At just 76 sqm in size, space-maximisation was certainly a priority when Mu Design Studio put together this resale HDB flat’s MUJI-inspired interior.
Clever carpentry ideas to achieve this include a built-in TV console that doubles as a dining bench, as well as a headboard that extends sideways into a study nook and bedside storage unit.
Need we mention how seamless everything looks as a result?
And to ensure that not even a single square inch goes to waste, the bathroom’s door was replaced with a sliding barn door to save on swing space.

Since Singaporeans can’t seem to get enough of all things Japanese, we just had to feature another Japanese-style home.
What’s particularly interesting about this resale flat designed by Inspire 90s is that one of the junior bedroom’s walls were hacked away to form a library-cum-play-area for the owners’ young ones.
At the same time, a modern take on traditional shoji sliding doors replaced the balcony and en suite doors that came with the flat.
Plus, it even has an onsen-inspired wood-look bathtub! Who says you can’t have it all just because you live in a small home?

While many of the homes in this list employ the same wood tones throughout (and look stunning, no doubt), this 4-room flat designed by The Local INN.terior keeps things visually interesting with furnishings in varying shades of brown and natural materials from wood to rattan to bamboo.
The private spaces, however, feature a more contemporary hotel-like look as compared to the rustic laid-back vibes you get in the living area – with a constant white-and-wood theme tying them all together oh so nicely.
