We signed with ANSANA Interior Design, already paid 90% expecting 90% of the delivery but as you can see in the photos, its barely livable. Having taken 90% of our monies, we were left in our house in such a state with $100k of work unfinished and NOT communication and NOT returning our monies. We are now taking legal action against ANSANA. We even agreed and planned our move-in around the agreed schedule. As the date approached, the house still wasn’t ready. We were also asked to release more money to pay subcontractors so work can be completed, which made us anxious because so much felt unfinished. We tried to be patient. We chased updates, but many times we ended up contacting and coordinating subcontractors ourselves. The timeline moved, then moved again. Costs we thought were “all-in” later appeared as variation orders—like installation for doors/frames—and even our lump-sum demolition didn’t include removing the old tile skirting, which became another VO. Each surprise meant more time, more stress, and more temporary living costs. This experience has been exhausting and disheartening. We have sleepless nights dealing with ANSANA and now we do not even have a place to stay in because this very bad experience. We’re sharing it so others can plan better than we did: clarify exactly what “all-in” means (in writing), confirm what’s included in demolition (including skirting), and agree on how progress and payments will be managed.

I must preface this to say that we didn’t sign with El Arte but we really wanted to leave a review for the excellent ID we met and worked with - Rebecca. We met Rebecca over the course of about 5 wks, and had numerous meetings with her. From the get go, she was considerate of the fact that we were still overseas, and tried her best to fit our time. She also came fully prepared, with ideas, suggestions, and even drew up 2-3 options for us - something that very few other IDs did (in the end we met close to 15). Rebecca was heard our needs/lifestyle, and Came up with ideas/suggestions that showed she truly thought from our perspective. She also came up with very cool ideas that worked with our less than ideal home layout. Being architecture trained, Rebecca also gave good, realistic advice, and was never pushy which we really valued. Her advice on things like whether a certain number of drawers were feasible made complete sense when she explained them patiently to us - that was very helpful since we were planning for our new home for the first time and had some ideas that really probably wouldn’t have worked. She also went the extra mile to check with her contractors/suppliers when we saw things we’d have wanted but they didn’t supply (like a type of swivel shower partition). She also actively negotiated for a better price for us, within reasonable limits. Perhaps what we enjoyed most about working with Rebecca was her clear explanations and her good vibes - it was never just “yes can do” or “no cannot do” - but she took time to help us understand aspects of design and explore collaboratively what could and couldn’t be done. (Her scribbled drawings are also very easy to understand/act as a good visual aid when she’s explaining). While we went with another company due to their company’s in house carpentry etc(we were mostly doing carpentry for this Reno), we will not hesitate to work with Rebecca in the future should we need any work or Reno to be done!

Roy work according to my budget and plan with care to ensure I can achieve my "dream house" idea while not overspent. He is flexible and patient in arranging meet-up with me due to my hectic schedule. Trustable! And most importantly, he can understand what my needs and wants in building my dream house. He offered extra help to source for compatible deco and accessories. Hopefully once the renovation started he can also put in equal effort to the entire renovation project.

Had the opportunity to discuss our home renovation plans with Quad R's Nigel, and we were impressed by his expertise and professionalism. Started the journey of looking at various interior design ideas in Dec 2024, and embarked on the exciting time meeting various IDs in Apr 2025. Was exciting, refreshing and fun meeting various IDs, exchanging ideas and exploring various design options. Most IDs are very professional, but offer mostly the same design concepts, following current trends and design ideas. However, I want a design that is timeless, minimalists and cozy. After more than a month of meeting more than 10 IDs, the process became tedious, energy draining and at times draggy. Ovon Design was the last ID I met, which almost didn't happen as I was tired of the process and had in fact decided on appointing a particular ID I met earlier. Ovon Design responded to my last minute queries, so I decided to give it a shot. On the day of appointment, I was toying with the idea of cancelling but somehow managed to garner the energy to attend. Front the initial encounter with Simon and Dayah, I was quickly impressed by their professionalism, great listening skills, ability to understand and visualize the design concepts I fancy. The most important factor is the ease and comfortable feeling when discussing the design concepts with them, with great proposals and design ideas offered by Simon and Dayah. On the second appointment, Dayah presented the design concepts in rendering customized to my requirements, this greatly helped me to visualize the design ideas; which most IDs would just described in words and maybe showed some pictures from their other projects. Hence, very quickly I decided that Ovon Design, Simon and Dayah were the interior designers I want for my home renovation project. From then on, the journey had been extremely smooth, and I did not have to be concerned about the renovation progress. If there were any issues, both Simon and Dayah were able to resolve them very quickly. Dayah updated me of the renovation progress with pictures and videos regularly. Greatly impressed by the speed of communication, and any queries I had were attended to and answered almost instantly. After about 2 months of renovation, the home was handed to me in an immaculate condition, exactly as per the propsed final rendering, with everything according to my idea of a cozy, comfortable and perfect home to enjoy. So thankful, glad and blessed to have engaged OVON Design as the interior design firm to handle my home renovation. Blessed with Simon and Dayah as the designers assigned, they were excellent in their design ideas, professionalism, communication and customer centric service. Could not have asked for more. With the project in their hands, everything was perfect. Thank you Simon and Dayah, you have made the process extremely joyful and stress-free, so glad I chose you as my Interior Designers.

