We were recommended to Ascend by our friend and of course, being 2nd time home owners, we did our fair share of homework and went to few other ID firms before deciding on Ascend and we were certainly pleased with our choice! Our ID, Agnes, has an exceptional sense of design and keen eye for detail, which makes him stand out from the other IDs. He helps us with the furniture/ laminate/ paint selection (which we trust him 101% with) and provides good colour perspective advices to us to match the overall look and feel of the house. We love the neutral hues and soft curves which all turned out to be what we had envisioned. At the same time, Agnes does not compromise on practicability and functionality of the carpentry layout/ accessibility and will advise on pros and cons of available options for informed decision making. Our project manager, Yanhao, is very on the ball and prompt in terms of communication and updates to us. We were lucky to have him on the team, managing the contractors, providing advices on issues on a timely and professional manner, monitoring the project timeline to ensure smooth project completion. The duo was responsive to us during the renovation, addressing our concerns and patiently answering our questions. Carpentry workmanship is also superb! Despite some hiccups along the way, the duo was nevertheless able to provide us with satisfactory resolution of those issues faced. A family member recommended Ascend Design and we were happy with the overall experience. Our home renovation was a major overhaul with a fairly tight timeline. We had no knowledge about interior design and needed somebody good at what they do to help us, NOT those “regular contractors claim ID” type. Out of all IDs we reached out, the proposed design from team Ascend led by Agnes stood out most. Agnes played an instrumental role to ensure we get what we envisioned our place to look and worked within our budget. He is professional, accommodating and has an eye for detail. His ideas are refreshing and we love it. Yan Hao is the right person when it comes to project management. He is always responsive, helpful, physically present to oversee all stages of the renovation and making sure all things completed on time. Areas that required rectification/rework were addressed promptly. From concept to execution, the entire process was close to seamless. Thank you team Ascend. We love our new home! ❤️

We had the best experience working with Ascend Design for the renovation of our 5-room HDB resale flat. Alfred and Renhao were our ID and project manager respectively. Alfred was the last out of the 6 IDs we had met, and my husband & I were both unanimously sure that we had wanted to go with him after the first discussion we had. Alfred was very patient in listening to what we had wanted and also proposed a lot of good ideas and designs. Budget was a concern for us, and he also tried his best to work within our affordability. Throughout the entire project, we were assured and confident in Alfred’s choices - from the laminates to the tiles and to the paint colors. He has such a good eye for making sure all of them blend in well together and we could not be any happier with the final outcome! We also want to thank Renhao for making sure this entire project was completed in time for our wedding. He had gave us an estimated timeline (2.5 months) since the beginning, and the whole process was pretty smooth and according to the plan. Everything was according to schedule and we could move in right after our wedding :) He was very communicative and answered our queries efficiently and professionally throughout this entire period. We are super happy with our new house and are very blessed to have been able to work together with Alfred and Renhao from Ascend Design! As someone with very little design or artistic knowledge, it was very nice and assuring to be able to leave the aesthetics and layout of the house into the hands of our ID & project manager. We want to wholeheartedly thank Alfred and Renhao for this great collaboration and would highly recommend them😄

We embarked on our renovation journey with Peixuan from Ascend Design, and it was nothing short of delightful! After meeting with several interior design firms, Peixuan stood out for her sincerity and a keen understanding of our design concept, making our decision to choose Ascend Design an easy one. Throughout the entire renovation process, Peixuan proved to be exceptionally accommodating and approachable. What set her apart was her ability to provide insightful design suggestions without imposing ideas, giving us the space needed for decision-making. Her patience was truly commendable, ensuring we felt comfortable every step of the way. While we encountered minor hiccups in the project, Peixuan handled them with grace, resolving issues amicably and reasonably. We shortlisted Ascend amongst others for our BTO renovation and eventually went with them due to their eye for details and well thought designs. They stood out from other IDs, because they were able to listen to our needs/requirements, and propose a layout/design suitable to our lifestyle. As first-time home owners, we are glad that we could rely on Agnes and Jasper heavily throughout the renovation process, especially when it comes to choosing colours for our wall paint, carpentry laminates and more (there are so many shades of greys and whites!). Agnes was also a gem as he helped us to curate furniture and lighting from Taobao. Because of Agnes’s aesthetic sense, we have been receiving countless compliments from our friends that our house looks really nice. What is great about Ascend is also that they have a good relationship with their contractors, and whenever we have issues or adjustments to be made to work already done, they were able to get their contractor to return to the project to fix the problems. Thank you Agnes and Jasper for building our first dream home, we are very excited to move in!

We recently completed the renovation of our Clementi 5 Room BTO Flat with Ascend Design, collaborating closely with Agnes, our designer, and Jasper, our project coordinator. The creative design of our home layout was a key factor in our decision to go with Ascend. Agnes crafted a floor plan that maximized our space and met our multiple requirements (e.g. enclosed kitchen with large open-concept living space). On Agnes: Amongst the designers that we've met and we follow on instagram/checked out at design fairs - we really resonated with Agnes's design aesthetic. At the start of the design process, we were impressed by how he managed to convey our thoughts into a moodboard to help us envision how the house would look like. His recommendations on the fixtures, material and colour selection when we were choosing our furniture/flooring led to a creation of a house with a cohesive theme beyond the built-in fixtures. We were boring people and initially started with a bland colour palate, the resultant fun pops of the house was due to Agnes's input. One last thing of note was that Agnes's custom design of our kitchen island really brought to life the pinterest inspiration behind it. On Jasper: Jasper proved to be an exceptional project coordinator. He was able to, on the spot, tell you whether a design idea was feasible or not. He was readily available, dealt with last minute injects very calmly and was able to coordinate the significant number of vendors that was involved in the renovation of our home. What was also particularly useful was Jasper's ability to sketch out design thoughts on the spot, so that we can get a sense of the dimensions to make a decision. He also had ready and updated knowledge on the pricing of our proposed fixtures and materials, which was very helpful for us as cost was a concern given our budget. Impressively, he engineered a technically challenging bookshelf with a bi-fold hidden door, seamlessly integrated without a frame. General comments about the firm: Ascend's pricing was very reasonable amidst the various contractors that we approached. They had good contacts with subcontractors in the renovation industry, which we utilised for our home. Lastly, they were very generous with rectification when errors were spotted. (e.g. problem with the flooring) While we were generally happy with the entire experience, there were two areas which we feel they can improve on — firstly, their response times could be slow, but their input was invariably impactful when it comes. A caveat was also that we did not have tight timelines for our renovation project. Secondly, the initial renders didn’t do justice to the final outcome—the end result was significantly better. Overall, we highly recommend Ascend Design for their creativity, execution excellence, and professionalism. Special thanks to Agnes and Jasper for not just meeting but exceeding our complex requirements. They’re not only great at what they do but also genuinely nice people to work with!

