Project Details
We gave ourselves the challenge of creating a huge space that no present-day apartments can achieve, especially with the “shoe box” phenomenon.
The key idea was to combine the kitchen, the dining room and the living room into a singular space. The pragmatic requirement of a kitchen and a baking room brought us to the design question, “Can a wall be a door?” We created a huge sliding door panel that function as a practical door enclosure when the kitchen is in use. Other times, the door slides open to allow the three generations family to stay together in one big room!We gave ourselves the challenge of creating a huge space that no present-day apartments can achieve, especially with the “shoe box” phenomenon.
