I had a very disappointing experience with this renovation contractor. Throughout the project, he repeatedly failed to keep his promises and continuously gave false deadlines, causing significant delays to my renovation. At one point, my house was left completely empty for three weeks with no workers on site and no progress made. Despite collecting almost 90% of the payment, the renovation was not even 50% completed. He also promised to bear half of my STORHUB storage fees due to the delay but eventually refused to honour his commitment. When I requested a refund, he refused, claiming that he had already paid deposits to his workers and that they were busy with other projects. After collecting our 90% payment, we can see a delay in his response and replies to us. He started to give late replies or ignore us. The lack of accountability, poor project management, and broken promises caused my family a great deal of stress and inconvenience. I hope future homeowners exercise caution and ensure they have proper payment schedules and written commitments before engaging other contractors. Most importantly, do not engage this contractor.

It was a pleasant 1st discussion meeting on 13/12/2025. We have been following up with Alexa regarding the revised quotation for many times, but she always has reason for the delaying until the end she no more reply. 1st follow up on 8/1/2026, 8.06am- She replied on 9/1/2026, 12.01pm saying that she was oversea & will update me on Monday. 2nd follow up on 13/1/2026, 9.45am- No respond from her 3rd follow up on 15/1/2026, 9.39am- She replied on 17/1/2026, 1.28pm saying that she was in hospitalized from food poisoning & will revert us ASAP. 4th follow up on 30/1/2026, 8.46am- She replied on 31/1/2026, 3.02pm saying that she caught the viral flu after her hospitalized. She said she was rushing all her backlog & will revert to us ASAP. 5th follow up on 23/2/2026, 9.27am- No respond from anymore

We’ve had a great experience with ✨ Natalie ✨ . Her professionalism, ownership and calmness throughout the process was exceptional. She takes tremendous care in building our home, almost as though it were her own, and never takes shortcuts. She often catches details that we completely miss during our site visits - e.g. she noticed that our door 🚪 knobs were installed too high and took the initiative to send them back for correction. We didn’t even notice it! This type of ID where to find 🤣 When one of our chosen dark wood laminates went out of stock, instead of taking the easy route and simply suggesting an alternative, she guided us through the matching process again, considering our other laminate, wall and floor colours. 🌈 There’s also a lot of behind-the-scenes work — measurements, material selection, proposals and coordinating with different vendors — and she took the bulk of that off our shoulders. Her design taste is excellent as well, and we’ve never had an instance where we second-guessed her recommendations. 💪 We’re approaching the end of this “not so straightforward” reno and are happy with seeing our dream home come to life. ❤️ Seriously dont look any further if you want a great experience for your reno!

Joshua is a very professional ID who plans everything well and communicates efficiently throughout the renovation process. He made the entire renovation journey smooth and hassle-free. Found Jesigns through their videos in social media. Decided to enquire and end up having them as our ID. Very efficient and passionate about their work. The process from creating ideas with them for our house and renovation process was smooth. They were quick too in solving any problems. Even after handing over, they gave us some time to settle down and ensure everything is fine. Ultimately have no regret in having them as our ID.

Megan came highly recommended by a friend, who told us that she was reliable and efficient. This gave us the confidence to entrust our home renovation to her, and we’re so glad we did! Megan was able to help us visualise our ideas and bring our dream home to life. Throughout the renovation process, she was patient with us while also keeping us on track with important timelines and decisions. Whenever we were unsure about colours, materials or design choices, Megan was always there to offer her advice and thoughtful input without making us feel pressured. We met a total of 8 different ID companies before deciding to go with Wilfred in the end because he was the only one to suggest stainless steel countertops and backsplash to us and that really stuck. It was also evident through our early meetings that he had very good design sense, through the way he would draw and explain different elements of the renovation. We also knew we wanted an ID that we could vibe with, especially since we knew it would be a relatively long journey and that there might also be situations where we need to resolve things together. Throughout the renovation process, Wilfred was easy to communicate with and very patient and accommodating. We were very thankful for that, given that it is our first time building a home, and often found ourselves being a bit indecisive or particular about certain things. He also took the time to explain certain limitations if something could not be done, which we were very appreciative of instead of someone just telling you that it can't be done full stop. He gave suggestions that I would never have thought of and someone we could really rely on for space planning, and to balance both function and aesthetics. Jack was amazing too, he was super on the ball with replying us whenever we had questions about the renovation works and even went beyond what he was required to do by helping to coordinate and manage certain aspects of our renovation that we outsourced. All in all, we were extremely pleased to have worked with Wilfred and Jack and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to build their home.

Thanks to Zavier's wealth of experience, the handover process for our house was remarkably efficient, and we were able to meet our deadline without a hitch. Zavier's experience makes him an excellent choice for an Interior Designer ,we wholeheartedly recommend him. Throughout the entire project timeline, he demonstrated exceptional management skills, keeping us updated on the progress and giving us peace of mind as we looked forward to our new home.

I had a great experience working with Claudine! Despite the very tight timeline, she managed our renovation project well and ensured everything stayed on track with no delays. We have all heard of horror stories of IDs that promised the world but fails to deliver or worse, disappears halfway through. This review is the opposite as we want to share our amazing experience with ID Hing Yong Sim from Comuna Interiors. We met Yong Sim at a Qanvast Hangout. He was attentive and took careful notes of our requirements and what we are looking for. As we also met with a few other IDs we didn't give much thought about this meeting as it was a whirlwind of sitting down with the many ID firms available. When he got back to us with the first cut of the proposal we were pleasantly surprised. It was more or less what we want. Yong Sim understood the assignment and was able to make changes to the plans according to what we want and what our budget was. Well we decided to take the leap and engage his services. Yong Sim was with us every step of the way. We met up with him several times before work starts to finalise the details of the plan. We spent many Friday evenings and weekend meeting him to source for materials at the various suppliers. He would bring us through step by step and give his recommendations. It was a comfortable working relationship where he would recommend but not push us in his direction. He made sure we choose the tiles, laminate, paint colours at our pace, even if we were took awhile because we were overwhelmed by the choices available. The next phase is the actual work. Yong Sim worked closely with the contractors and gave us regular updates on the work done, from dismantling to installations right up to the touching up. He gave live feedback from site and sought our decision for last minute changes. Before we know it, the project was complete. So by now, most IDs would be eager to hand over unit and move on to their next project. They will be hard to contact and defects rectification is largely hits or misses. This is where Yong Sim's professionalism and dedication shines. He came over a few times to check on the defects rectification, even in the evenings. He remained fully contactable and made sure everything is to our satisfaction, especially the paint jobs and carpentry. To be fair the paint work isn't what we hope to be but Yong Sim made sure the painters touched up everything. There were a few mishaps in the carpentry but he got everything replaced. The quality of work is excellent. Now, what about his eye for design? Here are some photos of the parts of our house that we are might pleased with. Everything was cozy and warm, clean lines and rounded corners where needed. The lighting he recommended was on point. These photos are not professionally taken as you can see. But I hope they do justice to the real thing we are happy to see everyday. Would we recommend Yong Sim if you are looking for an ID to bring your ideas to life? Definitely. Are you looking for a patient, funny, engaging, and thoughtful ID who spares no effort to make your home renovation journey a pleasant process? Then go Comuna Interiors and look for Hing Yong Sim.
