortunate that Qanvast included Gentlemen Crafts as an interior design company option, and I'm very pleased with my decision to work with them. As this was my first time undertaking a project like this independently, I was extremely impressed with Josh's ability to provide solutions to challenges and overcome roadblocks. The project did face delays – for example, obtaining the hacking permit took longer than anticipated. This had a direct impact on my move-in date. I had to move into my new flat when it was only 60% complete, and I was unable to secure a further extension in my previous accommodation. This is the only area where I feel communication could have been improved. More consistent updates would have been appreciated, but as a project manager myself, I understand that things can go wrong. It's something they can work on in the future. However, the positives far outweigh this. I was fortunate to be assigned to Josh, with whom I immediately clicked in terms of the aesthetics and creative elements I wanted for my first flat. Josh understood my creative mood board and visualised it effectively. His management of the vendors and contractors was also excellent. For me, the most important thing is that my designer helped to solve problems, and Josh did this consistently. I don't know if I'm considered an easy or difficult client, but Josh was always there to provide solutions and offer suggestions for improvements. I'm very grateful for his partnership, and our shared creative vision encouraged me to push the boundaries even further. The whole process was seamless and far less stressful than I had imagined. Gentlemen Crafts, and Josh in particular, demonstrated transparency, especially regarding procurement, which I greatly admired. I'm already considering using Josh again if I decide to move and want to explore a different creative concept. Nothing is ever 100% perfect, and we must learn to accept imperfections. Thanks again to Josh for everything – I appreciate your patience and honesty.

We worked with Joshua from Gentlemen Crafts to design parts of our resale 4-room flat and are pleased with the results. Joshua understood our needs and provided practical solutions to maximise our space within the budget given to him. Communication was efficient, with regular updates and fairly quick responses to our questions. Throughout the project, Joshua was prompt in making necessary arrangements with the various contractors to ensure the timeline is met as we prepared for the arrival of our baby. Joshua frequented the worksite to ensure materials and fixtures arrive in good condition and helped oversee the project even when we could not be present on site. He made it a point to ensure we understand the procedures, terminologies, and clarified any doubt we may have had, even calling or explaining in person when texting would not suffice. We engaged Yu Hao from Gentleman Craft to design our home in an industrial theme, and the entire experience has exceeded our expectations. From the start, Yu Hao demonstrated an exceptional eye for detail and a deep understanding of the style we were aiming for. What stood out most was how attentively he listened to our ideas. Never overlooking even the smallest preference and how thoughtfully he translated them into practical, well considered recommendations. He consistently offered fresh perspectives that enhanced the overall design without compromising our vision. Throughout the process, Yu Hao remained fully engaged, taking the initiative to guide us through decisions and participating in every step with genuine passion. His input went far beyond structural and design elements. He also provided valuable suggestions on furniture, decor, and finishing touches that tied the entire look together seamlessly. It has truly been a pleasure working with both Yu Hao and the Gentleman Craft team. Their professionalism, creativity, and commitment to quality shine through in every aspect of the project.

Background: Wanted a Modern Lux theme for my crib. Searched the internet to source for an ID. Of all the ID's met, GC stands out. From the first meeting with Russel (more on Russel below), we started creating a repo together. Shared with him the initial budget and designs im looking for and we bounced ideas around. In addition, he also provided some feedback on my design (i.e. some design may require a lot of maintenance, etc), and proposed solutions based on honest opinions. Hence, I decided to engage GC. Communication: There is constant communication with Russel throughout the reno journey and the coordination/ communication with other contractors (A/C contractor, etc.) are pretty smooth. Very responsive! 3D drawing vs Actual: Their 3D drawings are top notch!! I was a bit skeptical about the 3D drawing at first, but TBH, it is very close to the final product. Budget/timeline: As with all renos, there will be some kind of obstacles/ challenges which will have direct impact on the budget and timeline. And considering its modern LUXURY themed reno, it did not come cheap (based on my personal preference of materials). Having said that, the workmanship is good so far, (at the time of writing, its 5 months from completion) as they provided good quality materials and services. As for the timeline, it was delayed by a few weeks, which is also due to the Dec and CNY holidays (started my reno in Nov). But Russel expedited some works to make sure that my house is "livable" for us by early Feb while pending some minor touch up which I am very grateful for. Russel: Russel is a very chill guy. He is very passionate about designing and is very creative. He is young (still honing his skills), but he is experienced enough and knows his way around the industry. He will even help you to source for fittings and furniture that will fit with the theme. As mentioned above, we connected after the first session which I did not encounter with other IDs (in total I went to 7 different IDs). His after reno service is also great, he is still responsive, and we are still in communication. Overall: I am happy with how the reno works out in the end and am glad that i decided to go with GC. For those who are on the fence, I would recommend giving GC a shot!!

Highly recommended interior design company! Jayce was very creative, professional, and easy to work with. he provided great suggestions while still respecting my personal style and budget. The entire renovation process was well-managed and completed on schedule. What impressed me the most was their attention to detail and commitment to quality. Me and my hubby would like to thank Josh for being able to understand our renovation ideas. After meeting 4 other IDs we still feel Josh passed the vibe check and that we would be in good hands. He took great charge of our reno process and also keep communicating with us throughout, from material selection and shopping all the way to the end of our project. He also took the extra mile to personally source for many furniture and loose items so that we can save money on carpentry/reno. This is something other ID we talked to did not suggest as carpentry would earn them more money than suggesting external furniture like Josh did. Overall, We can tell he is a very passionate, responsible, friendly and transparent ID with an eye for even little details and would 110% recommend to anyone that has been engaged by Josh to reno your home. Very thankful that we did not encounter any reno horror stories with other contractors or ID!

We actually told all the IDs we met that we do not really have a budget, Josh is one of the two ID that did not over quote and was very fair with his pricing. His 3D rendering was impressive and even took the extra mile to suggest furnishing etc to complete the designs. Decided to award the project to Josh as he was very enthusiastic, friendly, honest and easy to communicate with. While we were busy which caused some delay to the reno, he patiently waited for us and scheduled our shopping and selection dates etc. I usually do not write reviews or feedback, so shall keep it short but I think Josh really did a good job.
