Like many new home owners, the process of looking for a trustworthy designer who can turn your imagination into reality was incredibly tedious. It took us over 3 months and numerous meetings with various designers before we chanced upon San Ng from Space Atelier. San stood out from the rest of his competitors with his excellent communication skills and attention to detail during the first meet-up where we discussed our initial design criteria. Through multiple discussions, we could see that San had an in depth understanding of how we wanted the overall feel of our house to be. When we suggested a design element which he felt was not practical or was opposing to the design flow of the home, he would tap on his experience to provide alternatives to ensure we made the right choices. We appreciate that he wasn't just a "yes" man, but a designer who took pride in ensuring that our design was practical and unique to suit our lifestyle. The testament to his flair for design was when we had to select the colour scheme for the house. San took the effort to produce the overall design in various colour schemes, our own selection of colours (light wood and beige) vs his proposed colours (darker wood and greys). To our surprise, we actually preferred his colour scheme although we initially wanted lighter tones. Come the start of renovations, we found it to be hassle free as San would give us timely updates (through video calls and photos) on the start of works, completion and rectification works for areas which he deemed were not up to standard. He would also let us know in advance when we needed the appliances to be delivered and that made liaising with the retailers so much easier. Overall, my wife and I are very pleased to have engaged San as our designer. Our home would not have been the same without his expertise.
