Renovating a home involves many decisions and moving parts, from discussing ideas to choose finishes and seeing everything come together on site. We appreciate the work carried out by the Renologist team throughout our renovation and the effort involved in coordinating the various aspects of the project. It was a significant process for us as homeowners, and finally see the completed space. Thank you to everyone involved in helping us through the renovation journey. There was some miscommunication, but it can be improved. Keep it up.

We recently completed a full home renovation for our BTO with Kenneth Kwan, and overall we are extremely satisfied with the entire experience from start to finish. From our very first consultation, it was clear that Kenneth genuinely wanted to understand what we needed, not just what looked good on paper. He took the time to ask thoughtful questions about our lifestyle, daily habits, and how we actually use our space, and used that to shape design ideas that felt tailor-made for us. Many of the suggestions were things we hadn't even thought of ourselves, but once proposed, he made perfect sense for how we live. Site visits, meetings, and updates all happened on schedule, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind, especially since renovation horror stories about delays and poor communication are so common. We always knew what stage we were at and what to expect next, which made the whole process far less stressful than we anticipated. The design itself struck a great balance between aesthetics and practicality. Our favourite part has to be the kitchen as we went with an open concept layout, and the island turned out even better than we imagined. It's become the natural gathering point in our home, whether we're cooking, having quick meals, or just chatting while someone's prepping food. The dry pantry alongside it was such a smart addition too, giving us tons of extra storage while keeping the main kitchen area clean and clutter-free. Beyond the kitchen, storage was maximised throughout the flat (which matters a lot in a BTO!), traffic flow felt natural, and small daily inconveniences we didn't even flag were quietly solved. It's the kind of design that looks great in photos but works even better in everyday life. What really impressed us, though, was how Kenneth handled things when problems came up. At one point our carpentry work didn't turn out as planned, but instead of brushing it off or making excuses, he took ownership of the issue immediately and got it rectified quickly. It's easy for an ID to look good when everything goes smoothly, but seeing how responsibly and promptly he dealt with a mistake gave us even more confidence in him. Not every hiccup can be avoided in a renovation, but having someone who takes responsibility and fixes things fast makes all the difference. Pricing was also fair and transparent. We never felt like we were being upsold unnecessarily, and the quotes given matched what we were eventually billed, with no unpleasant surprises along the way. Given the quality of work and service, we felt we got great value for what we paid.

I engaged Fineline for my home renovation and have paid 60% of the contract value to date. The original work schedule provided by Fineline indicated completion by 6 August. The project remains substantially incomplete. In late July, my assigned ID, James Tan, informed me that he had left the company but would nevertheless complete my project. On 8 August, after receiving no further update, I contacted him and was then informed that he would no longer be completing the project and that he was unable to advise who would take over. I have received no communication from Fineline regarding who will take over my project or how the outstanding works will be completed. I am also unable to establish contact with Fineline through its published email addresses and contact numbers.

One of the worst contractor experiences I have ever had. I paid 95% of the contract price, yet less than 50% of the agreed work was completed. The workmanship was poor, and although the contractor agreed to redo the defective work, they still failed to finish the job. What they left behind was completely unacceptable — exposed raw wood, protruding nails, splinter hazards and electrical wires left hanging. These are not minor cosmetic issues; they are serious safety concerns. And the worst part? I have been living with this situation for more than a month. My home has effectively been left in an unfinished and potentially dangerous condition, despite having already paid almost the entire contract amount. I gave the contractor an opportunity to rectify the problems. They failed to do so. I then sent formal legal correspondence, and they simply stopped communicating. 95% paid. Less than 50% completed. More than a month living with the mess. Safety hazards left behind. Legal letter ignored. Zero accountability. This is an astonishing level of poor workmanship, irresponsibility and lack of professionalism. Once most of the money was collected, there was apparently no urgency to complete the job or address the problems they created. An absolute nightmare from start to finish. Think very carefully before engaging this contractor. I would not recommend them to anyone. Contractor from hell — USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Honestly, choosing an interior designer was something we were quite nervous about because there were so many decisions to make, and we had no idea where to start. But working with Yong Sim made the whole journey a lot more enjoyable than we expected. We probably weren't the easiest clients at times — with ideas changing, designs being adjusted, and plenty of “what if we do this instead?” moments. But Yong Sim was always open to discussing things with us and helping us work through our many ideas. That made the whole renovation journey feel more like a collaboration, rather than us simply handing everything over and hoping for the best. Of course, there were stressful moments along the way, but it was reassuring to have Yong Sim guiding us through them. Whenever there were hiccups or even last-minute changes to the design, he was quick to respond and take action. We truly appreciated his support and how promptly he handled things when they came up. Now that everything is done, we’re really happy with the outcome and how everything turned out — just like what we had discussed and envisioned. We can finally call it our “Home Sweet Home”. Thanks, Yong Sim, for being part of this journey and for turning our ideas (and probably some very confusing Pinterest references) into a home we truly love!

