Kelly was recommended to my wife and me by our friends, who had nothing but good things to say about her. After meeting several IDs, we knew Kelly was the one we wanted to work with. She understood what we were looking for and helped bring our vision to life while elevating it with her own ideas. She has a great eye for detail and was always on the ball throughout the renovation process. Right up until the handover, Kelly made sure every detail was taken care of and that we were happy with the final result. As first-time homeowners going through a renovation, my wife and I really appreciated how she made the entire journey smooth and fuss-free. I'm really glad we chose Kelly and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for an interior designer!

Haiying is very good in project management! She ensured all works are completed within the timeline planned. She updates us on our Reno progress and ensure rectification is done promptly. She is also flexible and able to help come up with suggestions so we can keep within our budget. The final result is similar to the render, just like how we imagined it to be! This review is written especially for designer Jacqueline, whom I had the pleasure of liaising with during my home renovation planning. Although I eventually decided not to proceed with her proposal due to my own personal preferences and considerations, I would like to recognise and commend her for her professionalism, competence and dedication throughout our interactions. From the very beginning, it was evident that Jacqueline is an experienced designer with a strong understanding of her craft. She demonstrated a sound knowledge of what could and could not be done, taking into consideration HDB’s renovation regulations as well as the type and age of the property. I appreciated how she was able to provide clear and practical guidance, which gave me greater confidence in understanding the possibilities and limitations of renovating my home. What particularly impressed me was her ability to prepare a full-house rendering incorporating my preferred colour palette and present it during our second meeting. This allowed me to visualise her proposed design direction and better understand the thought process behind her ideas and the overall flow of the space. I recognise that producing such detailed renderings at such an early stage requires considerable time, effort and commitment, and I genuinely appreciated her willingness to invest so much into helping me envision my future home. I am truly grateful for the thought, time and dedication Jacqueline put into preparing her proposal. While we ultimately did not move forward together, that does not take away from the positive experience I had working with her or the appreciation I have for the effort she put in. Her willingness to help homeowners visualise the potential of their homes is something worth recognising. I wish her every success in her future projects and hope she continues to find clients who connect with her design approach and appreciate the value she brings to the table.

I’m writing this review based on my pleasant and positive experience interacting with designer Matthew Chew. Although I eventually decided not to proceed with his proposal due to my own personal preferences and considerations, I would still like to commend him for his professionalism, sincerity and proactive approach throughout the process. After our first meeting, where he took the time to understand my needs and requirements, Matthew continued to engage with me while preparing the design plan and quotation. He would occasionally share photos of tiles he came across that he thought I might like, or simply to get a better sense of my preferences. I really appreciated these thoughtful gestures, as they showed that he was genuinely invested in understanding my vision and exploring ideas that might suit my needs. This level of attentiveness stood out to me, especially knowing that interior designers often have multiple projects to manage concurrently. I recognise Matthew’s dedication to his craft and genuinely appreciate the time, thought and effort he put into preparing the plan and quotation. While we ultimately did not move forward together, I walked away with a positive impression of him and am grateful for the pleasant experience. I believe Matthew’s sincerity, thoughtfulness and willingness to go the extra mile are qualities worth recognising. I would be happy to recommend him to anyone looking for an interior designer who takes the time to understand their needs and approaches his work with genuine care.

