TLDR Stay away from this organization for many reasons - you don't like disappointing surprises, you don't like to be caught in the situation where artwork differs from actual, you don't like entrapped in a "quotation in dispute" situation. Review on expertise Hex, the "designer" and his manager got angry when being told they are not professional. They will even hint aggressiveness if you insist on saying that. They should wake up their ideas, respect is never demanded and should be gained. The 3D design artwork was horrid, it felt like an amateur figuring out how to use a 3D app. It's just a one dimensional 3D photo, cropped and nothing much. They couldn't even make adjustments and provide updates. Will only tell you give later but never did. The outcome differs from the artwork too. What you see is not what you getting, they use quotation to trap you to pay more. Despite requesting to discuss carpentry even before the project starts (last week of May), the designer kept pushing the discussion and only rushed to discuss and finalise within 1 week in early July. He did not follow specific measurement requirement requests and only said "trust him" and that he knows what he's doing. The outcome was all messed up measurements. He's also very dubious on the carpentry works and quotation. What I observed was that he just wanted to deliver the carpentry like you buy an off the shelf product. The customisation is lacking. He pulled a fast one by saying "internal laminates" cannot be changed and upon delivery, I could change but need to top up money. I also specifically requested the width of the walkin wardrobes to be either 50/75/100cm but he did all his measurements in ft and messed up all the measurements. To be honest, he did nothing on designing and merely just acting as a facilitator, and a very bad one as he takes a very long time to rectify problems. I was the one providing the ideas and designs. He was clueless about how led skirting works and generally clueless about many designing elements. And he couldn't even do a proper 3D artwork. He did a horrible job on the tile skirting (all different measurements and some parts went over 4cm) and gave bullshit excuses. There was also one part with literally an "erectile" because the skirting was laid halfway for unknown reason. Despite telling the "designer" many times to remove that part, he proceeded to lay around the false wall instead. He did this without thinking and forgetting the fact that the other side of the wall will have a full length mirror, and I also told him I am engaging another contractor to do fluted panel on that living room side. Reluctantly, he removed all the skirting around the false wall, and ended up damaging the whole area. The main door couldn't close properly too as he made the tiles with almost no gap. He pushed the blame to HDB for making the door too low. I was blessed as the HDB contractor was nice enough to try different ways to rectify the problem this "designer" created. The washing machine could not push in smoothly and the sides are all scratched up now merely because the "designer" refused to open a bigger than 600mm gap despite asking for a minimally 650mm gap. Same thing, he said other projects no problem at 600mm. And if really cannot push in then he will rectify it by shaving a few mm from the counter top. I told him that's impossible as everything (the cabinet and counter top are fixed) but he said "don't worry, I am professional and know what to do". In the end, he avoided the questioning totally during rectification period. As I did not want to go through his nonsense, I just accepted my luck on getting such lousy facilitator. The washing machine continues to get stuck and only be able to move about when I forcefully move it. I bet the basin top and cabinet, being tightly fitted side by side, will sooner or later crack upon the washer's movement. The laminates with grains are not visually appealing either. After some grilling, the "designer" admitted he wanted to use the remaining laminates and some money so he used those to make a terrible job. I don't know how he finds his sub contractors as all seems amateurish. The plumber made such a tall pipe for washer's hose. When I told the "designer" it's functionally unsound and to remove ot, he gave me another excuse that it should be like this for water to flow smoothly. When the HBD contractor came, he was laughing away questioning me where I find such talents. I even opted out on the painting service ($1,400 for sealant and 2 coats living room and bedroom walls + $250 malex ceiling) to save some money. But because of the bad advise from the "designer" - he told me to paint after electrical works done and before carpentry starts. After painting, I didn't know what happened but there was additional electrical works and they opened many holes all around the false ceiling and wall, and did a horrible putty patch work. That damaged the wall and paint, causing me to spend an additional $150 to buy paint to repaint all over again. For the bad patch work, it was only after I complained to Canvast and his manager, then they agreed to come back to patch properly. Review on timeline I should have just settled for Weiken (8 weeks) if not because he brushed it off by saying a small project (HDB 2R BTO) like mine can just be done in less than 6 weeks. In reality, at end of 8th week, no carpentry work done. Basically, the workers only scheduled to work like 1-2 days and few hours that 1-2 days during a week. I went to bang table at their showroom. It was only under constant and repeated complaints to Qanvast and Exqsite management that things started moving faster. At 12th week then we did a conditional handover. Carpentry works not fully completed yet, some box enclosures are missing. It kinda officially started on 1/6/2023 and including rectification works, ended on 28/8/2023 for so little work requirements. Conclusion Overall, Hex lacks experience and knowledge in product and design functionality. He lacks design knowledge too. If things are done properly, it's his credits. When it goes sideways, the faults are always someone else except him. If you are in a rush for time (or have plenty), it's best to steer away from this firm if you are not into heart attack and heart pain on wasting money. Everyone I know said I overpaid this project and true enough I exceeded my budget by at least $10k (design, rectification, electrical, toilet and living room lights). And lucky that I declined painting service ($1,400 for sealant and 2 coats wall excluding ceiling) and also not to have the kitchen glass door ($2,000+) done. With the freed up money, I got another contractor to do a tea color glass barn styled kitchen door, fluted panels for 2 walls, 3 boxed up to cover up certain area, and changed LED with acrylic panels for toilet. All these done within a short 1.5 weeks. Don't believe too much about Qanvast Guarantee Program as they can't do much if things go wrong. These contractors will just use quotation to their benefits, and when things not done based on quotation or artwork, it's never their fault. It's a big regret to have engaged this firm, I'll need to curse and swear, and mopping over this wrong decision for the at least the next 5 years until MOP.

Great design ideas, good customer service. Tiling works provided by the tiler were very good, although he made a mistake in the pattern tiles and we had to intervene to ask him to change. plumbers and electricians did a decent job. the worst was the carpenter - he consistently got the designs wrong, measurements off, did a very poor job in apply laminates on wood work, bad in timelines, poor finishing and zero pride in work. the laminates were all puckering off in less than 3 months after installation.. thankfully the warranty covered it. if you are working with the renovator, be careful on who they choose to do the carpentry with

We are very fortunate to have CK as our ID and we would like to describe him using '4Ps': Professional, Patient, Prompt and Pleasant. CK is very professional in his job. During our meetings and discussions, he would patiently listen to our needs and provide good suggestions. He planned the project schedule systematically and tried his best to execute the various jobs on time. As in all projects, we encountered unforeseen issues along the way. While taking our concerns and feedback into consideration, CK provided his honest views and practical solutions while trying his best to resolve them. Throughout the renovation journey, he was always contactable and responded promptly to our calls. It has been a great pleasure working with him as he is responsible, friendly and easy-going. Thank you very much CK!