Ascend Design truly made our renovation journey a delightful experience. The design Audrey crafted, derived from her unique perspective, brought a level of creativity that surpassed our initial expectations. It added a touch of uniqueness and personality to our space that we hadn't even considered, making our home truly one-of-a-kind. Despite facing some initial challenges, the project plan unfolded seamlessly, and Audrey & Ren Hao managed to deliver on schedule. This commitment to the timeline was impressive and demonstrated their dedication to ensuring a smooth and timely renovation process. It turned what could have been a stressful situation into a surprisingly stress-less experience. One of the key aspects that sets Ascend Design apart is their transparency with costs. The pricing was fair and acceptable, aligning well with our budget constraints. We met with 3 IDs at the start and even though Peixuan took a long while to get back, we were super impressed with how she did up drawings of all our rooms, along with suggestions for how she would design our house. Out of the three, she was the only ID who impressed me with her design plan and we decided to go with her. Throughout the renovation journey, Peixuan was super helpful and genuine. She gave us suggestions to improve the design of the house, and even helped us to suggest what colour of furniture and curtains we should get so that everything had the same cohesive tone. We had a lot of questions and Peixuan was always patient and explained well, helping us to weigh the pros and cons. We went to Hafary three times and each time, she always appeared eager to help us choose the best tiles to match our house. We have moved in for 4 months now and we feel great when we come home. We’ve gotten a lot of compliments about our house from guests too. We often talk about how fortunate we are to have had Peixuan as our ID. We heard other stories about unresponsive and pushy IDs who prioritised their design plans or didn’t bother responding once the bulk of the money had been paid but we never felt that way with Peixuan. She always gave us options and always kept our needs and our lifestyle in mind. She was always responsive and helpful and we feel like our renovation journey was so enjoyable and smooth because of her. Even now, she’s very responsive when helping us to coordinate rectifications. The workmanship was a bit lacking but Peixuan was quick in helping us to schedule the rectifications :) We would recommend Peixuan to anyone who is renovating! She’s an amazing ID!

We met with at least five different IDs and eventually decided on engaging Pei Xuan because she was able to accurately capture our design ideas and provided her own insightful feedback. She was candid, very engaging, and willing to discuss with us at lengths over seemingly minor issues that we were concerned about. After officially engaging her, we found that she had a great relationship with the carpenters and often stayed behind to help out even though that was not required of her. All renovations come with hiccups and it’s important to have some one that is willing to address them with a positive attitude - and Pei Xuan has proven that she’s one of those rare IDs! Communication is a vital part of every renovation and we are glad we were able to communicate well with her. Throughout the whole design phase, she was flexible and willing to listen, during the choosing of materials, she was also equally (if not more) invested than us in picking that “perfect” shade or colour.

We found Ascend Design by chance on Instagram. After speaking to a number of firms, we noticed that Zar was one of the few interior designs who was willing to spend time and effort to understand our lifestyle needs and translate that into a design that was both aesthetic and functional. She was the only designer who showed us a novel perspective of how a standard BTO layout could be adjusted to become more spacious than it is. In addition, she was also one of the few designers who provided a mood-board to explain the creative direction while the rest typically only asked if we had any reference photos to share. The whole consultation process was personalised and warm, and the quote was also explained in a clear and transparent manner. Zar was also a great project manager who single-handedly coordinated and communicated with the different contractors including contractors who were slightly difficult. When we encountered issues with the aircon trunking and microcement flooring, she responded actively and found ways to help us resolve these issues. She further went the extra mille to search for potential furnitures and lightings for all areas of the house to guide us through the styling process and we appreciated it as we took in most of her suggestions! We worked with Ren Hao and the outcome of our reno really exceeded our expectations. Ren Hao is reliable and he has really great ideas. We appreciate the fact that he curated our home to be not only extremely aesthetically pleasing but very functional as well since we had space limitations. It was enjoyable working with him. Ascend design is a reputable firm and I would definitely recommend engaging Ren Hao as your ID.

Our reno experience was great! Out of all 6-7 IDs/reno contractors we met, Pei Xuan was the only one we vibed with and was respectful of our tight budget. She was never pushy about any design element or tried to inflate the cost. She gave great suggestions and we had to rely on her for many design ideas as we only had a vague idea of what we wanted. Pricing was pretty transparent for the most part and there were only a few additional costs that we chose to include during the actual reno, out of necessity. She is experienced and great at scheduling to ensure that we meet our move in target date. The entire reno only took around 2-3 months. After the reno, she was still very prompt with her replies and in scheduling contractors to come and fix defects. Overall, Pei Xuan is super friendly and on-the-ball. We have already recommended her to a bunch of friends and would continue to do so!
