Addis was the ID for my mum's house, and despite issues cropping up, he was always able to resolve it. There were issues with worker communication, as well as initial quality, and when we voiced out, he was always very quick to ask the respective workers down to resolve it to our satisfaction. Addis was also down at the worksite frequently to check on the work. Overall, the final workmanship was excellent, and my mum was very happy with the final product. Thank you!

Renovating a home involves many decisions and moving parts, from discussing ideas to choose finishes and seeing everything come together on site. We appreciate the work carried out by the Renologist team throughout our renovation and the effort involved in coordinating the various aspects of the project. It was a significant process for us as homeowners, and finally see the completed space. Thank you to everyone involved in helping us through the renovation journey. There was some miscommunication, but it can be improved. Keep it up.

We recently completed a full home renovation for our BTO with Kenneth Kwan, and overall we are extremely satisfied with the entire experience from start to finish. From our very first consultation, it was clear that Kenneth genuinely wanted to understand what we needed, not just what looked good on paper. He took the time to ask thoughtful questions about our lifestyle, daily habits, and how we actually use our space, and used that to shape design ideas that felt tailor-made for us. Many of the suggestions were things we hadn't even thought of ourselves, but once proposed, he made perfect sense for how we live. Site visits, meetings, and updates all happened on schedule, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind, especially since renovation horror stories about delays and poor communication are so common. We always knew what stage we were at and what to expect next, which made the whole process far less stressful than we anticipated. The design itself struck a great balance between aesthetics and practicality. Our favourite part has to be the kitchen as we went with an open concept layout, and the island turned out even better than we imagined. It's become the natural gathering point in our home, whether we're cooking, having quick meals, or just chatting while someone's prepping food. The dry pantry alongside it was such a smart addition too, giving us tons of extra storage while keeping the main kitchen area clean and clutter-free. Beyond the kitchen, storage was maximised throughout the flat (which matters a lot in a BTO!), traffic flow felt natural, and small daily inconveniences we didn't even flag were quietly solved. It's the kind of design that looks great in photos but works even better in everyday life. What really impressed us, though, was how Kenneth handled things when problems came up. At one point our carpentry work didn't turn out as planned, but instead of brushing it off or making excuses, he took ownership of the issue immediately and got it rectified quickly. It's easy for an ID to look good when everything goes smoothly, but seeing how responsibly and promptly he dealt with a mistake gave us even more confidence in him. Not every hiccup can be avoided in a renovation, but having someone who takes responsibility and fixes things fast makes all the difference. Pricing was also fair and transparent. We never felt like we were being upsold unnecessarily, and the quotes given matched what we were eventually billed, with no unpleasant surprises along the way. Given the quality of work and service, we felt we got great value for what we paid.

I engaged Fineline for my home renovation and have paid 60% of the contract value to date. The original work schedule provided by Fineline indicated completion by 6 August. The project remains substantially incomplete. In late July, my assigned ID, James Tan, informed me that he had left the company but would nevertheless complete my project. On 8 August, after receiving no further update, I contacted him and was then informed that he would no longer be completing the project and that he was unable to advise who would take over. I have received no communication from Fineline regarding who will take over my project or how the outstanding works will be completed. I am also unable to establish contact with Fineline through its published email addresses and contact numbers.