We had a really good experience working with Jonathan Sim from SG Interior Design for our home renovation from May to August 2026. Jonathan was always very responsive and quick to answer our questions whenever we were unsure about something. He also took the time to explain our design options properly so that we understood what could or couldn't be done before making a decision. One thing we really appreciated was that he would always try to make our ideas as practical as possible while keeping our budget in mind. He would suggest more cost-saving alternatives where possible instead of asking us to spend unnecessarily, while still trying to achieve the look we wanted. Overall, the renovation journey went well and it was easy communicating with Jonathan throughout the process. We're happy with how our home turned out and really appreciate all his help and advice along the way. Thanks Jonathan for helping us put our first home together! 🏠🙏🏻

My wife and I made the decision to engage Sean from Key Concept to be our ID in Nov 2025. As it is our 1st time going through renovation, we did not know what to expect. It turned out that we had made a wise decision. Before we signed with Sean, he was very prompt in responding to our messages. Sean gave us the assurance and sincerity that he would also respond fast even after we signed with him. Subsequently, we chose Sean to be our ID. During the few months of preparation period, Sean brought us to various shops to get our materials (e.g. lightings, tiles, vinyl and etc). There was no pressure in purchasing our stuff from his recommended shops. Eventually, we got some items from other shops due to our considerations and preferences. Sean was able to draw 3D drawings and renderings by himself without the help of a drafter. Whenever we could not figure out his designs and ideas, he was able to provide his drawings and renderings to us swiftly. We found his pictorials to be clear and precise. When our renovation started in May 2026, Sean gave us his timeline and told us that it was possible to move in before Lunar 7th Month. We had indeed moved in during the National Day long weekend. During our renovation journey, Sean provided us with his opinions on further improvements that could be done (e.g. choices on paint colour, dimensions of electrical appliances, laminate selections and etc). After Sean had handed over to us, he was still very responsive to our issues (e.g. getting carpenter to reapply the silicon, electrician to rectify the sound caused by our fans, painter to touch up the walls and etc). It was such a fulfilling process to have sharing of ideas and working together with Sean to create our dream home. We were fortunate that he was the ID who understood our requirements from the start which made our renovation to be seamless.

Working with Yong Qiang on my home was a seamless, transparent, and reassuring process from start to finish. Right from our initial discussions, he truly understood my vision while offering insightful, practical design suggestions that elevated the entire space. He went through every line of the quote in detail and respected my budget completely. There were no "crazy surprises" or hidden costs along the way, just honest and open communication. On top of keeping a strict timeline and handing over on schedule, Yong Qiang went the extra mile with site supervision—he frequently dropped by the site to check on progress, even when I wasn't expecting him to, which gave me immense peace of mind. Whenever I had questions or needed clarification on any aspect of the renovation, he answered them promptly with thorough explanations. Every detail we agreed on was executed beautifully. I have full confidence recommending Yong Qiang to my family and friends, and I’m already planning to engage him again for my parents' home!
