Plus, get that spa treatment all day, everyday.
From cars to pop culture, Singapore is no stranger to the K-Wave. And now, from the people who brought the Wells water purifier to Singapore comes yet another great Korean invention: Himpel’s multi-functional bathroom ventilation appliances that come with built-in dehumidification capabilities and other smart features.
You may not have noticed them during your holiday there, but most hotels, homes and even jimjilbangs/spas in South Korea actually make use of a Himpel ventilator.
Wait, what? Well, apart from the country’s indoor air quality regulations that necessitate the use of ventilators, Himpel is the industry’s dominant player.
But enough about Korea. Read on to find out how they can benefit you, right here in Singapore.
Keep your bathroom dry and the air fresh
No one likes a slimy bathroom with stale air. Most condo developers have picked up on that, so new developments typically come with extractor fans, while many HDB homeowners wish they had them too. Yet, the reality is that such extractor fans just aren’t strong enough.

That’s where Himpel comes in. Firstly, its appliances have a powerful ventilation setting to ensure circulation and remove odours (like when you’re doing a Number 2).
Next, the dehumidification setting detects and removes excess moisture after a shower, until it’s at an optimum level between 40-60%.

Together, these features prevent mould and algae growth on surfaces, minimising associated health risks as well as time spent cleaning the bathroom.
On an aesthetic front, this is great for those who like the increasingly popular resort/’cave’ bathroom aesthetic with textured walls (crevices are hotbeds for mould growth), and minimises colour degradation of marble/natural stone for those who prefer the hotel look.
A spa-like ambience at home
Ever perspired just minutes after coming out of the shower because of Singapore’s humidity? You’re not alone.

Himpel appliances can help with this. They’re equipped with a hair and body drying setting, providing a convenient boost to getting you dry quicker from head to toe. It essentially also works as a built-in fan, so you can stay cool while going through your skincare routine or putting on your makeup.
On rainy days or cool early mornings, you can even turn on the warm fan heater setting – like what you get in posh hotels/spas – so you don’t shiver while drying yourself off with a towel.

Other bonus features include:
- Bluetooth speakers that let you belt along to your favourite BTS tunes (after all, bathroom acoustics are the best)
- Mood lighting (only available with the HueZentte 3)
Installation of Himpel bathroom ventilators, and how they work
Installing Himpel ventilator and dehumidifier appliances in your bathroom will require a false ceiling to place the appliance, and to hide the exhaust hose that funnels damp air out the window. Depending on the location of the nearest window, and whether you want the hose to be completely hidden, a box-up may also be required.
- Condos: most units already have a false ceiling and window, making installation rather straightforward
- HDB flats: recommended that you install the ventilator during the renovation process

Mylifestyle Studio (Himpel’s official retail partner in Singapore) can connect and work directly with your ID/contractor if needed, so you don’t have to worry about any coordination issues.

If you aren’t renovating but are keen on installing the appliance, Mylifestyle Studio is also able to link you up with contractors to build a false ceiling and box-up.

In the long-run, maintenance is light. Simply remove the grilles every few months to rinse off any dust that may be trapped there, to ensure that suction remains optimal.
Outside, there are also attachments you can use to prevent insects/dirt from coming in via the exhaust hose:

Check it out for yourself
Of course, the best way to determine if you should invest in a Himpel appliance is to test it out for yourself.
