We met SiNan at Qanvast Hangout event after meeting several design firms shortlisted by Qanvast. She was the fourth and last Interior Designer that we talked to last day and what a find! I'm glad that we just made another effort to discuss with 1 more designer before we call it a day. She has this big smile and shows the most interests in doing our renovation project. After pitching our requirements of what we would need in our next home to be and with only an 8-week timeline to do all the renovation work before move in, she quickly tried to find the nearest available slot from her schedule to prepare the quotation and plan the work with only a month before key handover. We met in 2-weeks time for the detailed quote discussion and she came immediately ready with proposed design theme, tonality and materials to use. And she emphasized the importance of the ID being 'onsite' during the quotation review which is her upfront commitment aside from delivering a beautiful home. And she was really onsite a lot. We chose SiNan because she really got the details that we talked about on our first meet which shows that she listens carefully. She has a lot of idea and quick to point out what are the options or alternatives to what I am thinking which is the missing piece in what me and wifey can think of. And we sensed that she has this strong personality that is needed to push the people involved in the renovation to deliver on time and right quality as we cannot afford major or a lot of reworks. She was dedicated to ensure that our project have what we need to start on Day 1 like water and electricity meter transfers while juggling her other renovation works even taking the initiative to volunteer with talking to the current owner of the flat to sign the Indemnity Form. The renovation started on-time and with a little hiccup during the demo with an electrical problem which became a blessing to put forward a few electrical work to be done. Lawrence is now in the picture and is looking after the projects and coordination as well. We we get regular update on the detailed progress and what's the next schedule. They plan ahead and gives a heads-up on what is our assignment for the next two weeks which is important for both me and my wife since we work long-hours. They try their best to match our schedule and even work until late hours for face-to-face with us to finalize the design. But we made it sure that we gave the attention that SiNan and Lawrence is giving to our project. Our detailed drawing also came during the demo process and it was glorious to look at that just added more excitement in the end product. They really helped us through the selection of materials alternative options of where we can save and when NOT to save. They are in line with us in putting the dollars in the right places to have the home that we are hoping for. We avoid spending like we never spent at all. Their design integrated the bathroom tiles, fluted glass panel, quartz, and sink that we selected to have en elegant hotel like effect. An open kitchen design integrated with the living room to have more entertaining space and free movement. The waterfall peninsula used sintered stone now serves as the main dining table with a matching backsplash which elevated the sophisticated look of the kitchen. She specifically put up a designer wall near the entrance that introduces an entire wall of fluted panel in the living room with variable length LED accents. They covered my bomb shelter with a huge cabinet that is really useful for us in storing our stuffs. The colour palette and tonality were carefully kept at neutral with the aim to soften the light coming from the west sun and to easily play with colours and texture in the house that even our old furnitures are able to fit in nicely. SiNan worked to surprise my wife with an origami painted wall! And the lights! The carefully selected lights purchased personally by me and wifey integrated with SiNan light choices. The positioning for the LEDs accented the walls of the living room and the countertop. And I must add that they did personally shop for the designer light switches and plugs to save a few hundred dollars. The cabinets were bold in colours selecting Grey and Truffle mixes with minimum texture to avoid overpowering the main highlights of a particular section of our home. These cabinets are high quality laminates using 30mm thick material that is priced comparatively per square foot with the others. They've put in my requested adjustable ledges and spice drawer. She threw in the idea of putting storage tower which we really love! They check every dimensions, quality, warranty, and fit of every product that I personally plan to buy and they used their network to find the suppliers that can give the best deal and meet the timelines for appliances, aircon, lights and toilet fittings. They work round the clock in keeping everyone on time for delivery and progress work. The functionalities that I've asked are not being compromised so they are quick to correct or change plans in case there are misalignment. They both professionally handled and manage through our quirks a lot of times and manage through changed items after it was agreed. With an 8-week timeline, the schedule is very difficult to compromise. We were still able to move in 2 days before the initial agreed date so they just had to schedule all the cleaning ahead of time. We just handle small follow-up/additional items and touch-ups. Overall, we are really really happy with how the renovation came out and what SiNan and Lawrence delivered curating the details of our home around 'US'. We are deeply appreciative of the effort and dedication they've put into our home.

Zen Ng was the ID we worked with. Read positive reviews about him and the company before deciding to go ahead. His service was good initially. He provided helpful suggestions during the planning/design phase, and was very responsive to messages. But it soon became a NIGHTMARE after we moved in. MULTIPLE DEFECTS were found, which made me question the workmanship. Examples include MISALIGNMENT of the kitchen cabinet, INCONSISTENT colour on laminate of bedroom cabinet, LEAKING bidet and showerhead in bathroom, LEAKING tap in kitchen, LEAKING aircon, PONDING of water on balcony, UNSEALED GAPS between cabinet and floor, SCREWS NOT INSERTED into shoe cabinet causing shelving to COLLAPSE, and MANY more. I have inserted some pictures below for reference. Despite finding these defects, I’m actually ok as long as they get fixed. However, Zen gave EXCUSES TO TRY TO AVOID FIXING some of them until we put our foot down and insisted that they be rectified. Some of the defects are so BLATANT that it’s ridiculous that Zen actually TRIED TO REASON HIS WAY OUT of fixing it. For example, you may refer to the pictures below showing kitchen cabinet misalignment, and also ponding on balcony, which Zen ATTEMPTED TO AVOID FIXING until we had to angrily confront him and they were eventually fixed. But why do I have to insist it be done instead of Zen simply doing a proper job without giving so many excuses, especially when the defect is so obvious???? Furthermore, Zen’s ATTITUDE CAME ACROSS AS CONFRONTATIONAL during such instances. In fact, he did apologize once when he felt that he might have offended me. However, I can’t help but think of situations where he’s able to get away from fixing these defects if a homeowner were to be more passive in nature and simply agreed to his excuses in order to avoid conflict. Fast forward to today, there are still defects that have not been fixed, one of which (moisture in bedroom wall beside toilet) where the cause could not be identified. I also have constant air-con leaking issues, of which only some have been rectified. Have highlighted the remaining air-con issues to Zen but HAVE YET TO HEAR BACK FROM HIM, which is a stark contrast to his very responsive nature in the initial stages of this project. Overall, I’m very disappointed in the service provided. CAN TALK, BUT CAN’T EXECUTE properly.

When I’m first met Lawrence & Karen from Image Creative Design, they impressed me with their ability to listen to the vision for my home and took the time to get to know my personal style and preferences. Using this information they create a design plan that perfectly blended functionality and aesthetics. They incorporated unique touches, such as using cohesive wood grain across multiple carpentry and incorporating industrial metal frames. These small details really made my home feel like it was truly mine, and I was constantly amazed by how well the designer was able to execute my vision. I also appreciate the ability to bounce off ideas with Lawrence and trusting he would give me his honest feedback in a pragmatic approach. As with all renovation, there were challenges but the team was always transparent and worked through solutions. They kept me informed every step of the way, which made the process less stressful. Overall, they truly transformed my home into a space that I am proud to call my own, and grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented and dedicated professional.
