We spoke to 5-6 interior designers. Jocelyn stood out with the way she listened attentively to us and presented her initial ideas and concept for our 3-room resale flat. She understood our needs for a vintage/eclectic theme and farmhouse/country kitchen and is able to work around our budget as well. Jack is our operations manager and helped us to manage the overall renovation process, other contractors, deliveries, renovation schedule. He was very responsive and always updated us regularly on the renovation process. He was very dependable and helped us to receive many of our deliveries. Forefront partners with Hafary for tiles. Overall, the wood-like tiles we chose with Jocelyn were very suitable for the ‘raw’ and ‘eclectic’ style that we were going for. The tiles are very compatible with a variety of wooden and country furniture. Jocelyn guided us through the selection for 2h, recommending designs and types. Super grateful for her patience! However, the tiles that we eventually received at our house was not representative of the sample shown on display. There were some that were in darker shades. It was not Forefront’s fault, but Hafary’s. The placement of tiles by the tiler was slightly disappointing. They did not care about design - did not spread out the different shades of tiles evenly across the house. There were some clusters of very light/very dark tiles. We had to feedback to Jocelyn halfway through the tiling works and she informed the tilers promptly. After the renovation was fully done, we discovered some hollow tiles (about 7 of them) that needed to be hacked and redone. It was promptly arranged by Jack for rectification works. Overall, there is still unevenness of the tiles at some corners of the house, with some grout lines done shabbily, clumping together. We were offered bi-fold doors for the bathrooms. Choices were limited and there were no real full door samples to choose from, except a catalogue of colours and frame designs. Lastly, the kitchen cabinets were done as we have envisioned. Jocelyn was able to ensure that even the smallest of details that we wanted for our carpentry could be met. As our renovation was halted by the circuit breaker, Jocelyn discussed with us in detail the design and specifications of the carpentry over Zoom call. There were many uncertainties during this period, but Forefront did what they could to progress the renovation works. The fabrication of the carpentry was done in Malaysia during the circuit breaker period so that the carpentry could be installed as soon as renovation works could continue. Kudos to Jocelyn and her team for the forward planning! We’re very grateful to have engaged Jocelyn and Jack to help us in our renovation journey especially during the very uncertain times of Covid. They were very patient and provided constant updates. Thank you for your professionalism, dedication and hard work!

Joey and Jing Long from forefront helped transform my first home and renovation (an oldish 80s era HDB flat). Significant effort was made to understand my needs in the initial phase while also considering time management. Joey had keen sensing of my aesthetic preferences and was able to give on-point design advice. Project management was smooth - I was able to be hands off and just receive progress updates remotely. Overall, there was a good balance of providing expert opinion while taking in client preferences. Ultimately, I think Forefront's key strength/advantage is a basic yet critical skill for IDs, namely, design/artistic sense - they basically made my flat look good!

It was a pleasant experience working with Nikki. She listened to our needs and came up with a design that is meeting our expectations. Nikki was very accommodating as we had several revisions of the design we wanted. There was also good input from her side and advice on what to do and what not to do. She is also very prompt in assisting to rectify problems during and post reno. Overall, we are satisfied with the service provided.

Valentina was recommended to me by a friend of mine. Price point was not the lowest, but she was one of the earnest ID out of the several IDs we spoke to. We only started looking for ID during the COVID circuit breaker period, so we first contacted her via phone call. Usual phone calls or Zoom meetings with IDs were pretty much standard, where they will find out what kind of idea we have in mind. However, Valentina went the extra mile to not only tell me what to look out for when searching for ID, she also asked about what our usual habits at home are (e.g. where do we usually hang out at home, etc.). In addition to that, she was easy to work with and I did not feel any difficulties in communicating with her. She was meticulous in spotting the defects, and even made sure that our damaged main door was restored. We made quite a few amendments after we agreed upon the design and she was very patient to handle all our requests, even heading down to the tile shop twice to choose the right tiles with us. We trust her experience and taste whenever we reach a point where we could not decide, and it really paid off! We really love how our flat turned out! Even after she handed the flat over to us, she was very prompt in getting the right people to fix the defects we found out after we moved in. We know she is handling many projects at one time, yet never once did we feel neglected or ignored despite her busy schedule. We will always be grateful for her professionalism and patience throughout this whole project. Kudos to her and her team of contractors who have worked tirelessly ever since the end of Circuit Breaker period. Will definitely recommend her to my friends! (we DID recommend her to our friends who stay a few levels above us and they also decided to engage her for their renovation!) Thanks Valentina!
