Our search for our HDB was a relatively quick one, we saw about 5 flats and in the end settled the 3rd one, a maisonette in Hougang. So with that out of the way it was now time for our renovation hunting! This is where qanvast was an extremely valuable resource. I spent a ton of time surfing through blogs and user reviews, and after answering many calls and doing my own research, it came down to just 2 renovation interior design firms that I had shortlisted to visit. For the first one, I had this impression that if the website looks good, with a nice big showroom, the firm probably is successful and good. So I was actually super confident that I found my dream designer when i stepped in the showroom. Oh I was so wrong! It was a huge company with a impressive showroom and the finishing looked great. But the designer was not at all professional and kept on “disapproving” our design ideas. So I decided to meet up with the second firm. Instead of heading down to their show room, the designer met me at my workplace instead. Jeremy was professional, he knew exactly what we wanted and needed. He gave us excellent ideas, tips and was just a breeze to work with. So we decided to go with Jeremy, and not because of the showroom or the company’s website (because I didn’t see both yet when we chose him) but we went for Jeremy because of his professionalism and that he made us feel comfortable and confident at the same time. 4 months later, we have our dream home. It’s simply what we wished and dreamed of. Jeremy was professional throughout the renovations and after. He was always there when we needed him, our renovation process was a bliss.