Choosing FSI as the ID firm for our first new place was the best choice we made. Our designer, Leon was able to blend our envision of the house with creativity and functionality. Love how he also added pop of colours to elevate the fun element of the space. He also helped to keep to our renovation budget by providing alternatives and no hidden costs. During the renovation period, the team also updated us promptly on the project status with photos and videos. This greatly put our mind at ease, knowing our house was in safe hand. Concerns / feedback that we had were quickly resolved too. The whole process was smooth and completed on time, nothing like the renovation nightmares that we heard from our friends.

ID: Javier and Benjamin Pros: -Understood our brief of California casual very well, proposed elements and mood boards that fit what we needed and not just what we wanted -Was candid enough to share what can be done and what is not recommended directly, giving the rationale for each case -Didn't push extravagant add ons or use expensive vendors but we had the option to do so -Honest and accountable when it comes to issues -Use Blum fittings by default -Tweaked and provided multiple renderings until we were satisfied -Very communicative, prepared schedules in advance and resolved issues quickly -Replied promptly and gave sound design advice, ie red leather sofa wouldn't go with our design but a salmon fabric sofa would -Didn't assume anything, eg whether our irregular knobs should be installed horizontally/vertically Cons: -Some hiccups with the carpenter and electrician, eg my dish rack couldn't fit the custom made cabinet and aa tracks were installed in the wrong cabinet -It would have been nice to explore alternative solutions for some issues once site recce was done, even if alternative solutions are not necessarily better Ultimately we had a good experience and we arrived at a compromise for all issues or they were fixed promptly. It depends on your expectations, we weren't stressed about the issues but I could see how it could still be stressful for others. We did get many items on our own from Taobao and JB, which resulted in delays from waiting for replacements or additions to arrive and a lot more hassle from coordinating these deliveries on our own

1. Many items not included in the renovation were quoted very high, e.g. aircon, window, lightings, curtain, etc. were all between 30% to 400% higher than what I've sourced for. Finally I have bought all these items by myself. 2. Additional items were added or changed without prior informing and seek approval; 3. Last minute change of carpentry design; 4. Very poor workmanship, especially carpentry work.

We had an amazing experience working with Kinjo, especially with our ID- Wee. He was incredibly easy to work with, detailed, patient, and practical. Whenever our ideas weren’t the most feasible, he would thoughtfully explain why and propose even better alternatives that improved the overall design. Communication was seamless throughout the entire process. Wee understood our design preferences right from the start and captured the exact look and feel we wanted for our home. The renovation process was smooth and efficient. Progress was quick, workmanship was solid, and Wee was always on top of ensuring quality at every stage. Their quotation was also very reasonable and transparent, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind. In the end, Wee and the Kinjo team created a beautiful home that we truly love. It was an absolute joy working with them, and we would highly recommend Kinjo to anyone looking for a reliable and talented ID firm.

Another key aspect that made the experience enjoyable was how well the entire project was managed. Renovations can be stressful, but Eileen’s team ensured everything ran on schedule. Each phase of the renovation—from demolition to installation and final inspection—was completed on time. We were kept informed every step of the way, with regular updates and clear communication. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately, and any minor issues that came up were resolved quickly and professionally. This level of attention to detail and care made a huge difference in reducing the stress that often comes with home renovations. Highly recommended if you want to have more control over your home renovation. after meeting quite a few IDs, we decided to go ahead with Jay from Carpenter Direct. Jay is sincere, genuine and has the trust worthy vibe which's one of the reason we choose them over other firms. we are also very satisfy end product of the carpentry work. The quality is very good. the 3D render is accurate and very close to final product. Jay also completed the job within the timeline given although there was restricted by the availability of worker time slot. Area of improvement, protection layer should also cover existing wardrobe to prevent dust going into it. Overall, they are reliable and excellent carpentry work!
