After what happened with my previous ID/project manager, trust me when I say I was traumatised. My renovation was abandoned halfway, money was gone, the house was left incomplete and what should have been an exciting journey became one of the most stressful periods of my life. Then I met J Design & Build - Winnie & JJ first. From day one, they made me feel at ease. They didn't walk into a perfect project – they inherited a complete mess. My little 3-room flat was basically a renovation rescue mission. Enter YY, who became not just my project manager but also my unofficial therapist at times. There were many moments when I panicked, overthought things, or worried that history would repeat itself. YY never once lost his patience. He answered every message, every question, and every "OMG what if..." scenario calmly and professionally. More importantly, he delivered on every promise he made. What my previous ID couldn't complete in almost six months, YY and his team completed in about a month. Not only did they stick to the timeline, they actually went above and beyond and finished earlier than expected. The quality of the work was amazing. Even with my limited budget, they managed to transform what was once an abandoned renovation project into a home that I now proudly call my own little mansion. Every corner was done with care, and you can tell they genuinely take pride in their work. Looking back, I honestly think they were the brave ones for taking me on as a client. After being cheated before, I came with a lot of fear, anxiety and trust issues. But YY never made me feel like I was difficult. Instead, he gave me something I hadn't had for a long time during this renovation journey — peace of mind. I would recommend J Design & Build and especially YY over and over again. Engaged Junjie and Winnie to renovate my parents' 38 year old HDB flat. They were a pleasure to work with, highly responsive (which is always assuring) to our queries, transparent and flexible with our requests. The entire process was generally smooth with no major hiccups; any ssues identified were also promptly addressed. We pretty much knew what we wanted but also appreciated the expertise and advice they offered on what would make sense and workarounds when we needed alternatives. Kudos to Winnie who always ensured that responses and communication were timely even over the weekends or late at night!

Got J interior to renovate my house….They were very accommodating & efficient.whenever some issues cropped up, I will message them & reply came in very quickly. They always tried their best to solve any issues during the renovation period. They did what I wanted & suggested very sound advise & solution! The process of renovation was made easier & stress free due to their professionalism! The workers were very friendly & did a great job too. Highly recommended!!

The entire renovation process was smooth and well-managed, with excellent communication throughout. Updates were frequent and timely, and Winnie/JJ were always responsive—even outside regular working hours—which gave me great reassurance at every stage of the renovation journey. What stood out most was how iterative and collaborative the design process was. While it unfolded differently from what I initially imagined, it was a welcome experience. Requests for changes or shifts in direction were handled with openness and professionalism—there was never any judgment or blame, only thoughtful listening and expert guidance on solutions and alternatives. Workmanship was top-notch. The carpenters, electricians, and plumbers were enthusiastic (and friendly and helpful too!) and took pride in their work, which showed in the final outcome. I was most pleased by J Design’s experience—the ability to know what works (and what doesn’t) and to translate that into practical, well-considered recommendations. One area for improvement would be more thorough post-renovation quality checks, particularly for paintwork and plumbing. While the final cost exceeded my initial budget slightly due to higher-end material selections, and the timeline ran a little longer than planned, both were reasonable and communicated clearly. Overall, I am very pleased with the experience and outcome.

If you are living and renovating your place at the same time, then you will be sure that you would be well taken care of by JJ and Winnie. Having had bad experiences with other contractors, we were at our wits' end on who we could approach for the renovation of our home. Thankfully a friend recommended and with the expertise of both JJ and Winnie and their team. Our home is a testament that good and honest contractors do exist. We had a really great experience working with our ID team, especially Winnie and JJ. They were responsible, responsive, and honestly a joy to work with throughout the entire renovation journey. Renovations are never perfect, and I think it’s realistic not to expect 100% smooth sailing. But what truly matters is having a team that stands by you, and Winnie and JJ did exactly that. They were always there to address issues, offer solutions, and make sure things were put right. Most importantly, our home turned out absolutely gorgeous. They really brought our vision to life, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result. Having been scammed before, trust was a big concern for me. However, with them, I genuinely felt safe and assured throughout the process. That peace of mind meant a lot. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for a reliable and dedicated ID team!

First of all, i would like to give my many thanks to JJ & Winnie and the staff of the whole company. Everybody work with a smile and they are so friendly. From start to finish, the whole experience was excellent and completely stress-free. Before i enquire a quote, i actually have met 5 IDs. JJ & Winnie quotation are very transparent and very competitive. Although competitive, they don't cut down on material or workmanship quality. Me and my wife was very very impressed to see the quality of works they delivered. I must say they hold very high standard in their works. What's renovation without error. But JJ & Winnie, instead of pointing finger and pushing the blame like what i see in other horror reviews, they accept, no excuse, find solutions to rectified it beautifully. JJ will always be on site to make sure everything is done correctly before moving off. If there's any defects, he will point out first before we even see it and will arrange his workers to rectified asap. I think another big advantage is that they have their own carpentry workshop, own manpower, own electrical team, own plumbing team, i think most of the scope, don't need to outsource. which made the whole process so much more efficient. And because of this, there is no delay at all and meet our timeline. Overall, JJ & Winnie works show that they are very experience in this field. The clear & timely updates make the whole renovation process stress free. I never had to worry about chasing or stressing over deadlines. Instead, I could just relax knowing things were in good hands. I would say I’m extremely satisfied and impressed. Me & my wife are very lucky to find a team that combines good pricing, responsibility, punctuality, and great craftsmanship all at once. I would 100% recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and worry-free renovation experience.
