We had a fantastic experience with Ben on our reno. For context, ours was an old house and needed a full makeover. 1. Responsibility and accountability Ben created a timeline and he stuck to it. He uploaded it on a website and sent us updates every Monday on the works for the week. Once the reno started, he arranged physical weekly meetings at the house to update us on progress, let us inspect the work, and discuss any changes he or us might have to the plans. There were a few hiccups along the way that were outside his control, and he was prompt in keeping us updated. Impressively, he adjusted the timeline each time so that the hiccups caused either no or minimal delays. 2. Openness to ideas and adaptability Along the way, we occasionally changed our minds and proposed new ideas. Ben never got impatient, and always did his best to cater to our wants, or to inform us why our ideas wouldn’t work. Many times we were not sure what was best and Ben would give us honest, helpful advice, laying out pros and cons of various options for us. 3. Honesty and pricing Of the 11 IDs whom we interviewed, Ben’s quote was one of the most reasonable, and he stuck to it. We told him that, so long as quality was not compromised, we wanted the lowest costs possible, and he constantly acted with our interests in mind. For example, he told us that if we were to buy our own aircon it would be cheaper than what he could get for us, and he recommended shops where we could get decent quality lights and fixtures at low prices. At one point, due to a change in our electrical plans, we needed a new electrician. Ben voluntarily helped us arrange for 3 different electricians to meet him and provide quotes so that we could choose our preferred one. He also stuck to the terms of the contract even when it resulted in outcomes that were unfavourable to him, never trying to be dishonest. 4. Post-reno service After the reno, we encountered some issues, the biggest one being a water leak that Ben could not have anticipated. It says volumes of Ben’s helpfulness thus far that our first action was to ask Ben to help us. The issue was complex and required communication with multiple parties, and Ben helped us resolve it smoothly. Ben is young and hungry, and it shows in his professionalism, responsibility, patience, willingness to learn, and willingness to listen.

We met a few people when embarking on our full house renovation project. I had very specific asks and ideas, but most were not willing to listen to our plans, except Ben. I was very impressed at how open he was to every detail. He was so responsible, and he really took every detail into account. His passion and knowledge for interior design is crazy, even with the smallest details. He was always willing to listen, super patient, even when we have a million questions, and goes above and beyond to assure and help us. He has a solution to every problem, every kind of hiccup, and is very quick to come up with solutions. He also always made sure that he got the best price for us. That was so important, that he was thoughtful to our needs, and is also very cost efficient. We genuinely had such a pleasant renovation experience with Benson (sth you don’t hear often from homeowners) and he deserves so much credit for turning my vision of a dream home into reality. Shoutout to Lauren too for being involved in the process and for assisting in creating our dream house.

Benson was one of the people we spoke to before deciding which project manager to commit to, and we were completely sold by his knowledge, sincerity, reliability and ability to make us feel comfortable. He has such a wonderful and admirable attitude and passion towards his work, which made our renovation experience very pleasant and largely smooth sailing. He was very clear and specific with his advice and recommendations, yet was always open to hear our thoughts and ideas, no matter how ridiculous it sounded. He never said 'I don't know'; it was always 'let me find out and get back to you'. It's these little things that matter the most, especially when large sums of money are involved. Even when things didn't go according to plan, which is always expected in a large scale renovation project, I was hugely impressed by his reliability, cool head in crunch-time moments and solution-oriented thinking. I highly recommend working with Benson. Never underestimate a person with a good heart and dedication in his craft. We couldn't be happier with our decision to work with him. I engaged Lauren and Ben to work on my mothers flat, since i knew them from my previous renovations in my own home. My mother's flat is 25 years old and she is planning to have her place rented out but some works needed to be done beforehand. Old flats tend to have issues popping out along the way but they have been rather patient and know who to source and what to do. Both were engaging and well coordinated right from the start, in terms of their communications and the delivery of the entire product. I believe their prices are quite reasonable as well. The contractors they engaged were also very accommodating towards our timeline and availability. For reference, these were the items i engaged them for: 1) Install New System 3 aircons 2) replace 1 part of kitchen cabinet 3) re-tiled some of the kitchen table top tiles that came off 4) replaced 2 toilets doors 5) replaced 1 wc and 2 sink taps 6) re-painted parts of the wall and re-touched up parts after air con installation at a very reasonable fee

I engaged Lauren and Ben since i knew them from my previous renovations in the current house. I needed to do some home improvements to make space and upgrade it. Lauren and Ben had been very engaging and well coordinated right from the start, in terms of their communications and the delivery of the entire product. I believe their prices are quite reasonable as well. The contractors they engaged were also very accommodating towards our timeline and availability. For reference, these were the items i engaged them for: 1) change 1 part of window grille in living room 2) change kitchen window and grille 3) install cabinet in my master room 4) overlay floor tiles in balcony area 5) replace 4 new bedrooms doors and 1 main door

Ben was great! He was meticulous and took the time out to go through the plans for the renovation of my new place. He was sharp to suggesting and criticized what he felt would not go well with the place which we felt was very constructive. Highly recommend! 💯 Thank you for all the advise and recommendations for the new place, even though I didn't go through with him, he was extremely helpful up to date, checking in on the progress of the new place.

Rhys and Ash being a relatively new firm, we did our due diligence and spoke with Benson’s past clients before deciding to engage him. While we faced some hiccups in our renovation journey, Benson was always willing to find an agreeable solution and make things right by us. We were definitely not the easiest clients but Benson was always patient and willing to go the extra mile throughout the entire renovation process. We have since moved in and are happy with our place!

I recently had some work done in our condo and decided to move forward with the renovation using Ben and Lauren from Rhys and Ash, who came highly recommended by a friend. We appreciated their transparent approach to payments, invoicing and they quickly grasped our project requirements for our space. The entire process from concept to final product was seamless while their responsiveness to our queries and their ability to deliver on their promises left us deeply impressed. While there was a complication with the original carpenters, who could have been more organized and had better time management, Ben was able to source a second carpenter who helped to realize our dreams. Overall we had a great experience working with Ben and Lauren at Rhys and Ash and would recommend you reach out to them to see what they can do for you as well.

Engaged Ben & team to do our 5 room HDB apartment He was able to understand our ideas really quickly (which we had a hard time conveying to other IDs) and provided constructive feedback, further elevating our designs. They aren’t super cheap, rather affordable and very transparent in their handling of financial matters which was one of the main reasons my partner and I settled with Rhys & Ash. He was really patient handling us and our (sometimes) dumb homeowner questions. Thank you Rhys & Ash for making our renovation dream come true