I engaged Decor 8 for my HDB renovation, which commenced on 20 July 2026. As of 13 October 2026, nearly three months later, the renovation remains at the wet works stage, with substantial contractual works incomplete and rectification still ongoing. My experience has raised serious concerns about the firm’s integrity, transparency, workmanship, quality control and project management. 1. Serious Worker Misconduct and Hygiene Incident Human waste and toilet paper were discovered in the master bathroom wastewater floor trap during renovation works. This was an unacceptable incident in my own home, requiring professional cleaning and extensive rectification, including hacking and reinstatement of affected areas. While Decor 8 subsequently undertook rectification, the incident caused significant disruption and raised serious concerns about worker conduct and site supervision. 2. Serious Concerns About Integrity and Transparency During hacking works arising from the worker hygiene incident, I discovered that tile pieces had been used to construct a wall extension where hollow blocks had been specified and quoted. What concerns me most is not simply the difference in construction materials, but that this substitution was never proactively disclosed to me. The discrepancy came to light only because an entirely separate incident required hacking that exposed the internal construction. Had that not occurred, I might never have known that the agreed specifications had not been followed. Although Decor 8 subsequently rectified the wall, this does not address my fundamental concern about integrity and transparency. As a homeowner, how can I be confident that other concealed works have been carried out according to the agreed specifications when this discrepancy was discovered only by chance? Overall — A Substantial Loss of Trust These are only two of several issues I have encountered, but they are the most concerning because they raise fundamental questions about Decor 8’s worker conduct, integrity and quality control. While I acknowledge the corrective works undertaken, my concern extends beyond rectification. Significant issues were discovered and pursued by me rather than proactively identified through the firm’s supervision and quality-control processes. Nearly three months after commencement, the renovation remains at the wet works stage, with substantial contractual works yet to commence. The repeated disruption, additional hacking and prolonged delays have significantly undermined my trust in Decor 8’s integrity, workmanship and project management. I am sharing my experience so prospective homeowners can make an informed decision.

It was an amazing experience working with Stephen from Carpenters tradehub21. We have went to around 10 IDs and decided to work with him. He is easygoing and accommodating yet display professionalism and expertise in advising on the aesthetic and also functionalities. Providing options and alternatives during renovation hiccups. Ivonne has been very responsive and on the ball throughout our renovation. She’s quick to reply to messages, regularly checks on the progress of the works, and keeps us updated. Really appreciate that she also goes the extra mile when needed, such as helping us purchase stuff and coordinating the little details along the way. While we first decided to work with Alchemist Design for their value for money qoutation, working with our ID Muzz was a great experience. He brought sharp attention to detail and thoughtful design suggestions, while always respecting our preferences and decisions. ​He didn't just manage the reno project, he proactively helped us source for reliable vendors or suggest vendors that he trusts, for things like curtains and essential home accessories. Throughout the entire process, he kept us updated, worked closely and communicated with contractors from start to finish, and ensured everything ran smoothly. Even post-renovation, he remains contactable and reliable whenever we have issues or touch-ups. ​Our Muji inspired matrimonial home turned out even better than we had imagined. We had a great experience working with Jaren from Alchemists Design for our home renovation. What stood out most was Jaren’s creativity and thoughtful design ideas. She really took the time to understand what we wanted and was able to translate our ideas into a beautiful space, and suggest design features which we were very happy to incorporate. Jaren was also patient and understanding with us. Whenever we had questions or concerns, she would take the time to explain things clearly and make sure we understood the options before moving forward. This made the whole process much less stressful and gave us confidence in the decisions we were making. We also really appreciated her hard work and dedication throughout the entire project. Despite being pregnant at the time, she remained committed and involved, and we could really see how much effort she put into seeing our project through. We’re very grateful to have had Jaren as our ID and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is creative, dedicated, patient, and genuinely invested in her clients and their homes!

Overall, I had a pleasant renovation journey with Renologist, and a big part of that was thanks to my ID, CY. What I appreciated most about CY was his sense of responsibility. Renovation is never completely smooth, and we definitely had our fair share of issues along the way. But whenever something came up, CY never tried to avoid the problem or push it aside. He was always willing to follow up, discuss possible solutions, and help get things sorted out. He is also very easy-going, patient and easy to communicate with. Throughout the renovation, I had quite a number of requests, changes and small details that I wanted to adjust, and CY was generally very accommodating. He also helped me out on quite a few things beyond what I initially expected, which I really appreciated. That said, the renovation was not perfect. There were some issues with project scheduling, and the overall timeline ended up being longer than originally planned. There were definitely moments when I felt the coordination and scheduling could have been better. As for the final outcome, I wouldn’t say everything turned out 100% perfect, but considering the budget I had set aside for the renovation, I think the overall result was fair and satisfactory. Most importantly, the issues and requests I raised along the way were eventually addressed, and the renovation came to a proper conclusion. At the end of the day, I think having an ID who is responsible and willing to solve problems matters a lot, especially when things do not go exactly according to plan. On that front, CY did a good job. I would definitely recommend CY to friends who are looking for a responsible, patient and approachable ID for their renovation.