One of the worst contractor experiences I have ever had. I paid 95% of the contract price, yet less than 50% of the agreed work was completed. The workmanship was poor, and although the contractor agreed to redo the defective work, they still failed to finish the job. What they left behind was completely unacceptable — exposed raw wood, protruding nails, splinter hazards and electrical wires left hanging. These are not minor cosmetic issues; they are serious safety concerns. And the worst part? I have been living with this situation for more than a month. My home has effectively been left in an unfinished and potentially dangerous condition, despite having already paid almost the entire contract amount. I gave the contractor an opportunity to rectify the problems. They failed to do so. I then sent formal legal correspondence, and they simply stopped communicating. 95% paid. Less than 50% completed. More than a month living with the mess. Safety hazards left behind. Legal letter ignored. Zero accountability. This is an astonishing level of poor workmanship, irresponsibility and lack of professionalism. Once most of the money was collected, there was apparently no urgency to complete the job or address the problems they created. An absolute nightmare from start to finish. Think very carefully before engaging this contractor. I would not recommend them to anyone. Contractor from hell — USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Cindy has been an absolute pleasure to work with throughout our renovation journey! 🥰 She is incredibly meticulous when it comes to details and always made sure we were kept updated on the timeline, progress, and any changes along the way. She was also very good at keeping to the timelines she committed to, which gave us a lot of assurance and peace of mind throughout the renovation. What we really appreciated was how practical and solution-oriented she was. Whenever we had concerns, she addressed them promptly and communicated clearly without ever being pushy. She was always open to our ideas and suggestions, and we genuinely felt that she listened to what we wanted. Cindy is also really friendly, approachable, and a great listener. We had such a wonderful renovation experience with Vincent from Darwin Interior, who was our renovation OIC for my parents’ home. From the very first meeting, Vincent was warm, approachable, and most importantly, a genuinely good listener. He took the time to understand what we wanted, our concerns, our budget, and the little details that mattered to us. Throughout the renovation, he was incredibly responsive, including on weekends and even late at night when we had questions or needed his help. We also have to give him a lot of credit for his patience with us. We changed our minds many times along the way, which resulted in multiple rounds of reworks and redesigns, but Vincent always handled them calmly and tried his best to accommodate us without making us feel difficult. He was also very organised in coordinating the different works, appointments, contractors, and timelines. He constantly kept us on track and managed to complete the renovation within our targeted deadline, which we really appreciated. Another thing we loved was how easy he was to work with when it came to the budget. He respected what we were comfortable spending and even helped us find ways to reduce the overall cost where possible. On top of that, he was very generous with various offers, freebies, LED lights, and little extras along the way. Even towards the end of the renovation, his service did not stop. There were several rounds of touch-ups, and whenever we spotted an issue, Vincent was quick to arrange for it to be rectified. He remained responsive and responsible right until everything was properly settled. Renovation can easily become stressful, especially when there are so many decisions and changes involved, but Vincent made the whole process much easier for our family. He has been reliable, patient, accommodating, organised, and genuinely pleasant to work with from start to finish. A huge thank you to Vincent for taking such good care of my parents’ home and for putting up with all our changes along the way. We are very happy with the experience and would definitely look for him again if we ever do another renovation in the future. Highly recommended!

We engaged Eight Design for our BTO renovation and honestly, we had a really good experience with them. We had a pretty tight budget, so we were quite surprised that Eight Design, who also does bigger projects like Changi Airport, was willing to take on a small project like our BTO. They also gave us a really good price and didn't charge us a designer fee. Of course, we don't expect this from every ID, but it's something we really appreciated. He Xin was our designer and he was really down to earth and easy to talk to. He understood what we wanted and also worked within our budget. He also assured us that Eight Design complies with CASE Trust and has the Gold Standard accreditation, which gave us some peace of mind that we're dealing with a proper company and not some company that will take your money and disappear. Eight Design was actually the first ID we went to, and after meeting He Xin, we just had a good feeling about him, so we didn't even bother looking at other IDs. He Xin was with us throughout the whole process, from checking defects and the BSC handover, all the way through the renovation. He also helped coordinate the installation of our aircon and gas heater, which were handled by third-party contractors. There were some issues with these third-party contractors, like leaving a mess and even damaging the wall. Even though these weren't really He Xin's responsibility, he still stepped in and helped us settle the issues and get them fixed. Honestly, this saved us a lot of headache and having to make a bunch of calls and complaints ourselves. We also had a last-minute change to the ceiling fan placement after it was already installed. He Xin helped us sort it out without complaining and even waived the fee for it, which we really appreciated. Another thing I liked was that he kept us updated throughout the renovation. He would tell us what was done and what was coming next, so we always had an idea of what was going on. I'm someone who likes to know what's happening, so this was really helpful. Overall, the whole renovation was pretty smooth. Of course there were small issues here and there, but nothing major, and whenever something came up, He Xin was there to help us settle it. Getting a new home is already quite stressful with all the renovation, defects and coordination, so we're really glad we had He Xin and Eight Design helping us through it. Really appreciate all the help from He Xin and the team. Thanks for making the whole process a lot less stressful for us.
