We recently worked with Vincent from Darwin Interior for our house renovation, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! What we had envisioned has truly come to life, and the end product exceeded our expectations. As this was our first time renovating a place from scratch, Vincent was incredibly patient and transparent throughout the entire process. He took the time to guide us, explain every step clearly, and offer valuable tips and advice that made a huge difference. We’re super happy with how everything turned out and would highly recommend Vincent to anyone — especially those new to the renovation journey. His professionalism, honesty, and attention to detail made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.

We signed with ANSANA Interior Design, already paid 90% expecting 90% of the delivery but as you can see in the photos, its barely livable. Having taken 90% of our monies, we were left in our house in such a state with $100k of work unfinished and NOT communication and NOT returning our monies. We are now taking legal action against ANSANA. We even agreed and planned our move-in around the agreed schedule. As the date approached, the house still wasn’t ready. We were also asked to release more money to pay subcontractors so work can be completed, which made us anxious because so much felt unfinished. We tried to be patient. We chased updates, but many times we ended up contacting and coordinating subcontractors ourselves. The timeline moved, then moved again. Costs we thought were “all-in” later appeared as variation orders—like installation for doors/frames—and even our lump-sum demolition didn’t include removing the old tile skirting, which became another VO. Each surprise meant more time, more stress, and more temporary living costs. This experience has been exhausting and disheartening. We have sleepless nights dealing with ANSANA and now we do not even have a place to stay in because this very bad experience. We’re sharing it so others can plan better than we did: clarify exactly what “all-in” means (in writing), confirm what’s included in demolition (including skirting), and agree on how progress and payments will be managed.

I must preface this to say that we didn’t sign with El Arte but we really wanted to leave a review for the excellent ID we met and worked with - Rebecca. We met Rebecca over the course of about 5 wks, and had numerous meetings with her. From the get go, she was considerate of the fact that we were still overseas, and tried her best to fit our time. She also came fully prepared, with ideas, suggestions, and even drew up 2-3 options for us - something that very few other IDs did (in the end we met close to 15). Rebecca was heard our needs/lifestyle, and Came up with ideas/suggestions that showed she truly thought from our perspective. She also came up with very cool ideas that worked with our less than ideal home layout. Being architecture trained, Rebecca also gave good, realistic advice, and was never pushy which we really valued. Her advice on things like whether a certain number of drawers were feasible made complete sense when she explained them patiently to us - that was very helpful since we were planning for our new home for the first time and had some ideas that really probably wouldn’t have worked. She also went the extra mile to check with her contractors/suppliers when we saw things we’d have wanted but they didn’t supply (like a type of swivel shower partition). She also actively negotiated for a better price for us, within reasonable limits. Perhaps what we enjoyed most about working with Rebecca was her clear explanations and her good vibes - it was never just “yes can do” or “no cannot do” - but she took time to help us understand aspects of design and explore collaboratively what could and couldn’t be done. (Her scribbled drawings are also very easy to understand/act as a good visual aid when she’s explaining). While we went with another company due to their company’s in house carpentry etc(we were mostly doing carpentry for this Reno), we will not hesitate to work with Rebecca in the future should we need any work or Reno to be done!

He is flexible and patient in arranging meet-up with me due to my hectic schedule. Trustable! And most importantly, he can understand what my needs and wants in building my dream house. He offered extra help to source for compatible deco and accessories. Hopefully once the renovation started he can also put in equal effort to the entire renovation project.

Honestly, I have been so blessed to meet Naazym. Meeting 5 IDs in a meet-the-IDs setting and having that 1 whom you really hit it off with, you know ... he is the one for ur new house. Never knew what reno nightmares were and thankful i never had to understand what they were. From an ID to being who checks up and follows up with you within 24h, Naazym had been nothing but efficient, self reliant and on the ball with our reno. He stayed on point with the timeline, flexible with our ideas and lent a helping hand even in areas he was not needed to but he did. That is someone I have respect for, seeing how he has respect for his own craft. I will never get tired of recommending him to my friends and family. Thank you Naazym for making our house a dream home. He has never once rejected an idea straight up and he will always tell you "i can try to make it work"; be it crazy or out of this world ideas his effort always matters and the outcomes ... perfect! Will miss texting you for updates and honestly it felt like a bittersweet end but I am so thankful to have forged this friendship. That is how you know you chose a wonderful ID. <3 Also to all new home owners, pls treat your IDs with respect. Yes you pay them for their job but they are not paid to be subjected at the expense of unrealistic expectations and verbal abuse. If you think you can do it better, then you do it yourself. Don't force them to do smth they warned you against only for you to say the plan failed. Have respect, work hand in hand, give them space to work and trust your IDs!

Due to leaking riser pipe at my flat, i was asked by HDB to remove my carpentry and countertop within 3 months since there was not much access point given to them to change the pipe. This prompted me to bring forward part of renovation plans (kitchen reno) forward by 2 years. Thanks to Huiling from Homematch, she referred me 5 IDs that match my requirements within 3 days. I finally settled with Ivan from ID Gallery (One of the IDs recommended by homematch) His 3D rendering helped me a lot in negotiating with HDB on the exact dimensions i need to provide for accessibility for common pipes. This 3D rendering was provided on good will and it was given BEFORE i decided to select him as my ID for the kitchen reno. His clear communications and advice throughout the renovation has helped me in making the decisions along the way. And the outcome is exactly what I hoped for. The journey to renovating my kitchen is definitely more smooth sailing and of higher quality in terms of workmanship compared to my first renovation 9 years ago. I am looking forward to engage him to reno the rest of my house next year.

We had a great experience working with Wei Kai as our interior designer. From the start, he stood out by asking about our lifestyle and how we envisioned living in our home — out of 11 IDs we met, he was the only one who did, showing genuine care in creating a home that fit us, not just one that looked good. He’s kind, approachable, and professional, always prompt, responsive, and generous with helpful advice. He’s also open-minded, knowledgeable, and accountable, taking time to explain options clearly and resolving any issues quickly. A small suggestion would be to share more regular updates and have a bit more attention to detail, but overall everything was handled wonderfully. We’d gladly recommend Wei Kai to anyone looking for a trustworthy and thoughtful designer.

We met Shun Li through Qanvast Hangout, and the entire renovation journey with him was an incredibly smooth experience from start to finish. From the initial planning of the layout to the selection of colours and materials, and even through to overseeing the renovation works and following up on any issues, everything was handled efficiently and thoughtfully. Shun Li took the time to understand our design preferences and lifestyle, offering practical advice that helped us make decisions without feeling overwhelmed. The entire process, including planning, coordination with contractors, and logistics, was handled so smoothly on his end and provided a truly stress-free experience for us. Gotta give a shout-out to the quality of the workmanship as well, we had some complicated features in our renovation but Jesigns was able to bring them to life. The renovation was also completed ahead of schedule, which was a pleasant surprise, and most importantly, this was achieved without compromising on quality. Moreover, any rectifications were quickly followed-up on. We’re very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend Shun Li to anyone looking for a trustworthy designer that is able to provide a fuss-free and quality renovation journey.
